Archer Quinn heard the soft sound of the door closing, only then did he lift his hand to brush away the strands of hair on Bella Acker’s cheek, gently saying, "Silly girl, even in your sleep, you furrow your brow. Why are there so many things that worry you?"
His fingertips tenderly caressed her little face, inch by inch, with eyes filled with deep affection that couldn’t be shown in front of others.
Bella felt a subtle itch on her face, furrowed her brow, and slowly opened her eyes.
Archer withdrew his hand before she fully woke up and looked at her with a smile.
"Senior Quinn, you’re awake!" Bella exclaid in surprise as she lifted her head, "I’ll go call the doctor."
Before she could finish speaking, the door to the ward opened from the outside, and the assistant ca in with the doctor.
Bella realized the situation and asked shyly, "Senior Quinn, you’ve been awake for a while. Why didn’t you wake up?"
"No, I just woke up," Archer replied with a smile.
As they spoke, the doctor and nurse approached, and Bella stepped aside while the doctor began to examine Archer.
"Nothing major, just stay in the hospital for one more day for observation, and if there are no adverse reactions, you can be discharged. Be careful not to bump your head again," the doctor reminded, listing so precautions, and the nurse replaced the IV bottle before they left.
The assistant, quite perceptive, winked discreetly at Archer and said, "Brother Quinn, I’ll give Brother Sutton a call to let him know you’re awake."
"Alright," Archer nodded, "Tell him there’s nothing wrong with my health."
"Okay." The assistant nodded at Bella and then left the ward to make the call.
Bella poured a cup of warm water and brought it over, "Senior Quinn, would you like so water?"
"Thank you." Archer attempted to take the water but found it uncomfortable to sit up, "Bella, can you adjust the bed a bit for ?"
"Like this?" Bella found the crank at the foot of the bed and raised the head of the bed slightly, allowing Archer to lean comfortably.
"Yes." Archer nodded, and Bella stepped forward to hand over the warm water placed at the bedside.
Archer drank half the cup, and his dry mouth finally felt relief, "Bella, my assistant is here to take care of everything. You should go see Mr. Sinclair."
Bella shook her head and picked up an apple, peeling it as she said, "You just woke up, and the doctor said you still need to be observed for another day. I won’t go now."
"Silly girl, did you forget why you rushed back to Creston?" Archer said gently, "There’s really no problem on my end. You should go. If taking care of delays your happiness, I’ll feel guilty for the rest of my life."
Hearing this, Bella paused and looked up at him.
Archer smiled, "Go ahead. If anything cos up, give a call."
Bella pursed her lips, "Senior Quinn, then... I’ll go look for Damian first. If he’s alright, I’ll co back imdiately."
"Haha, why would you co back? To watch sleep, or continue sleeping at my bedside?" Archer laughed, "If Mr. Sinclair is fine, go ho, take a shower, and have a good sleep. If you’re really worried about , co back tomorrow during the day. And make sure to show up looking refreshed; I don’t want to see a worn-out face."
Bella chuckled, and Archer continued, "Go on now, Mr. Sinclair is probably waiting for you, too."
