A girl with a charming smile and dimples was holding Damian Sinclair’s arm, laughing as she spoke, "Your work takes forever to finish, I’m starving, you must treat to sothing delicious as compensation."
Damian’s usually cold expression softened into a smile, like snow lting and spring returning, "Okay. What do you want to eat?"
"Can I eat whatever I want?"
"Mm."
"Then I want Sichuan cuisine, and it has to be extrely spicy. I haven’t been able to eat it abroad all these years, I’m craving it."
"Alright, whatever you want."
The two chatted as they walked out.
Bella Acker hid behind her cubicle, feeling like a ridiculous fool.
So Damian hadn’t been coming ho because his true beloved had returned. He was too busy accompanying her; how could he possibly rember a little plaything like Bella?
Only she was foolish enough to still want to ask him if he ever truly had a sliver of affection for her, even just a tiny bit...
Bella Acker wasn’t even sure how she had left Rexton Tower; her mind felt muddled, unable to think clearly.
Her heart was unbearably painful, like her entire chest was being squeezed, making it hard to breathe, yet she simply couldn’t cry anymore.
It turns out that sotis when you feel extre pain, you truly can’t shed tears.
So people are vulnerable, they cry because they know there’s soone who cares for them, comforts them. But what about her?
No one comforts her, no one cares for her; those tears, aside from making her even more wretched, what purpose do they serve?
Bella didn’t know how long she had been wandering outside like a ghost. It wasn’t until dusk that she took a taxi back to the villa.
The lights were on in the villa’s hall; could Damian have returned?
Bella was startled, her mind didn’t have ti to react before she rushed inside.
Special Assistant Lawson was startled by the loud sound of the door being pushed open. Upon seeing who had entered, he stood up and said, "Ms. Acker, you’re back."
Bella glanced around, but Damian was nowhere to be seen. Of course, how could he be back now? She was foolish to naively think...
"Hello." Bella didn’t know Special Assistant Lawson, so she nodded in greeting, "Are you specifically waiting for ?"
"Yes," Lawson replied, "The Boss asked to help Ms. Acker pack her belongings and temporarily move to an apartnt in Brelen District."
His beloved had just returned, and he couldn’t wait to drive Bella away?
He didn’t care about her feelings, nor did he care whether the baby in her belly was fine.
Bella Acker, why do you still hold onto those unrealistic fantasies? Isn’t this enough to make you completely give up?
Lawson noticed Bella’s face was pale and asked with concern, "Ms. Acker, are you feeling unwell?" He knew the Boss took extraordinary care with Ms. Acker and couldn’t be disregarded.
"I’m fine," Bella forced a smile, "I don’t have much stuff, just give the address, I’ll go by myself."
Lawson was a bit hesitant, but seeing her determination, he thought for a mont and took out a business card from his bag and handed it over, "If Ms. Acker needs help, feel free to call anyti."
"Thank you," Bella said as she took the business card.
"Then I’ll take my leave, goodbye."
Bella didn’t see Lawson out; she stood alone in the empty first-floor hall, looking around, suddenly feeling unbelievably unfamiliar with the place she’s lived for five years.
The unfamiliarity made her want to flee imdiately.
