Chapter 1323: Section 1324 Anomaly Investigation Group

Originheart City, the top level of Sky Tower.

City Lord Monroe bid farewell to a sowhat bewildered Sir Sabel, then once again walked gracefully and knocked on the door at the end of the corridor.

“Co in,” a languid voice called from behind the door, seemingly tinged with weariness.

City Lord Monroe pushed open the door and saw Frode, who was still bent over his desk working on docunts.

Frode briefly set aside the pile of paperwork, looked up at Monroe and said, “You look quite pleased with yourself, did Sir Sabel’s response satisfy you?”

“He has decided to pledge his loyalty to after learning part of the ‘truth,'” Monroe said with a blooming smile. Naturally, he was very happy to have gained such a strong Knight.

...

“Hadn’t he already pledged his loyalty to you before? Otherwise, why would he be your city defense captain?”

“This ti it’s different. Sir Sabel has sworn with his Knight’s Soul to beco the protector of Originheart City,” Monroe said proudly.

Frode nodded in understanding. For a knight, swearing an oath on one’s Knight’s Soul is considered the most sacred promise. One could say that before, appointing Sir Sabel as the city defense captain was his job; but now, Sir Sabel has taken an oath to protect Originheart City—that’s faith.

It was no wonder that Monroe was so delighted.

“It seems that playing the role of judge between him and Tullas these past few days has had a significant impact,” Frode teased casually before asking Monroe about his visit, “Judging by your expression, you seem to have so concerns?”

When it ca to the purpose of his visit, Monroe’s joyful expression began to fade, “It’s about Sheriff Tullas. As you know, his character is well-known. Now that he’s been publicly defeated by Knight Sabel, I am worried…”

“Worried that the position of the sheriff will remain undecided?” Frode raised an eyebrow.

“Yes,” Monroe nodded. Tullas’s personality was too distinct, and many people speculated that, given Tullas’s nature, having been beaten by Sabel, the setback must be significant, “Everyone is worried that, just like last ti, he’ll hide away for months without showing his face.”

The last ti Tullas did not return to Originheart City for months was because he had been taken to the Abyss by Angel, naturally making it impossible to return to the Wilderness of Dreams. Frode was aware of this, but there was no need to tell Monroe.

Frode laughed, “Don’t worry. Your understanding of Tullas is still too superficial. He has thick skin. He possesses a unique thod of ‘spiritual victory’ that will allow him to heal himself in a few days.”

A thod of spiritual victory? Monroe was sowhat puzzled.

Frode didn’t explain further but continued, “It’s true that Tullas likes to be the center of attention, but his deanor is actually steadier than you think. He sees through many things but chooses not to point them out.”

“Rest assured, in a few days, he’ll co trotting back,” Frode assured.

Frode had also stored things at Dead’s Church, so he knew well that it was monotonous and boring inside. He estimated that Tullas would get bored in a few days, then shalessly ask Angel to take him back to the Wilderness of Dreams.

Hearing this, Monroe was still doubtful but couldn’t question Frode, so he rely nodded and left.

Frode thought it would be a few days until Tullas returned to the Wilderness of Dreams, but, in fact, on the very sa day, Tullas ca back as if nothing had happened, smiling from ear to ear.

Accompanying Tullas was Angel.

Frode imdiately greeted them and murmured softly, “My lord.”

“Have you thought it through outside? Now, it’s ti for you to get to work,” Angel said, looking at Tullas, who in a mont of realization turned and left, muttering:

“Anyway, Sabel is already dead, without a soul, just a wisp of consciousness. What does it matter if he beats ? Let him try to fight in reality.”

“Also, if you count by the age when he was alive, I am much younger than he was. He’s so old, and when I was competing, I was holding back deliberately, intending to lose to him.”

“That’s right, no doubt,”

Muttering various excuses, Tullas seed to regain his morale and swaggered over to the balcony, jumping straight down from the top of Sky Tower.

Because Angel was there, Frode refrained from speaking, but if it had been any other day, he would have started chasing after Tullas and scolding him. Jumping down from here would definitely create a hole in the ground, and it would be a hassle for the city construction team, an unnecessary waste of manpower!

After Tullas left, Frode asked quietly, “My lord, did you co here to see for so reason?”

Angel nodded: “Indeed, there is sothing.”

