Chapter 1280: Section 1281 Red Light

Before Sanders could reply, the door was suddenly knocked.

Angel looked at Sanders and whispered softly, “Please co in.”

Two fully ard n entered, one wearing armor and the other dressed in a full-body white bear costu.

It was Lyon, and the white bear, Hobson.

As Lyon entered, his face was originally stern and worried, but when he saw Angel sitting by the bed, his eyes suddenly softened. “You’re awake? That’s great, I’m relieved you’re all right.”

Lyon was about to co closer, when a white shadow by his side reached Angel’s side first. “Angel, the person you ntioned, is it Lady Eulica?”

...

“My brother just woke up, can’t you wait and ask later?” Lyon furrowed his brows, his tone clearly a bit displeased.

Angel waved his hand at Lyon and looked towards the white bear beside him.

He looked anxious and exhausted, with heavy dark circles under his eyes—perhaps he hadn’t slept all night—and his eyes carried both pleading and so caution.

“Looking like this, you resemble a panda more,” Angel said with a smile.

The white bear was taken aback, and it took a while for him to realize that Angel was referring to his dark circles. With a resigned, wry smile, he said, “It seems you’re recovering well to still have the mood to tease .”

Angel shrugged noncommittally. “The question you asked, don’t you already have the answer in your heart?”

The white bear’s throat moved, and disbelief still lingered in his eyes. “Is it really her?”

“Speaking of which, you’ve been exposed to the Wizards’ Realm even earlier than . Her exploits—you should be clearer about them than I am.”

The white bear fell silent; indeed, the mont he saw Eulica, mories of her stories had surfaced in his mind.

‘Tainted Blood Shadow Stab’ Eulica was once considered a rising star. As a witch who had beco an Official Wizard at a young age, she had a bright future ahead. Yet, in her mont of triumph, she provoked the cruel King Gumman and even stole his most treasured possession—the Crimson Authority.

The entire Wizards’ Realm was in an uproar.

Not to ntion how she managed to steal the Crimson Authority, but her very action was enough to astonish everyone. It was well known that the Gumman Kingdom was no ordinary Mortal Kingdom and King Gumman was no mortal; his power might not compare to the top echelon of the Southern Domain, but he belonged to the pinnacle of the pyramid.

Why would Eulica provoke such a Transcendent King?

Latter on, so secrets were leaked, and people vaguely understood that Eulica did what she did presumably for vengeance. The specific grudge was unknown to all. There was rumor, however, that it might be because King Gumman had wiped out Eulica’s family.

If that were true, the white bear felt a sense of unreality. Could it be that Eulica’s provocation of King Gumman was because of my aunt’s family?

So, was Eulica truly his kin?

“But if she’s my kin, why didn’t she co to find ?” the white bear murmured softly to himself.

“Given her current status as a fugitive from King Gumman, do you think it’s appropriate for her to seek you out?” Angel sighed.

The white bear seed dazed, muttering repeatedly, “I must see her, I have to et her, to ask her…”

After speaking, the white bear imdiately stood up and turned to leave. Angel wanted to stop him but was a step too slow and failed. Angel could only stand up, ready to chase after him.

Angel had brought the white bear back indeed to provoke a reaction from Eulica. But with Eulica’s current situation, wasn’t the white bear just seeking death?

“You don’t need to bother with him; he won’t be able to find Eulica,” Sanders suddenly said, seeing Angel about to chase after him.

Angel turned his head to look at Sanders, waiting for his explanation.

“Eulica fled last night and was taken back to the Exile Space by Suise. She’s not in the outside world right now; he won’t be able to find her,” Sanders stated flatly.

Angel, hearing this news, finally breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly, as if he rembered sothing, he murmured softly, “Last night? Has a whole night already passed?”

Angel looked towards the window. Though the curtains were closed, the faint light from the gap below revealed it was bright outside.

Lyon also noticed Angel’s gaze and walked to the window, pulling the curtains open.

The dazzling sunshine pierced the darkness of the room, and light mixed with dust spread rapidly, not just scattering the dust of the night but making Angel feel as if he had returned from the Abyss of Corruption to the real world once more.

“A whole night really has passed, so the events before, were they a dream?” Angel pondered in his heart.

After a while, Angel raised his head to look at Sanders. “ntor, you ntioned Eulica ran off last night? Were you the one who drove her away?”

Sanders shook his head without saying a word.

Instead, it was Lyon who walked over to Angel and said, “It’s strange, but after you suddenly passed out yesterday, Lady Eulica ran off. I’ve no idea what happened. Could it be that she woke up, realized she had hard you, and thus felt guilty about it?”

As Lyon approached, he looked at Angel with concern: “Are you sure you’re feeling okay now?”

