"So she wanted you to keep an eye on the people she hired as rcenaries?" Cassian asked as they talked about why Brigid had placed the other cultists on a different ship, leaving Kirja alone on this one.
"Not just ..." she said, glancing at him before adding, "you too..."
They were both lying there, still naked.
One of her legs rested over Cassian as they lay on their sides, close together, his arm around her while his hand stayed on her thigh, holding her a little closer.
Kirja had hated it at first—lying naked with him—but she was, by nature, soone who loved comfort and tended to be a bit lazy when she could afford it. And right now... this was comfortable.
Cassian chuckled, amused. The last ti they’d t, she’d claid she couldn’t even go a few seconds without wanting him. And now, she’d arranged for him to be on a completely different ship for what felt like a pointless reason.
She said it was to avoid suspicion, but even with the cultists mixed in among the rcenaries, splitting them across two ships still seed risky.
"Well... who knows," Cassian said. "She might have other plans I’m not aware of." He paused before adding, "I don’t think there’ll be any troublemakers here, but outside... that’s a different story."
He let out a small breath. "Pirate activity has gone up a lot lately. Ever since Magisteria and the others moved their navies to protect key ports and strongholds..."
That didn’t worry her at all. Instead, a hint of excitent lit up her face.
"That sounds fun," she said with a slight grin. "I’ve never really fought people from outside before..."
"They’re not that different from cultists..." Cassian said, not really surprised. Many cultists hadn’t been outside much anyway. He himself didn’t even know where the main cult bases were—no one was allowed to talk about them, so they wouldn’t be discovered.
"So are just like us. So care more about honor and that kind of stuff. So can even be kind, like a few cultists..." he shrugged slightly. "But we probably won’t run into anyone out in these seas."
"You sound like you’ve t a few," she said, a bit curious. She didn’t know much about him—just that he was tied to Lady Brigid.
"Well, yeah. I used to live among them before I got forced into becoming lady brigid’s slave," Cassian said casually, leaning in for another kiss.
Kirja looked a bit surprised at that. "So you’re an outsider? I didn’t know that..."
Cassian knew that once you start lying, you have to keep it going. He had already prepared a few more in advance. Noticing the curiosity in her eyes—whether he hated the cult or Brigid—he shrugged casually.
"Yeah, but it’s not much different. She treats well... lets do what I want, so being part of the cult isn’t really a problem."
Her expression imdiately twisted back into disgust. "You really are just a horny dog, aren’t you?"
Cassian smirked again and leaned in, kissing her a bit deeper. "That’s what makes it so easy for to blend in with you cultists..."
Kirja scoffed. "Can’t really argue with that. I saw you with Cardinal Analisa—she’s quite sothing..." She paused, then added, "But how do you even manage that? She’s dangerous, and you handle her like she’s your bitch?"
Cassian smiled proudly. "What can I say? I’m just that good..." Then, with a teasing smirk, he added, "Don’t tell you weren’t enjoying it just now..."
"I wasn’t," she replied, though a faint blush gave her away. After a mont, she sighed. "Fine... you are good fucking. Just... it would’ve been better if you weren’t forcing it on ..."
"Well, you weren’t forcing it on , so soone had to be the one doing the forcing..." Cassian added, his hands sliding lower along her, pulling her closer and adjusting her position until their bodies were pressed as tightly together as possible. "Or how we gonna have sex?"
Her chest was firmly against his, their stomachs touching, leaving almost no space between them. She didn’t pull away—instead, she stayed close, even wrapping her arms around him, while his other arm rested beneath her head like a pillow.
That made her glare as she asked, "You ss around with so many girls—can’t you just leave the ones who don’t want to be involved alone...?"
"I can," Cassian replied with a smirk, "but I won’t..."
"You’re a real bastard," she said, though she still didn’t move away, despite the disgust on her face.
"How do you know?" Cassian asked in a mock-surprised tone, a wide grin still on his lips.
Kirja looked shocked at first, but seeing his smile, her expression quickly turned annoyed. Cassian just laughed.
"Sorry, but I really am a bastard of so noble..." he said casually.
"So you don’t even know your parents?" she asked, then added with a hint of amusent, "Not surprising... it shows. Loose morals, no manners..."
Cassian looked briefly taken aback, then smiled. "Hey... ouch, that’s an..." he said, acting hurt.
That only made her giggle a little, as she said "I didn’t an it... well, maybe a little," still smiling.
"Wow, so cruel. First you insult , now you laugh about it?" Cassian replied.
"You deserve it," she shot back. "You’re way too full of yourself."
"Confidence," he corrected. "There’s a difference."
"Confidence or horniness..." she chuckled again.
"Can’t n have both?" Cassian asked, smiling as he kissed her again, this ti making it last longer. Kirja got into it too, climbing on top of him and hugging him tightly as she rubbed her chest against him, her buttocks pressing against him as well. Cassian grabbed them, spreading them slightly, enjoying their fullness in his hands and the slight moistness of her pubes against his lower stomach.
He moved toward her ear and neck, and she let out a soft moan. In between breaths, she asked, "We’re only cuddling and kissing, right?"
Cassian looked into her eyes as she stared back at him, her lips slightly parted. He nodded, "Yeah... only cuddles and kisses..." as he gently took her lower lip between his.