“Wait a mont, if all goes well, I will bring so people into the Wilderness of Dreams. They are all servants who have watched grow up, and I am very close to them.”

Frode had heard Angel ntion this before, and now that Angel brought it up again, he imdiately understood, “My lord, please rest assured, I will personally make arrangents for them, and I have already set up corresponding tasks for them to ensure they integrate into Originheart City right away.”

While speaking, Frode took out several sheets of paper from the desk and handed them to Angel.

Written on the paper were the tasks that these servants were about to undertake, none of them were authoritative roles, but rather light duties with extensive public contact, which could help them quickly get to know and beco part of Originheart City.

Angel nodded in satisfaction, naturally having full confidence in Frode’s arrangents.

His purpose for coming this ti was to bring Tullas into the city and also discuss the servants’ arrangent with Frode. Having stated his purpose, Angel intended to return to reality first, but on his way out, he accidentally caught sight of so docunts on Frode’s desk.

“Anomalous Events Investigation Report?” Angel looked curiously at the text on the cover, “Haven’t you been recently writing ‘Observations of Dream Wilderness’ Volu Two? What is this then?”

“This is actually related to the second volu’s content as well, it’s about the supplentary chapter on the elusive powers of the Wilderness of Dreams.” Frode replied, “Since the order in Originheart City has been established and the city’s affairs are managed by Monroe, whom I trust very much, I thought about searching for those elusive powers. The Anomaly Investigation Group was specifically set up for that.”

The elusive powers… Angel imdiately recalled that when he first obtained the powers from the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain, there was a part of the power he did not fuse with himself but let dissipate, rging with the Wilderness of Dreams itself.

However, to date, Angel had no idea what the dissipated power was because there had been no anomalies. Of course, power doesn’t necessarily manifest as anomalies, but since it’s power, it’s definitely a form of rule.

The Anomaly Investigation Group established by Frode was seeking out this rule.

After skimming through the “Anomalous Events Investigation Report”, Angel didn’t find anything unusual. Most of it consisted of rumors… the majority of which were just products of the public’s hysteria, which is why almost every report was concluded with Frode’s correction: rumor.

Those not labeled as “rumor” were simply because they hadn’t been verified yet.

After reading the report, Angel had no hopes for this Anomaly Investigation Group.

Rules are like undercurrents lurking in the deep sea; even if you reach the depths, you may not detect these fleeting currents, let alone be sure to step into the deep sea.

To truly find this elusive power, one would probably have to search within the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain itself.

But Frode was ultimately working for his own sake, and Angel didn’t want to discourage him, so he just nodded and offered a few words of praise.

Having left Frode’s place, Angel returned to reality. The mont he opened his eyes, he felt a strong wave of energy coming from afar.

He stepped out onto the balcony to look.

He saw a black tallic flying vehicle, pulled by three vibrant fire phoenixes, flying in from the gloomy horizon.

The fire phoenixes were brilliant red, akin to flas burning at their peak. The trio swept across the sky, spectacularly striking.

The flying vehicle drawn by the fire phoenixes resembled the pumpkin carriage from fairy tales, with an oblate shape, windows, doors, and intricate patterns etched all over.

At the heart of these extending patterns was a motif: a gorge beneath swirling smoke and clouds.

Seeing this badge, or rather this emblem, Angel almost imdiately confird the identity of the visitors.

This emblem was the unique mark of the Witcher Organization’s Storm Gorge, and Suise with his red hair hailed from Storm Gorge, so the owner of the fire phoenix flying vehicle needed no further explanation.

After a series of shrill cries, the fire phoenixes perford a wide loop in the sky and finally, with the exquisite vehicle in tow, ca to rest upon the cloud earth.

Once the flying vehicle touched down, the fire phoenixes released themselves from the reins and stood, sat, or lay near theor, appearing to be quite comfortable.

At that mont, the door of the flying vehicle opened, and two tall n erged first.

It was indeed the conspicuous red-haired Suise and the gentlemanly dressed Sanders.

Once the two of them had landed, a strange force field wrapped in geotric patterns floated out from the vehicle.

Seeing the geotric pattern forming the shield force field, Angel imdiately recognized it; this was his Geotric Lock.

Given that the Geotric Lock was now in an unlocked state, the person inside it, undoubtedly, should be the mastermind they had captured on this trip—Rolando.