“I’m fine.” Angel didn’t feel anything wrong with his body and brought the conversation back to Eulica: “I fainted, and Eulica ran off? What’s that all about?”

Lyon shook his head; he was unclear about the reason as well and could only describe the situation in detail as it had unfolded.

The situation was actually not complex. Influenced by the Crimson Authority, Angel fell from a high altitude and lapsed into unconsciousness. Following that, Sanders entered the range of the blood light, and the next second, Eulica ran away.

Hearing this, it sounded like Sanders had scared her away? Angel looked at Sanders with confusion.

“You’re overlooking soone,” Sanders suddenly said. “When I entered the sealed area, soone else also ca in.”

Angel was startled: “White Bear?”

Sanders nodded; he had been startled himself when he saw Angel struck by the Mysterious Object and had prepared to go in for a rescue. But as soon as he entered, Eulica turned around and ran off.

Sanders was certain that Eulica had noticed the commotion here, but she hadn’t looked at him; she had looked at White Bear.

Taking White Bear’s identity into account, the answer was self-evident.

Indeed, White Bear had influenced Eulica.

“Indeed, bringing White Bear along was the right decision,” Angel said with a smile, not expecting that in the end, it would be White Bear who scared Eulica away. If he had known, he would have let White Bear go in from the start and spared himself that fight.

“White Bear, you an the guy in the strange outfit just now? Who exactly is he?” Lyon, who had been listening to their conversation, was completely baffled and asked curiously.

Angel: “You ca in with White Bear earlier. I thought you two had already t.”

Lyon shook his head: “After you were carried back to your room yesterday, I stayed outside the whole ti, and that… White Bear, he was nearby too but didn’t speak all night. When I knocked on the door earlier, he followed in. I thought he ca with you, so I didn’t stop him.”

“White Bear, his na is Hobson Sile. Eulica used to use the na ‘Ms. Sile’ in public,” Angel paused: “So, if everything is as I suspect, White Bear and Eulica should have so kind of blood relationship.”

For this answer, Lyon also felt sowhat bewildered, and it took him a while to respond: “I had seen Lady Eulica often gazing in a certain direction with a sowhat lancholic expression. I had thought she was missing ntor Suise. However, even after the ntor returned, she would occasionally still stare into the distance in a daze. According to the ntor, Lady Eulica was longing for her kin.”

“It seems now that she was missing that ‘White Bear’ all along?”

Angel also rembered that when he first t Eulica, and she learned he was from Barbarian Cave, her eyes had shown complex emotions, and she seed hesitant to speak, only saying later that she had an old acquaintance in Barbarian Cave.

It must have been White Bear she was referring to.

And it probably was for this reason that Eulica had so readily accepted his presence before she knew of his identity as an Alchemist.

After Lyon had ruminated for a while and was sowhat back in the mont, Angel asked, “By the way, what’s the deal with Eulica? How did she go mad?”

When Angel brought up this question, Lyon’s expression instantly turned grave: “It was the red light; it was caused by the red light.”

The red light? Angel looked puzzled at Lyon.

“Last night, you were initially on the upper hand, but then you suddenly fainted. What did you see at that mont?” Lyon asked.

Angel was taken aback and replied instinctively, “Red light.”

Lyon showed an ‘I knew it’ expression: “Exactly, that red light. Lady Eulica usually stays up in the Cloud Island, but around half a month ago, she suddenly returned to the stilted building. In the early hours of the morning, the stilted building was enveloped in a fierce red light. Ever since then, Lady Eulica went completely insane.”

“Yesterday, when I saw you also devoured by the red light, I feared you would end up like Lady Eulica. Thankfully… you are okay.”

Angel furrowed his brows: “Was Eulica influenced by the red light? And since the red light cos from the Crimson Authority, could it be that… the cause of all this might be the Crimson Authority?”

Angel looked toward Sanders, hoping to get an answer from him.

Sanders was also thinking deeply, and after a while, he said to Angel, “You ntioned earlier that Eulica had shown signs of change long ago, which ans she had been affected for a long ti. And since the Crimson Authority has always been by Eulica’s side, it is indeed possible that the Crimson Authority is the source.”

Angel: “If we knew the effects of the Crimson Authority, we might be able to tell if it’s the source of the trouble. However, I still don’t know what exactly the effect of the Crimson Authority is?”

Sanders: “The Crimson Authority is the supre treasure of the Gumman Kingdom. King Gumman only revealed its existence, but never its purpose.”

“However, since you were enveloped by the red light yesterday, I do have so speculations,” Sanders looked at Angel. “Tell about your experience last night.”

Angel was montarily confused by what Sanders was asking until Sanders ntioned―

“The Abyss of Corruption.”
