Chapter 1604: Section 1605 Contact Glenn

After leaving Mukihara Bar, Angel headed towards the manor. On the way, he took out his municator and got in touch with Antonio.

When the pale blue human form spirit materialized, Angel said, “Can you help me contact someone…”

It wasn't long after Angel put away his municator, and even before he reached the manor, when someone, amidst a flying vehicle fuelled by mana, soared up from the ground, ignoring the no-fly warning issued by the Magic Energy Eye.

“Master Pat!” The newer exclaimed, their tone filled with surprise.

Following the shout, their movement sped up a bit, causing the Metallic Mana Eye behind them to flash red even more.

As the newer drew near Angel, his eyes sparkled with joy. Even on his flying vehicle, his steps seemed to float in excitement.

With his approach, the Magic Energy Eyes that trailed him also swarmed in.

Seeing the Magic Energy Eyes surrounding the newer, Angel finally spoke, addressing the Magic Energy Eyes, “He's the one I called for. You all may leave now.”

After confirming Angel's identity and authority, the metallic spheres with their solitary eyes looked at each other and each took flight away.

Only when the Magic Energy Eyes had departed did Angel turn his gaze to the visitor.

He was a youth with an exotic appearance, adorned with skeleton ornaments all over; even the buttons on his boots were grinning skulls. Unfortunately, because of his rapid flight and not activating any defensive fields, his hair was blown into a disheveled mess, resembling a bird's nest. The change in hairstyle turned him from a gothic youth into what looked like a brooding teenager.

“Glenn,” Angel called the newer's name. It was indeed Glenn whom Angel had asked Antonio to contact. However, Angel had only suggested checking where Glenn was and if he was free, Angel would meet him another day.

But to Angel's surprise, Glenn came looking for him first. And he came quickly, at that.

Angel regarded Glenn with suspicion. Did this guy really have nothing to do every day, seemingly so free? Last time Angel taught classes at Ashliea prehensive College, Glenn was there too. Through those days of teaching, Angel realized that Glenn had no interest in Alchemy; his attendance was purely a waste of time.

“Master Pat, I heard from Mr. Antonio earlier that you wanted to see me, is that correct?” After offering respectful greetings, Glenn looked towards Angel with normal eyes, yet, somewhere deep within, there was a faint glimmer.

He reminded Angel of the diehard fans he had witnessed in the Infinite Battle Tower.

“It's nothing much. I just hope you can help me inquire about someone,” Angel said. “Of course, there will be pensation.”

Five minutes passed.

After exchanging their means of munication, Angel watched Glenn trot away and mused again that this guy really seemed to have a lot of free time. Originally, Angel intended two or three days for a reply, but Glenn insisted that he could provide an answer by the next morning at the latest.

Seemingly full of initiative, but why so idle?

Angel shook his head, dismissing the thought and instead sent a message to Allen at Fangling Hall, then returned to the manor.

The reason for his meeting with Glenn, in fact, was because of Allen.

During a recent chat at Fangling Hall, Lyon had asked Allen out of curiosity: “Why haven't I seen your sister Irene?”

Before Moro took Allen and his sister away from Pat Manor, Lyon had met them. But afterwards, due to Allen's culinary talents, he went to the Candy House, and Irene continued on with Moro to White Coral Floating Island Academy, heading on separate paths. Lyon wasn't aware of these details, prompting his question.

After Allen explained the situation, his expression suddenly turned a bit grim.

“I actually didn't plan on ing to Sky Mechanical City, but a while back Grandpa Moro sent me a message saying that Irene will participate in the new talent tournament. That's why I made my way here. Yet, I haven't seen her around.”

“I've asked others to inquire, but there's no information to be found. I wanted to try through the Infinite Battle Tower's channels, but their staff won't divulge any details, so I have no idea if she actually came to participate in the tournament or not.”

Allen figured there might have been a mix-up, or perhaps Irene was still at the White Coral Floating Island Academy and hadn't arrived at Sky Mechanical City. These were optimistic speculations; yet, he dared not contemplate the worst-case scenarios.

Allen sighed for a long time before suddenly realizing that Angel, a guest judge, was sitting right in front of him. As a guest judge, he was also an official member of the Infinite Battle Tower, and through Angel, it might be possible to find Irene.

So, Allen approached Angel with a trembling request for help.

For Angel, this was a simple favor to grant, and since he had a good relationship with Irene, he agreed to Allen's request.

Being familiar with the staff of the Infinite Battle Tower, he naturally knew them, and even had some connections with the Beast Emperor Rosen at the very top. However, it would be overkill to bother them just to find an apprentice, and that's why Angel reached out to Glenn.

After returning to the manor, Angel saw Greya training Toby, with Sharley standing by, dumbfounded, as she watched Toby in his gryphon form emitting a fierce aura.

While training, Greya was also whispering something to Sharley, seemingly teaching her to sense Toby's current emotional field.

Angel listened in and, as expected, Greya was helping Sharley sense and record the fluctuations of the Extreme Resentment Thoughts emanating from Toby.

Angel quietly watched from the side until Toby, exhausted, reverted back to his small bird form and collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. Only then did Angel approach.

“How's it going?” Angel asked Greya.

“We've just started, how could there be any results?” Greya replied, but her gaze towards Sharley was filled with appreciation: “However, Sharley's ability to sense emotions is indeed quite useful.”

Angel turned to Sharley: “For the next while, I might need to trouble you to work with Greya.”

After staying at the manor for one night, Sharley's fear of the unknown had slightly diminished, especially since Greya had explained to her why Angel had brought her here, making her less afraid of Angel.

“It's no trouble at all, if Lord Pat could give me a little reward, I would be pletely satisfied,” Sharley said flirtatiously as she threw a coquettish glance at Angel.

If it were Sharley's mentor, the Water Pattern Witch, that coquettish glance would probably be full of allure. But Sharley's flirting, bined with the cross-shaped tear streak tattoo under her eyes, just made Angel find it ludicrous and absurd.

“I was just kidding,” Sharley hastily added, frightened by Angel's prolonged silence.

However, it was then that Angel replied: “Alright, as a magician, you do indeed lack some things.”

Sharley was first stunned by Angel's agreement, but before the joy in her heart could surface, she heard the rest of Angel's statement.

“Are you saying I lack a magician's props?” Sharley asked as she gently shook her finger: “Oh no, a magician's props should not be shown off so lightly.”

As she spoke, Sharley took off her hat and then snapped her fingers: “Like this.”

As soon as her words fell, two pure white doves flapped their wings and flew out of Sharley's hat. One perched on the floating teapot around Sharley, while the other landed on her shoulder.

Sharley half-squinted her eyes, speaking in a playful tone: “Actually, I have a magician's props hidden all over me~ Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there~”

Angel: “In that case, never mind.”

Sharley was about to ask what exactly Angel was planning to give her, hoping it wouldn't be something repetitive, but then Angel suddenly said… never mind?

Sharley quickly insisted: “Actually, I only hid two doves; I don't have anything else. Really, there's nothing more.”

Sharley certainly knew that with Angel's abilities, he could easily ascertain all the little trinkets hidden in her magician attire. But this was a matter of a reward, and she had to be shamelessly persistent.

Indeed, Angel could probe into the items hidden in Sharley's clothes, but the fact that she was a woman meant that casually peering into them was not the act of a gentleman.

“Let's talk about it when the time es then, assuming you really can be of help with Toby's issue.”
