Chapter 2188: Chapter 2189: Path of Light

Angel could understand Vespani’s stance, but if the information was really about him, it’s likely the Fire of Magic, Midir, had already known about his coveting of the Elental Sprites.

So, how would Midir react?

After Vespani spread the information, he slowly descended and sat at the cave entrance.

Angel didn’t intend to expose Vespani, preferring to wait and see, curious about what Midir’s next move would be. Would he react imdiately, or stay put? Anyway, Angel was confident, as he hadn’t actually taken any Elental Sprites yet.

Thinking of this, Angel instructed Earl Mi to continue monitoring the outside changes, while he closed his eyes and entered the Wilderness of Dreams.

Angel entered the New City Construction Area.

Compared to the previous desolation, the New City Construction Area was now bustling, with buildings of exotic styles rising from the ground, and people busy going in and out.

Most of the people here were Wizards who had recently arrived from the Barbarian Cave, among them many Apprentices handling construction tasks.

Among them, Angel saw familiar faces, such as one person he had t before in a small cabin not far away.

It was a standalone tin cabin, resembling the elents of the Steam Age at first glance, but the roofs incorporated oriental style flying eaves. The fusion of these two completely different styles didn’t clash but felt quite intriguing.

The sign outside the cabin read “Whispers in the Night”.

The na seed mysterious, yet it was actually a tailor’s shop. Inside, a young female apprentice was busy tailoring clothes, with black waterfall-like hair, erald eyes, and striking beauty, her most distinctive feature being her elf-like pointed ears.

Angel hadn’t interacted with this apprentice before, but he knew of her.

“Witch of the Night” Sibyla.

The reason Angel knew her na was because her ntor was “Sage of the Night” Kaylar.

Angel did not conceal his gaze, and though Sibyla was working, her keen inspiration made her aware of his stare.

Sibyla lifted her head in confusion and looked over. When she saw Angel, she was first taken aback, then displayed an incredulous expression.

Though Angel rarely showed himself publicly after advancing, he was very famous among the apprentices of the Barbarian Cave, as he was the only one in recent years to have crossed the Wizard-level divide and was a mber of the Research and Developnt Institute. Sibyla had even heard that this strange world was developed under Angel’s leadership…

Amidst Sibyla’s shocked gaze, Angel walked over.

Angel greeted Sibyla proactively.

Under her slightly shy gaze, Angel slowly opened his mouth and said, “Pardon my intrusion, ma’am, but has there been any news from Serum lately?”

The reason Angel approached her was that Sibyla and Serum shared the sa ntor.

Seeing Sibyla reminded him of Serum. He wondered if Serum had recovered after his sleep under the Black Classic. Moreover, Angel had heard from his brother Lyon that Serum had recently disappeared, seemingly leaving the Sky chanical City; who knows where he went?

“Sir, are you referring to Mr. Pustin?” Sibyla took a deep breath, suppressing her shy expression and regaining her usual composure.

“Yes.” Angel nodded.

Sibyla had also heard about Serum’s acquaintance with Angel; she tidied up her words and slowly said, “Serum participated in the New Star Tournant and hasn’t returned since. I don’t know much about him either. But I heard from my ntor that there seems to be a problem with his Prison Codex, and he might be coming back to have the ntor take a look at it recently.”

A knowing look flashed in Angel’s eyes; it seed Serum was not in Sky chanical City because he was preparing to return to the Barbarian Cave.

“I see, thank you, ma’am.” After learning the news about Serum, Angel didn’t engage much further with Sibyla, nodding politely before leaving the tailor’s shop.

Sibyla watched Angel’s departing figure, lost in thought for a long ti.

After leaving “Whispers in the Night,” Angel made his way to the command center outside the New City, where there were nurous buildings intended for task dispatch before the city opened, as well as the city planning center.

Angel arrived at the provisional city hall, where he had sensed through the Gate of Dreams authority before entering the Wilderness of Dreams that the Tree Spirit was present.

He intended to inquire with the Tree Spirit if there had been any changes at the relic during his absence, the progress of the Wilderness of Dreams, and Sanders’ situation.

The city hall was large and spacious, and Angel navigated familiar turns until he reached the room where the Tree Spirit resided.

To Angel’s surprise, the door to the room was not locked, and he saw not only the Tree Spirit but also soone he was very familiar with.

Dororo.

Seeing Angel’s arrival, the Tree Spirit was sowhat surprised, “Dororo was just asking about you, and here you are, what a coincidence.”

Angel looked at Dororo, who responded with a gentle smile.

“Perhaps it’s not just a coincidence?” Angel walked to Dororo’s side and sat down.

The Tree Spirit paused for a second, seemingly realizing sothing, and looked at Dororo with complex eyes, “Could it be you knew Angel would co here, so you ca?”

Dororo pondered for a mont, “I didn’t know; this world almost blocks my divination.”

The Tree Spirit muttered, “That’s more like it…”

However, before the words were finished, Dororo said: “I felt a psychic intuition that there might be a gain coming here today, so I ca.”

