Damian Sinclair originally planned to give the downtown apartnt to Bella Acker.
As for putting Bella Acker’s phone number on the blacklist, it doesn’t seem like a real decision to end the relationship; rather, it seems more like he’s being petty.
He’s mad at her, but even more so at himself!
When it cos to his feelings for her, he’s so nitpicky, so worried about gains and losses, so ungenerous, so unlike himself!
Bea talked for quite a while and realized there was no sound from the other end of the phone. She couldn’t help but ask, "Bro, are you listening to ?"
"Yeah," Damian said. "I’ll handle this matter, you don’t have to worry about it."
Bea sighed, "Alright, if you don’t want to get involved, I won’t. But bro, I really like that silly Bella Acker. As long as it doesn’t involve you, I can still be friends with her, right?"
"That’s between you two, I won’t interfere," Damian said. "I’m driving, gotta go." With that, he hung up the phone.
Bea rolled her eyes when she heard the dial tone and called Bella Acker again.
This ti, it rang for a while before Bella Acker picked up, her voice clearly hoarse from crying, "Hello, Bea."
"Hey, no way, you’ve been crying again?" Bea said helplessly. "I used to not believe that won were made of water, but after eting you, I really have to believe it. Why do you cry so easily?"
Bella Acker sniffed, her voice thick with a nasal tone, and said softly, "I’m not crying anymore."
"Yes, yes, how impressive, Bella, you’ve learned not to cry. Do you want a little red flower as a reward?" Bea teased her.
Holding her phone, Bella Acker couldn’t help but smile through her tears and pouted, "When others see soone cry, they comfort them. Who does it like you?"
"If I wasn’t like this, would you laugh?" Bea rolled her eyes. "Where are you now?"
"I’m at the orphanage."
"Why did my brother drop you off at the orphanage instead of sending you back to the apartnt this late?"
"I haven’t visited the kids here in a long ti. I had planned to co see them after celebrating Damian’s birthday back in Creston," Bella Acker said, pausing for a mont. "Oh, by the way, you might not know but I grew up as an orphan right here in this orphanage."
Bea genuinely didn’t know.
"So, can an extra person stay over there?" Bea asked.
"Huh?"
"Huh what?" Bea said in a very queenly tone, "I’ve helped you so much, why can’t you let crash for a night?"
"No, that’s not what I ant." Bella Acker explained, "You can stay, I’m just worried the conditions here aren’t great, and you might not be comfortable."
"Comfortable or not, who cares," Bea said. "When I was abroad, once I got so fed up with the hospital sll that I ran off by myself. I had no money or phone, didn’t even know where I ended up, until two patrolling cops found and took back to the hospital. I wasn’t scared then, why would I be now? Give the address, I’ll cab over."
Bella Acker obediently gave her the address and then hung up.
An old caregiver at the orphanage looked at her, "Bella, what’s up?"
"It’s nothing, just a friend coming over." Bella Acker forced a smile and shook her head, "Aunt Sienna, please take care of the kids while they eat, I’m going to change the sheets and duvet cover."
