In the past, he had seen too many actresses at gatherings, either voluntarily or passively being forced to drink.
He always acted like a passerby, neither getting involved in the drinking gas, nor helping anyone talk their way out of it.
He was just an observer, watching those actresses desperately try to showcase themselves for a chance to climb higher.
But today, looking at the drunk girl in front of him, his heart ached imnsely, wishing he could turn back ti to when she had her first drink. He would have stopped her from drinking at any cost, so she wouldn’t feel even the slightest discomfort.
Archer Quinn was incredibly distressed, gently patting Bella Acker’s back, and softly asked, "Bella, are you feeling any better?"
Bella Acker finished vomiting. Her head was still spinning, and her legs were equally weak, but her stomach no longer felt the discomfort of churning.
"Mm," Bella Acker mumbled in response.
Archer Quinn wasn’t bothered by the ss, moving the trash can aside and taking a paper cup from the tools laid next to the sink, filled it with water, and handed it to her, "Here, rinse your mouth."
Bella Acker remained squatting on the ground, silently accepting the cup to drink and rinse her mouth.
Archer Quinn gently said, "Drinking so glucose later will make you feel a lot better."
"Mm," Bella Acker replied in a low voice, but her tone was tinged with tears.
Archer Quinn’s heart tightened as he raised her small face to find, unbeknownst to him, that she had started crying.
Seeing her tears, all Archer Quinn felt was heartache.
"Bella, what’s wrong? Did soone bully you?" Archer Quinn wiped the tears from her cheeks, saying, "Tell , and I’ll teach him a lesson for you."
"Senior Quinn, I... I just feel terrible." Bella Acker’s tears, urged on by alcohol, kept falling.
"Be good, Bella, I’m always here with you no matter what happens, so don’t feel bad." Archer Quinn held her tenderly in his arms, gently patting and soothing her.
Whether Bella Acker heard his words or not, she tightly gripped his clothes, tearfully muttering to herself, "Why doesn’t he call ? I’m so afraid of losing him like this. Just the thought of my future with no relation to him makes so sad. What should I do? Why hasn’t he called , I’m waiting so anxiously..."
Her head was likely spinning to the point of losing reason, venting all the painful emotions she’d repressed over the past few days, fueled by the alcohol.
Listening to her quiet lant, Archer Quinn felt a sharp, stabbing pain in his heart, like a needle piercing it.
It turns out, she is so upset because of another man.
That man hurt her, yet she still waits for him, loves him, and likes him!
Suddenly, Archer Quinn felt a surge of almost angry jealousy. Jealous of how effortlessly that man received her affection, angry at that man for hurting her so, making her suffer so much, and even angrier at himself for not having a clear stand to protect her.
Even to speak his mind, he had to do it when she was drunk, knowing she’d forget it all co morning.
Archer Quinn held the girl in his arms with a pained expression, so wanting to say, "He doesn’t know how to cherish you, let love and cherish you, okay?"
But the words stuck in his throat, unable to co out.
Because he knew of her stubbornness, if she beca aware of his feelings, without being able to reciprocate, she would only keep her distance and steadily grow apart from him, never allowing any ambiguous relationship.