Tree Spirit: “…” Psychic intuition? How is this different from prophecy?

Tree Spirit looked at Dororo with a palpitating gaze. This guy is truly becoming more and more abnormal, even more so than Maya. Even in this Wilderness of Dreams where prophetic abilities are suppressed to the extre, he can still manage to pull off so psychic intuition.

Angel observed Tree Spirit’s changing expression for a mont and then turned to look at Dororo beside him: “Did you have sothing to discuss?”

Dororo nodded and whispered a few words in Angel’s ear.

After listening, Angel furrowed his brows slightly. After a pause, he nodded to Dororo: “I understand.”

Having finished speaking, Dororo stood up and bowed slightly to Angel: “I’ve said all I needed to; I’ll take my leave.”

Angel did not ask him to stay, as the matters he planned to inquire about involved high-level secrets of the Barbarian Cave, which Dororo did not need to be exposed to for the ti being; perhaps that’s why Dororo sensed it and took the initiative to leave.

After Dororo departed, Tree Spirit looked at Angel: “What were you two discussing? Sothing about the Starry Path?”

Angel chuckled: “Those aren’t very important matters.”

Though Tree Spirit looked dubious, he refrained from asking further: “What brings you to ? By the way, I heard from Frode that you’ve returned to the Old Earth Continent?”

Angel returned to reality by the next day.

After consulting Earl Mi, he confird that no creatures had arrived the whole night.

“No reaction from Fire Elent Midir?” Angel felt puzzled and muttered to himself: “Or is it waiting to respond until I actually abduct the Elental Sprites?”

Unable to comprehend the situation, Angel temporarily set it aside.

With no Elental Sprites coming from outside at the mont, Angel sat in the room pondering the events in the Wilderness of Dreams.

He asked Tree Spirit about recent activities at the Barbarian Cave; the advancent plans for the Wilderness of Dreams were proceeding smoothly under secrecy, the main structure of the Tea Party was beginning construction, and although there hadn’t been any overt movents from Seeds, there had been so signs.

The situation at the Barbarian Cave was generally promising, but noteworthy was that Sanders hadn’t logged in for so ti; it remains unknown what the issue might be.

Angel made a ntal note of this, though he wasn’t overly concerned given Sanders’ prowess, assuming there’d likely be no major issues; perhaps sothing was occurring on Flora’s side leading to no login.

Despite his confidence in Sanders’ abilities, Angel set a marker as a precaution: Should Sanders enter the Wilderness of Dreams, the Ability Tree would promptly alert him.

Aside from this, what most caught Angel’s attention was what Dororo ntioned to him.

At the ti, Dororo whispered in Angel’s ear: “I have seen that image too.”

“You walk in the darkness, ahead is a glowing path.”

This was the prophecy image Hua Que Que saw previously. Angel hadn’t paid much attention then, due to the random nature of prophecy images, which might not be significant. Hua Que Que’s vision could very well involve him strolling at night and the glowing path might simply be the street lamps illuminating the sidewalk.

Yet now, Dororo inford him that he saw the sa image too.

Two prophetic Baiyuan Clan talents having seen the sa prophecy image caused Angel to suspect sothing was amiss.

Perhaps the image hinted at so kind of secret?

While Angel was pondering without gaining any insight, Earl Mi transmitted a ntal pulse: “Faith Pan Rui is heading towards the cave.”

Angel set his thoughts aside temporarily and opened the door.

Faith Pan Rui was sowhat surprised to see Angel open the door: “I didn’t expect Sir to also co out—I have sothing to discuss with you.”

“What is it?” Angel noticed that Faith Pan Rui’s gaze held a sense of solemnity and seriousness, seemingly weighed down by concerns.

Faith Pan Rui: “Sothing feels off. Based on Dangross’s progress from yesterday, so of its underlings should have arrived three hours ago… Even if Elental Creatures are busy, Elental Sprites should be here, but none have appeared, which is odd.”

Angel thought for a mont and found it peculiar as well, considering it’s already midmorning, and Elental Sprites, even if resting at night, should have awakened by now. Yet indeed, not a single one had shown up.

Angel’s eyes subtly shifted; could it be that Fire Elent Midir has acted?

If Fire Elent Midir truly knew of his intentions regarding Elental Creatures, it might indeed have the power to directly order all Elental Creatures to avoid approaching here.

Faith Pan Rui: “So I’m considering going out to see what’s happening.”

Angel scrutinized Faith Pan Rui deeply. If his hypothesis held true, perhaps Faith Pan Rui, rather than wanting to understand the situation, intended to distance himself from here?

After so thought, Angel ultimately agreed to Faith Pan Rui’s request.

He also wished to discern what Fire Elent Midir intended—its isolation of all fire-elent creatures; is it planning to initiate a conflict with him? But clearly, he had only coveted them without taking any action—would Fire Elent Midir really break ties so abruptly?
