Chapter 1139: Section 1140 Dispute on the Ice Floe
Monty had never expected to see Angel in such a manner.
The puppet he sent out was still quite far from the center of the battlefield, unable to capture specific details, but he could clearly see a dark-skinned woman with short hair, followed closely by a man and a woman.
From her physical features, it was evident that the woman was a half-blood demon. The man, on the other hand, was dressed in the standard attire of nobility, strikingly handso and upright.
In a daze, Monty even felt as though he had seen Sanders.
It had to be said that, judging from their attire, both Sanders and Angel were unmistakably from traditional noble factions. However, upon closer examination, one could discern the differences in their dispositions.
When the battle comnced, Monty’s attention was drawn entirely by the short-haired woman.
Her rapid slaughtering and terrifying control of wind power, that extraordinary strength, all far exceeded Monty’s imagination. Without doubt, this woman must be the powerful entity at Angel’s side!
In a short span of ti, hundreds of demons were dispatched by her with seemingly effortless ease.
As the blood rained down chaotically, the ground was left in disarray, strewn with nothing but flesh and debris.
She was a born killing machine; every wizard who witnessed this scene fell silent. They knew that the demons surrounding the floating ice were just as strong as those the woman had slain. Yet they had been struggling for tens of minutes without making any progress, while this woman had turned all the demons into a bloody pulp in just a short ti.
And she killed the demons effortlessly, as if it took no energy at all.
One shuddered to think that if this woman were to attack the floating ice, it would probably take only a few minutes before it disintegrated.
Thinking of this, they felt incredibly relieved about a previous decision to not oppose her; otherwise, their fate would truly be difficult to predict.
Fafnir’s dance of slaughter brought a mont of silence among the wizards, especially after she finished off all the demons and casually glanced at the puppet, sending those overly shocked wizards into petrified silence.
“She must have noticed us, right?” ca a voice trembling with fear.
“Certainly.” The tone was sure.
“However, it seems she didn’t pay any attention to the puppet.” A sound of soone swallowing their saliva: “Hopefully, she won’t be our enemy, right? After all, Angel seems to be quite familiar with her.”
After her slaughter, Fafnir simply nodded at Angel and continued onward.
This scene was also keenly observed by the wizards.
“Exactly what is the relationship between Angel and this woman?” Though Angel had previously spoken of many important matters, no one dared to bring up this exceptionally powerful being.
“Have you noticed? During the previous battle, Angel was in the center yet seed completely at ease. He truly lives up to being Sanders’ disciple.” If it had been an ordinary apprentice, probably their legs would have gone weak by now, to say nothing of the half-blood demon who was stealthily hiding.
The others looked on with envy and jealousy towards Sanders, while he remained silent.
Ever since Angel fell from Night Demon City into the Fairy Tale World, his experiences along the way were sotis beyond even Sanders’ understanding.
But seeing the youthful and heroic look still on Angel’s face, Sanders was actually quite comforted. If only Angel could cause a bit less trouble, everything would be more perfect.
“Sanders, what do you think?” Monty turned his gaze towards Sanders at this mont.
Sanders fell silent for a mont, then said, “Two doubts bother : first, why these demons are targeting Angel; and second, why Angel has left the southern outskirts.”
Although Sanders was curious about the dark-skinned woman’s identity, even if he knew, it would only satisfy his curiosity without offering any real help to the situation.
His greatest concerns were still those two points.
“Why the demons are targeting Angel, well, we have to see what about Angel could attract demons,” Monty retorted. “It cos down to… awakening. Although I don’t know how Angel did it, from what we’ve seen, these demons are desperately trying to capture Angel, probably for that reason.”
“As for why they have left the southern outskirts,” Monty was actually pondering as he spoke, “from their destination, it seems they are planning to head to the Void Tower. Sothing about the Void Tower is indeed amiss nowadays. Luci and I have both sensed that the Void Tower will soon bring a terrifying nightmare to Lassudral.”
“Are you suggesting, Sir Monty, that because of a change in Void Tower, even that powerful being had to leave?” Rivetta, who was the quickest to capture information, imdiately responded.
“Perhaps, but I can’t be certain. The puppet can’t probe into the Void Tower, so we can’t know the specifics, but from the current situation, it’s possible that a shocking upheaval is indeed about to arise in Lassudral.” Monty sighed.
“Why not have the puppet make contact with Angel?” soone suggested, reasoning that instead of making guesses, it was best to ask the person involved.
