Chapter 1787: Section 1788: The Light That Pierces the Void

The light was extrely dazzling, like a bomb exploding in the night, instantly outlining the silhouettes of people in the darkness.

Moreover, the light was small at first, but it grew bigger and bigger as ti went on.

It seed as if it started from the depths of the distant void, but now it was getting closer, until finally, it passed through the vortex.

The intense white light dispelled the darkness. But the sky had not returned to daylight; the blinding light was more frightening than the previous deep darkness… Darkness might be the hopelessness before the end of the world, while the current white light was more like the death instant of the apocalypse.

At this mont, all who witnessed this scene had blank minds.

As if in the next mont, they would be obliterated by the “light of doom.”

However, after waiting for a while, they didn’t feel anything. There was no apocalypse, and their bodies showed no abnormalities, apart from the light being sowhat dazzling; it was no different from usual, just as before when they couldn’t sense any ominous signs.

What’s going on?

The apprentices and mortals on the streets hesitated for a mont and looked up. They found that the light coming from the depths of the void had really arrived, but… it didn’t land on the ground; instead, it passed over their heads.

A hundred miles away on the mountain peak—

Angel did not pause, he opened the door three tis in succession, taking everyone to a place not covered by “darkness and light.”

Here, the sky remained azure, there were no more tingling sensations on the scalp, nor did the forehead twitch. Clearly, they had moved outside the range of the ominous signs.

Greya, feeling her still pounding heartbeat, let out a long breath of relief. Then she turned her head and noticed Angel’s pale face: “Are you okay?”

Angel shook his head: “I’m okay, just a bit tired from opening doors repeatedly.”

After advancing to an Official Wizard, opening doors repeatedly didn’t really consu much energy, but only if he entered alone. However, bringing more people would double the energy consumption, and now he had brought four people in continuous transit, so he was naturally a bit worn out.

Sanders reached out and touched Angel’s shoulder, a gentle energy imdiately circulated through his body.

Angel felt quite relieved from discomfort.

“The consumption is indeed significant, but a day or two of rest should be sufficient for recovery,” Sanders said.

Angel nodded, agreeing with this sentint.

After confirming that Angel was really okay, Greya focused her attention on the previously ominous signs: “What was that just now?”

No one could answer her, so Greya refocused her gaze on the distant horizon.

Although they were far from Sky chanical City now, they could still vaguely see the hazy scenarios beneath the shrouded darkness.

At that mont, the light was passing across the sky.

Greya also noticed it and followed that light closely with her gaze, seemingly trying to analyze what it actually was.

However, the distance was too great, and she dared not extend her spiritual power into the dark region, so she remained empty-handed.

“The trajectory of that light doesn’t seem like it’s going to fall on Sky chanical City; how was it ford? What is its destination? And why do others seem to feel nothing at all?”

Each of Greya’s questions mirrored the doubts in everyone’s hearts.

As everyone began to ponder this, suddenly the sky far off intensified with light! The entire Sky chanical City was seemingly encircled by light. The blinding light even radiated to the area where they were.

Uncertain whether there was danger, Greya instinctively closed her eyes and cast a Defense Spell.

But the light didn’t last long; it quickly vanished.

Greya, hesitating, opened her eyes and looked towards the distant Sky chanical City.

The light was gone, the huge void rift in the sky seed to be gradually repairing, and the genuine daylight seed to be reviving.

And Sky chanical City appeared unchanged. The only difference was that the light had vanished sowhere unknown.

“What happened when the light intensified earlier?” Greya asked others, as she had closed her eyes and was unaware of the situation at the ti.

Yet Sanders and Horus shook their heads. Although they kept observing the sky, the distance was excessively far, and there was light covering; even using special spell techniques they couldn’t discern what transpired. Moreover, the previous ominous signs arrived fiercely and quickly, they dared not extend their spiritual power into the darkness, otherwise, relying on spiritual power they could potentially see the exact situation.

Greya sighed, evidently, understanding what specifically happened would have to wait until things settled and then investigate thoroughly.

While Greya was feeling disappointed, Angel suddenly said, “I saw it.”

Angel’s voice imdiately captured everyone’s attention.

Even the two True Knowledge Wizards hadn’t seen anything, so how did Angel see it? Didn’t he dare to extend his spiritual powers into the dark region?

Everyone looked at Angel both surprised and curious as Angel quietly said: “When I opened the door, I left a Scouting Puppet in the city.”

“Oh, that’s it,” Greya exclaid in Enlightennt.

Using Alchemy Tools as an extension of sight. In most circumstances, it certainly isn’t as useful as spell techniques or spiritual explorations, but in such situations, a Scouting Puppet was the best choice.

“Were you able to see clearly what that light was? Why did it suddenly disappear?” Greya asked.

As Greya finished her sentence, Horus’s cold voice ca through: “How’s the Barbarian Cave’s camp situation, are they… still alive?”

Angel answered Horus’s question first: “That light didn’t seem to directly affect life, now Sky chanical City aside from so noise, there are no other anomalies.”

Through the Scouting Puppet, Angel clearly saw that everyone was alive and showed no signs of injury.

Horus exhaled a little at this, as he was currently in charge of the Barbarian Cave’s site, naturally most concerned about his subordinates’ situation.

Angel paused then addressed Greya’s question: “As for what that light specifically was, I didn’t see. But I saw it finally rushing towards the Central District.”

This ant, the light disappeared in the Central District.

Greya mused to herself: they previously guessed the light might not land on Sky chanical City and turned out incorrect; it did settle down, however, it didn’t cause significant damage.

But what in the Central District might have attracted that light?

As everyone frowned over this undiscovered mystery, Asaz, who had always been overlooked, suddenly raised his hand weakly:

“That light penetrating the void… seems like an arrow.”
