Chapter 1478: Section 1479 Special Judge Chapter 1478: Section 1479 Special Judge Guided by a half-chanical person, Angel arrived at the hall where Kimberly was located.

Unexpectedly, Kimberly’s room was clean, and aside from the tables and chairs, there was hardly any other decoration.

Half-chanical maid servant: “Lord Pat, please wait a few minutes. The lady is currently in the workshop and should be out soon.”

No sooner had she finished speaking than a door materialized not far in front of Angel, its surface adorned with antique bronze bearings, gears, and chains.

This was the door of the Alchemy workshop.

When the door, which clearly symbolized “chanical Alchemy,” swung open, Kimberly, with her magical forest hairstyle, stepped out gracefully.

Kimberly waved to dismiss the scent of fire and rust from her clothes before sitting down.

Kimberly looked at Angel with a smile and unexpectedly said sothing that left Angel sowhat puzzled, “You know, I should actually thank you today.”

“Thank ? What for?”

Kimberly: “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have thought that soon after Fuyi’s return to the Southern Domain, I’d see the reclusive Muse.”

According to the Wizards’ Realm ranking of power, “diocre” Muse was actually slightly weaker than Kimberly. However, Kimberly addressed Muse with respect, revealing the excitent in her heart.

“Does the lady an to say that it was Dean Muse who contacted earlier?” Angel asked, surprised.

Kimberly nodded: “Correct, it was indeed the Dean of the Research Institute, Lord Muse. And, the Beast Emperor was with him.”

“City Lord Rosen was there too?” Angel asked, sowhat puzzled: “What do they want with ?”

The Beast Emperor referred to none other than the ‘chanical Beast Emperor’ Rosen. In Sky chanical City, Rosen’s reputation was on par with Muse’s. While Muse’s Research Institute was responsible for creativity, Rosen’s Main City District was responsible for combat prowess.

The two City Lords jointly upheld the miracle of Yirong Country’s sky.

“I’m not sure about that. Besides leveraging your na to make an impression in front of Lord Muse, I haven’t found out anything else,” Kimberly shrugged: “If you want to know, you’ll have to ask them yourself.”

Angel had co here precisely to understand the purpose of the Research Institute; naturally, he did not mind contacting them directly.

Kimberly: “Then follow , I can’t handle cross-world long-distance ssaging from here.”

Kimberly stood up and led Angel out.

As they walked, Kimberly explained this long-distance communication thod.

It was, in fact, a Signal Tower located in the center of the Soul Realm, exactly like the one Angel had seen at the Moonset Country branch of the Feran Continent.

The Signal Tower was originally under Isabel’s control. However, Isabella is now being forced into “confinent for recuperation,” and Isabel is often in the Garden of Living Souls, so Lady Kimberly has temporarily taken over Isabel’s duties to coordinate with the Black Castle’s outposts.

“Since a few years back, due to the undead chaos, I hadn’t been managing the Signal Tower. Isabella wasn’t handling affairs either, only occasionally contacting Rosen, completely ignoring all other Black Castle outposts. Now that I’ve taken over, I’m so busy I barely have ti for Alchemy, spending all my days re-establishing communication with the outposts,” Kimberly complained unabashedly about Isabella: “I had even planned to find ti to continue our incomplete Alchemy exchange, but these trivial matters have left no free ti at all.”

Kimberly rambled on, and Angel roughly understood the situation. No wonder when he was in Sky chanical City, Sanders tried to contact the Black Castle outposts but failed to reach the Black Castle itself.

They moved through the Soul Realm, passing countless corridors until Kimberly finally brought Angel to the center of the Soul Realm. There stood a Wizard’s Tower, which Angel found very familiar.

“Does it look familiar to you?” Kimberly scoffed: “When Isabella built this Wizard’s Tower, she copied exactly the one Lady Isabel has in the Garden of Living Souls, right down to the furnishings inside.”

Upon closer reflection, Angel realized that this Wizard’s Tower was indeed identical to the one seen previously in the Garden of Living Souls.

Isabella’s ‘obsession with her ntor’ was evident at all tis and places.

“The Signal Tower is on the top floor. Co inside,” Kimberly opened the grand doors of the Wizard’s Tower, and Angel saw the familiar statues lining the corridor. Just as Kimberly had said, even the furnishings in the hall were the sa as those in the Garden of Living Souls.

Kimberly led Angel upwards, quickly arriving at the Signal Tower.

When activating the Signal Tower, Kimberly casually took out nearly a hundred Magic Crystals to serve as the power source without batting an eyelid.

Back then, when Angel was in the branch office, Bismarck used only three Magic Crystals to contact Sky chanical City, yet now the amount was over thirty tis higher. This indicated the terrifying level of energy consumption for cross-world communication.

And this so-called cross “world” referred to an affiliated world of the Southern Domain, not an actual different world.