Monty had indeed considered this point, but after all, a puppet was an alchemy tool for reconnaissance. Such a tool, entering the defensive range of any strong figure, would arouse their displeasure and could even lead to hostility.
And since Angel was following that dark-skinned woman, if the puppet approached, it would surely provoke a reaction. If that inadvertently offended an extrely powerful individual, the loss would not be worth the gain.
For a mont, everyone’s topic of discussion revolved solely around whether the puppet should make contact with Angel or not.
However, what Sanders, standing to the side, was most concerned about remained the movent of demons. The demons were so aggressive and fearless in wanting to capture Angel, there had to be a catch. And what Sanders was even more worried about was, to what extent would that dark-skinned woman go for Angel?
Sanders did not believe that the dark-skinned woman would help Angel without reason; there must be a motive. Or perhaps, sothing was exchanged.
If it were any other Wizard Apprentice making a deal with an extrely powerful being, Sanders guessed he would take it as a joke. But Angel was different; he had many things on him that, once exposed, would shake the entire Wizards’ Realm. So if it really ca down to a trade, perhaps Angel could indeed offer sothing of value.
As Sanders worried, a new group of demons surrounded Angel.
The demons were nurous, but still no match for Fafnir. Just as everyone was lanting this, a Sheep Demon suddenly appeared behind Angel.
“A speed-type Sheep Demon?!” a wizard exclaid, even the ‘Black Dragon’ Issac furrowed his brow. This type of Sheep Demon was one he would normally avoid in combat. If Angel were caught, he might not have another chance to escape… As Issac was thinking this, the Sheep Demon extended its hand and caught Angel’s shoulder.
It seed this ti Angel was in real trouble. That was the consensus among all wizards witnessing the scene.
However, things did not proceed as they had imagined. Angel perford astral projection, then escaped using the Gravity ridian, a series of actions that turned the situation around, leaving the wizards in a stunned silence.
If it were them, even if they could extricate themselves, they probably wouldn’t have been as swift and decisive as Angel had managed to be!
Even Monty’s eyes were filled with surprise and admiration. Although Angel possessed the Gravity ridian, to respond quickly under such intense psychological pressure was no easy feat.
Angel’s escape already caused an outcry among the onlookers, but the series of events that followed surprised the wizards even more.
Komodo, who had not been seen before, finally showed himself.
And it seed that Komodo was the mastermind behind the attempt to capture Angel!
“Send more puppets over!” Monty looked at the greatly changed Komodo with a sudden premonition, feeling that they might get the answers they sought from him.
However, the conversation between Komodo and Fafnir was too far to be heard. Monty had just issued the order; if they could not catch the audio, they at least needed to interpret their conversation through lipreading.
Surprisingly, the puppet’s approach did not elicit much response.
Or rather, there were actually many demons secretly watching the battle nearby; one more puppet didn’t an much to Fafnir and Komodo.
As the puppet drew closer, an icy female voice was heard: “He carries a mission from Odeclass; I can’t possibly let you take him away.”
On the other hand, Komodo’s lips curled into a smirk: “Nothing is absolute, how about we make a deal?”
After Komodo’s words fell, Fafnir didn’t respond imdiately, and silence fell on the field.
anwhile, on the floating ice, the wizards delved into discussion.
“Who is Odeclass? Angel carries a mission from Odeclass; could this be the link between Angel and this extrely powerful being?” Rivetta exclaid, pulling out her notepad to quickly jot down notes. The information gathered today was more than that of the past year, and a lot of it was extrely valuable! After organizing and filtering, “Glowing City Night Talk” would likely be a huge hit!
“Odeclass is the Abyssal Dragon from the Unlting Ice Valley,” Monty said. He had once been there to set up a stronghold city for Frostmoon and had sought the dragon, hence he knew its na.
Previously in the communicator, Angel ntioned he had to complete a “predecessor’s” mission, but no one expected that this predecessor referred to Odeclass. Moreover, from the current information, it seed that the extrely powerful individual also had sothing to do with Odeclass.
The more Monty understood, the more he found Angel to be full of enigmas.
Despite Odeclass being a Fla Dragon, the creature had lived in Ice Valley so long, it had practically beco a big block of ice. Monty hadn’t fared well the last ti he went there. Unexpectedly, Angel had so connection with it.
“Aside from this, I’m quite curious, what’s the story with Komodo’s transformation? It has even strengthened its physical body considerably, such a change is too rapid…”
“And what does Komodo want with Angel?”
As everyone was discussing, Fafnir, who had been silent, finally spoke:
“What trade do you propose?”
