"...Refugees?"
Yu Jin chewed on these two words, staring at Yin Yao across from him, falling into deep thought.
That club application form filled with connections to the highest heaven was still quietly lying in his own pocket right now!
"If soone like her counts as Wasteland Refugees..."
"Then what does that make a regular nobody like ?"
"Paracium?"
Even though he had a bit of understanding when it ca to his system’s nonsensical misjudgnts, this particular prompt still gave Yu Jin a strong sense of absurdity.
Yu Jin didn’t get hung up on this question for too long.
His gaze dropped to the last line of text about the reward—
[You have gained the identity: Dawn City Lord (1/100)!]
’Dawn City Lord’—what the hell is that? Yu Jin had no idea.
But the aning of this ’1/100’ was still pretty clear.
"So it ans I’ve only activated one percent of the reward?"
"If I want to actually get this so-called ’Dawn City Lord’ status, I have to shelter 99 more Wasteland Refugees?"
"So... recruit 99 more new club mbers?"
With that thought, Yu Jin’s brows instantly furrowed.
Heavens pity !
Since the Environntal Protection Club was founded, all the generations of mbers put together probably didn’t reach 99 people!
No, not even 19, to be honest.
At least as far as Yu Jin knew—
This year’s Environntal Protection Club only had himself and Old Tang.
Last year’s club, just him and the previous club president.
The year before that, it was the previous president and the one before them.
It’s not that nobody wanted to join the club, but that ’trash-picking’ test invented by the president five presidents ago basically shut everyone out.
...
When he thought of this.
Yu Jin glanced at Yin Yao, who was staring at him intently, and at Tang Yunxuan, who was staring at Yin Yao’s side profile from the side.
He ca to a shocking realization—
The Environntal Protection Club now boasted three mbers, breaking the club’s all-ti record!
"President?"
Yin Yao saw Yu Jin suddenly frown, looking troubled, and couldn’t help but ask.
"Emm..."
Yu Jin pondered for a mont, thought things over, then decided to share his thoughts with Vice President Tang and their only other club mber, Yin Yao.
"Say..."
"Shouldn’t our Environntal Protection Club try recruiting more mbers?"
Yu Jin paused, then added:
"Protecting the environnt is a lifelong mission. Three people can’t possibly bear that weight."
Tang Yunxuan froze for a second and asked reflexively:
"Recruit how many?"
Yu Jin held up one finger.
"One?"
"We could manage that."
Yu Jin shook his head.
"Ten?"
"No way."
Yu Jin kept on shaking his head.
"One hundred?"
"Did all this trash-picking fry your brain?"
Yu Jin let out a sigh.
He knew this was pretty much a mission impossible.
He was only thinking about this because he wanted to milk the system for benefits—maybe give it a shot anyway.
"The good news is, the club recruitnt event lasts for two days. We’ve got all day tomorrow too."
"Just get whoever we can!"
Yu Jin wrapped things up.
anwhile, Yin Yao, who’d been quietly silent until now, her eyes flickered.
"Alright."
"I’ll take the tongs back to the activity room, Old Tang, you take Senior Sister Yin and deliver these three bags of trash to the recycling station."
Yu Jin ended the recruitnt talk and started making arrangents.
After speaking, he directly took the tool tongs from the other two and turned to leave.
The club’s activity room was sealed off, quiet, and undisturbed. It was perfect for claiming system rewards.
After all, that ’Purifying Light’ sounded fishy as hell, almost like so sort of superpower. Who knew what would happen when he claid it?
Before being a Happy Hero, best be a Cautious Superhero.
On the other side—
Yin Yao originally still wanted to say sothing, but before she could, Yu Jin had already walked off.
She’d been busy for over an hour, picking up trash just to join Yu Jin’s Environntal Protection Club, and in the end...
She didn’t even get his contact info.
"S-Senior Sister!"
In a quiet corner where no one was watching—
Tang Yunxuan, thanks to Yu Jin’s arrangent, could not have been more grateful—walking shoulder-to-shoulder with Senior Sister all the way from Buxue Building to the recycling station!
But Old Tang soon realized he’d been happy too soon.