Angel knew that Sky chanical City had not yet developed a Signal Tower capable of true cross-world communication, and if it ever did, the consumption of Magic Crystals would be so great even Official Wizards would begrudge their use.

Considering this, when Isabella suddenly cut off communication with all the major outposts, it’s likely that in addition to the chaos caused by the undead, the frightening consumption of Magic Crystals also played a role.

After all, not everyone is an alchemist like Kimberly, who can scoop up Magic Crystals by the handful.

Kimberly quickly manipulated the settings of the Signal Tower, and as the holographic screen slowly erged, so did the image.

“Kimberly?” a cold, tallic male voice ca from the other side.

“It’s .” Kimberly glanced at the holographic screen, which displayed a handso man in black attire.

Not seeing Muse, she couldn’t help but droop her mouth slightly. Before the man on the other side could squint, a thumb-sized Illusory Spirit sprang from the magical forest on Kimberly’s hair, bent towards the screen in a courteous bow, as if to greet.

The man on the screen was none other than the “chanical Beast Emperor” Rosen.

Rosen did not bother with Kimberly’s bizarre hairdo but instead shifted his gaze to another person beside her—

“Lord Rosen.” Angel greeted respectfully.

Rosen scanned Angel from top to bottom. A flicker of complex emotions passed through his usually cold and ruthless eyes, but it disappeared just as quickly. “Wizard Pat, your progress to this point in such a short ti is beyond my expectations.”

From Rosen’s address, it was apparent that he must have been aware of Angel’s advancent.

Angel: “A bit of luck, and so good fortune.”

“No matter what, it is still your strength. You could have…” Rosen was halfway through his sentence when a casual, lazy voice ca from behind him: “Is that Angel? You’ve finally shown up… tsk, tsk, I didn’t expect you to stir up such a fuss.”

A face with a lazy smile erged from behind Rosen and waved cheerfully at Angel.

This person was the director of the research institute, standing at the peak of the Southern Alchemy Realm, self-proclaid “diocre,” Muse.

“Director Muse.” After greeting, Angel said, “I heard from Mrs. Kimberly just now that the director was looking for ?”

“Let’s set aside those trifles for now. Why don’t we talk about you first?” Muse said with a broad smile.

“Talk about ? What’s there to talk about .”

“There’s plenty to talk about. Right now, in Sky chanical City, no one is discussed more than you,” Muse pointed at Angel. “You should know, even in Fantasy chanical City, I’ve heard rumors about you.”

“When you were at the research institute, I totally didn’t see you had any intentions of advancing. How did you suddenly advance without a sound? If not for Mrs. Kimberly’s confirmation, I wouldn’t have believed it.”

Muse’s words ca out like a barrage of cannonballs, finally stopping and then returning to the previous question: “How did you suddenly advance?”

“Accident and good fortune,” Angel’s response remained the sa.

Muse did not believe it but, seeing that Angel was unwilling to answer, he could only sigh: “Alright, if you don’t want to talk about it, I won’t force you.”

Finally, after a lot of irrelevant talk, Muse returned to the main topic.

When Muse explained the reason he was looking for Angel, Angel’s eyes glazed over: “You’re saying, have serve as a judge for the New Star Competition?”

“Precisely, as a special guest judge, and there’s no requirent for you to do anything.”

In essence, it was to judge the outco. For the final few rounds of the New Star Competition, to ensure fairness, there were actually several judges. By inviting Angel to be a special guest judge, he could contribute his own opinions, or do nothing at all, as there were other judges present.

It did sound like an easy task, but Angel couldn’t quite understand why they would choose him for it.

The New Star Competition wasn’t organized by Sky chanical City, so was it appropriate for him, an outsider, to serve as a judge?

“There will be several special guest judges, including two who are not from Sky chanical City. If you agree, you’ll just be one of them,” Muse seed to perceive Angel’s confusion and explained.

“Why choose ?” Angel asked.

“Because you’ve been quite famous lately,” Muse said with a teasing smile, “Of course, that’s just a joke. But you’ve just beco a mber of the research institute; shouldn’t you make an appearance? Also, this is a task from the research institute. Although it’s not compulsory, it can award a substantial amount of points.”

The research institute’s points could be exchanged for special materials, serving as a benefit for its mbers.

“Speaking of which, I’ve heard that recently all the major magazines in Sky chanical City are trying by all ans to contact Black Castle to confirm whether you’ve really advanced. By serving as a special guest judge, you can also put a perfect end to this swirling controversy.”

“Besides, you haven’t decided on a title yet, right? It’s a good opportunity to settle your official appearance and title at the sa ti.”

“Most importantly, I really want to see what kind of reactions those who were once your peers and who pride themselves as geniuses will have when they see you?” Muse said with a sly, amused grin.

Angel felt, sohow, that this last reason was Muse’s true intention.
