Damian heard her murmuring like this, and a smile spread in his eyes, "Acker the Puppy, have you learned your lesson this ti? Let’s see if you dare to twist the facts again in the future."
Bella Acker pouted, "Even heaven is biased, always bullying an honest person like . Humph."
Others might not know, but how could he not?
Bella Acker might look soft and easily bullied, but she was actually quite crafty. If she didn’t want to, she wouldn’t let herself be bullied obediently.
The bathroom floor was also covered with thick carpets, and though Bella Acker was actually hurt when she fell earlier, nothing serious happened.
Bella Acker felt comfortable being rubbed and humd a couple of tis before suddenly becoming serious, "Damian, I’m sorry."
"Hmm?" Damian continued his actions, responding lowly.
"For misunderstanding you, and for saying so many things that hurt your feelings, anyway, I’m very very sorry." Bella Acker said, "Damian, I will trust you from now on, and won’t misunderstand you again."
"What else?" Damian asked.
"Also..." Bella Acker’s voice lowered significantly, pausing for a mont before continuing, "Also about the child, I didn’t want to terminate the pregnancy, either."
Damian’s hand, which was massaging her, stiffened a little. Her insistence on terminating the pregnancy was indeed a significant wound for him.
Even though so ti had passed, Bella Acker still felt heartache when she thought of that child she was destined not to have.
It was their first child, holding a particularly unique aning. But fate played such a cruel joke on them, and all the regret and heartache couldn’t bring back the child’s tiny life.
The only thing she could do now was to always rember that child, to keep the child living forever in her heart.
Bella Acker lay on his thigh, tears falling and wetting his pants.
Feeling a pang in his heart, Damian lifted her to sit on his lap before saying, "I know what’s more important to . The child... we will have more in the future."
"Hmm." Bella Acker nodded while crying, tears streaming down her small face, choking on her words, "Damian, do you know? I was so sad when there was no child; I almost wanted to trade my life for the child’s. But... but after the doctor checked repeatedly, they still couldn’t find the child’s heartbeat. Do you think the child didn’t like as a mother, so they went off to find another mom quickly as soon as possible? Damian, am I such a failure?"
"What did you say? The child didn’t have a heartbeat?"
"Hmm. That morning when I went for a checkup, Dr. Warren told . I wanted to tell you myself, so I asked her not to say anything. But... but then other things happened, and I misunderstood..."
"Misunderstood that I might not care whether the child was alive or dead?" Damian felt both angry and heartbroken. He didn’t have to imagine how hard it was for her to hear that news at the ti.
Yet she didn’t tell him anything afterward, bearing the pain of losing the child alone. How silly was she to shoulder such a heavy burden by herself, and even let him misunderstand her!
Bella Acker nodded through her tears. It was really despairing at that ti. If it weren’t for eting Sandra Woods, she didn’t know if she could have pulled through.
"Fool!" Damian pressed her head into his chest, gently patting her back to ease her breathing.
Bella Acker sobbed, nestling in his embrace for a long ti before catching her breath.