Because the best part was yet to co!
Yin Yao suddenly looked right into his eyes and asked:
"Vice President Tang, can we exchange contacts?"
...
...
Zhiyuan Building, top floor.
607, Environntal Protection Club’s activity room.
Click—
Yu Jin locked the classroom door.
The club might have few people, but it still had its own dedicated activity room.
And Yu Jin was gearing up to claim that long-awaited system reward.
Even though this was the top floor, just to be safe, Yu Jin drew all the curtains.
Whooo—
Yu Jin found a spot, sat down, and took a deep breath to steady himself.
This was definitely a milestone mont.
After all—
So far, aside from that intangible and currently useless ’Wasteland Points’, Yu Jin hadn’t claid a single thing from the system.
In other words—
This glitchy system’s rewards might not even work; he still had to test them out.
"Alright, let’s do this!"
"Beco Superman—today’s the day!"
Yu Jin murmured under his breath, hyping himself up.
Next mont—
He reached out and poked hard at the [Aweso!] button on the blurry, semi-transparent interface in front of him.
In a blink—
The text on the panel began to change.
[You claid the achievent ’Wasteland Purifier’ (Level 1)!]
[You claid the ability ’Purifying Light’ (Level 1)!]
[You claid the achievent ’Wasteland Protector’ (Level 1)!]
[’Wasteland Purifier’—]
[Type: Achievent]
[Effect: While this achievent is equipped, your resistance against Wasteland Pollution Sources is greatly increased, and you’re completely immune to erosion from pollution sources below this achievent’s tier!]
[Current Tier: Level 1!]
[Sufficient XP detected, automatic achievent upgrade!]
[Current Tier: Level 2!]
[’Purifying Light’—]
[Type: Ability]
[Effect: Healing, Purification, Dispel!]
[Current Tier: Level 1!]
[Sufficient XP detected, automatic achievent upgrade!]
[Current Tier: Level 2!]
[’Wasteland Protector’—]
[Type: Achievent]
[Effect: While equipped, your authority within your domain rises, and Refugee Loyalty increases!]
[Current Tier: Level 1!]
[Current Domain: Dawn City (1/100)]
...
There were a lot of words and a good bit of info.
Just as Yu Jin was done processing it—
Shua—
His personal panel popped up automatically.
[Na: Yu Jin]
[Tier: Unawakened]
[Identity: Dawn City Lord (1/100)]
[Items: None]
[Ability: Purifying Light (Level 2)]
[Achievents: Wasteland Purifier (Equipped), Wasteland Protector (Equipped)]
...
[Points: 8200]
[Evaluation: Even though you’ve gained so power and achievents, you’re still too weak to survive in the dangerous Wasteland World. Give it your all, and try your best to grow stronger!]
Yu Jin ignored the system’s "still too weak" evaluation.
Right now, he just wanted to try out his own "superpower"!
The two achievents were passive effects, requiring no manual activation, and as for ’pollution source’ and ’domain’, Yu Jin didn’t actually know what those terms ant.
But his ’Purifying Light’ ability could be activated by him at will!
And it only took a single thought!
"Let’s go!"
Yu Jin’s heartbeat sped up.
"Purifying Light!"
In the silent, empty activity room, Yu Jin quietly called out.
Shua—
The next mont—
A faint milky white glow burst from the tip of his finger!
It might have been weak, but it had an unexplainable aura of mystery!
Yu Jin focused for a second.
Whoosh—
The glow peeled away from his fingertip, swirling through the air like a firefly.
Yu Jin realized he could even target it where he wanted.
"Co!"
Yu Jin focused again.
Next mont—
The milky-white glow zipped over and rged into his body.
Instantly—
Yu Jin was amazed to find—
The soreness and swelling in his waist and arms seed to be healed by so special energy!
In just a few breaths,
all the exhaustion weighing down Yu Jin vanished instantly!
Even—
The beads of sweat that had gathered on his brow disappeared without a trace!
"Is this...?"
"Nanny?"
After his initial surprise, Yu Jin froze, and his smile stiffened.
"Nanny Superhero?"
"This is NOT the Superman I had in mind!"
