"Boom!" The Rat Giant charged through, tearing the human line to shreds, and the already demoralized soldiers scattered in all directions.
Tens of thousands of waves of rats flooded through the streets, over houses, and beyond walls. These hungry and greedy Slave Rats couldn't wait to indulge in a feast of flesh and blood.
Slave Rats are the lowest class in the entire Ratman society. These Ratn, averaging 1.2 ters in height, represent the lowest tier and the largest group within the Skaven society. The life of a Slave Rat is extrely harsh, but fortunately, it's also very short. Food supply in the Ratman society is so scarce that it's normal for Ratn to eat each other. Every day is a brutal struggle for survival, and the mont a Slave Rat shows any weakness or injury, it's devoured by its peers.
If a Slave Rat manages to barely survive countless battles and skirmishes, it might be elevated to a Clan Rat, sowhat similar to the peasants of Brittania. However, most Slave Rats usually end up slaughtered.
"Kill! Kill, kill!" The rat wave attacked the fragile humans, and the refugees, barely holding any weapons, were retreating continuously. There were simply too many Ratn. As soon as a refugee killed one Ratman, they would face three more attacking them simultaneously. After killing those three, countless more Ratn would close in.
They could never kill them all!
As the battle progressed, the morale of the refugees and militia was nearing collapse. Many tried to flee, only to be overwheld by the rat wave.
However, so showed imnse courage in such a desperate situation.
"Kill! Kill all the rats!" A middle-aged man wielded a shabby long spear, piercing the stomach of a Clan Rat. The surge of blood intensified his ferocity. The honest, self-sufficient farr was now burning with terrifying rage.
The ho was gone, the family was gone, the livelihood was gone!
"Damn rats! I won't let this go!!!" Many refugees shared similar thoughts. Endless grief filled their hearts. Instead of giving up, they fought with a desperate resolve to kill one and break even, kill two and make a profit, engaging in relentless combat with the Ratn.
"Fight!" The Imperial Captain wielded a long halberd, sweeping through large groups of Ratn. The Demon Hunter unleashed a series of rapier strikes. They never gave up!
"Fireball Technique!" In the center of the battlefield, in a rush, Veronica raised her Magic Staff to cast a spell. The magic from Yundi's Staff gathered again to form a fireball the size of a basin. Her sweet, apricot eyes were filled with rage. The Jialan Witch raised her hands, fiery threads dancing in the air: "Go!"
The giant fireball left a long trail as it flew directly at the rampaging Rat Giant among the crowd!
Veronica was panting lightly, repeatedly casting spells had significantly depleted her mana reserves. The Jialan Witch set her sights on the Rat Giant.
The Rat Giant naturally noticed the fireball coming at it. The huge creature was too bulky to dodge, so it made a decision: take the fireball head-on!
This monster, created with the Ratn's evil technology, raised its arms to forcefully block the Fireball Technique.
"Boom!" The fireball hit the Rat Giant directly, and the explosive heat wave engulfed the monster and the Ratn nearby.
"Did it succeed?" Veronica squinted, and the Jialan Witch prepared to release another spell.
"Roar~ Roar!!!" From within the explosion's shockwave, the roar of the Rat Giant could be heard. This terrifying monster had taken Veronica's fireball head-on! It stood triumphantly on two feet, with a shallow wound etched on its burned, blackened right arm, still afla. But this did not hinder its movent, and the monster roared angrily, charging directly at Veronica!
Veronica then intended to chant Blazing Shield to block the Rat Giant's attack. But the Rat Giant didn't give her the chance. It swiftly moved on all fours, slapping away two Long Halberdiers blocking its path, and in the blink of an eye, the Rat Giant was before Veronica, its huge paw coming down.
"Blazing Shield!" The Jialan Witch imdiately tore open a scroll, forming a shield of flas in front of her.
Yet, the Rat Giant ignored the shield. Instead, it launched itself off the ground, leaping directly over the shield.
The Rat Giant wasn't dumb.
"Damn it!" In the middle of her spell, Veronica was forced to stop. Just as she turned back, the massive paw of the Rat Giant lood over her: "Thud~"
Veronica was struck by the creature's paw, slamd forcefully against a wall and falling to the ground.
"Ugh~" Veronica's fiery red leather attire showed signs of damage. The witch spat out a mouthful of blood, the sensation of her internal organs rupturing tore at her nerves, and her whole body felt dislocated; she suspected a fractured rib.
The pearl jewelry on her body began to glow, its warm power shielding Veronica. The witch knew it was a gift from Laine's biological father. She barely managed to stand, relying on the power flowing from the jewelry.
The ground trembled as the Rat Giant approached again!
The monster charged at Veronica, raising its foot to crush her skull.
Veronica also drew her longsword, ready to fight the Rat Giant to the death!
"For the Lady!" At that mont, an angry shout ca from behind the Rat Giant.
