Now reading: Chapter 108 - 108 Meeting Between the Two Chief from Way of Overlord, a Action novel by Keikokumars.

108: eting Between the Two Chief 108: eting Between the Two Chief It is an intriguing juxtaposition, the contrast between the impending battle and the tranquil beauty of the Great Steppe.

The world carries on, oblivious to the impending clash between the Brolgadhr tribe and the Duhai tribe.

Nature, with its vast expanse and indescribable allure, remains untouched by the human drama unfolding on its surface.

As the sun radiates its warm rays upon the grassy plains, one could easily be fooled into believing it to be just another peaceful day.

The gentle caress of the wind whispers serenity, filling the air with a sense of tranquillity.

The fragrance of the grass perates the atmosphere, adding to the idyllic ambiance.

Yet, hidden beneath this calm facade lies the imminent storm of battle.

Within a matter of hours, this very place could transform into a theatre of chaos and conflict.

The clash of steel, the cries of warriors, and the spilling of blood would drown out the serenity that now blankets the land.

The sun’s radiant glow, the gentle breeze, and the vibrant green of the grass would fade into insignificance when faced with the grim realities of warfare.

The battle to co holds the power to turn this picturesque scene into a tableau of carnage and destruction.

Aeryon, ever contemplative, ponders the outco that hinges on Durka decision.

The weight of responsibility rests upon the Duhai chief’s shoulders, for his choice could dictate the course of events.

Will he steer his tribe away from the horrors of war, or will he plunge them into the abyss of conflict?

In this delicate mont, the world continues its steady rotation, seemingly oblivious to the impending clash.

The beauty of the Great Steppe remains untarnished, its ethereal allure offering solace to those who appreciate its grandeur.

“The world would always be spinning.

And people will always keep struggling.

The Heavens and the Earth lies in contradiction.

The cold eyes of the Heaven and the suffering of the Earth….like two different worlds” he mutters Aeryon thought of all this as he beco more and more accustod to his role in this world.

And he felt more attuned to the people, and to the era he lives in.

Humans are very adaptable in this manner.

Mounted atop his steed, Aeryon gazes ahead, his countenance hardened and his eyes piercing.

Adorned with a spear and a quiver of arrows slung across his back, he carries the weight of weapons ready for battle.

At his side rests a one-handed sword, poised for unsheathing at a mont’s notice.

In silent contemplation, Aeryon observes the undulating grasses, swaying in rhythm with the breeze.

His eyes narrow, occasionally catching sight of birds soaring through the vast expanse of sky.

Despite the serene scene, a chill wind brushes against his skin, foretelling the impending arrival of rain.

Yet, the sun’s radiant beams still illuminate the landscape, casting a warm glow upon the cloudless blue sky and the peaceful verdant carpet of grass.

Uncertainty lingers in Aeryon mind as he ponders the decision that lies in the hands of the Duhai tribe.

Will they choose to surrender, sparing lives and minimizing casualties?

Such an outco would be favourable, aligning with Aeryon desire to limit bloodshed.

However, if they opt for defiance, ready to face the inevitable clash, Aeryon is prepared to et them on the battlefield.

Aeryon look toward his left and right and then sigh “It’s quite lonely here” he mutters to himself Normally, Aeryon would find solace in Mayeux’s presence, engaging in discussions and boasting about their strategic acun.

But now, left alone with his thoughts, he internalizes his reflections, sharing them with no one but himself.

Aeryon considered the limited options available to the Duhai tribe in their current predicant.

He could anticipate the thoughts that ran through the minds of the Duhai elders as they pondered forging alliances with nearby tribes.

However, what they were unaware of was the ongoing attack on the Kanun and Khulun tribes by the Brolgadhr forces.

This crucial piece of information altered the strategic landscape.

The Kanun tribe, a potential ally for the Duhai tribe, is presently under assault.

By the ti the Duhai tribe could reach them, it was highly likely that the Kanun tribe would have already been subdued by Belarion army.

As for the Chagai tribe, they were already allied with Aeryon forces, making them an unreliable option for the Duhai tribe.

The Haltur tribe, though potentially willing to aid the Duhai tribe, had their own concerns and priorities.

If they do aid the Duhai tribe …Aeryon and the Chagai tribe chief could exploit this situation by orchestrating a feigned attack, diverting the attention of the Haltur tribe and allowing the Chagai chief to strike their settlents in their absence.

The Zlata tribe remained largely unaware of the imminent danger posed by Aeryon and his expanding tribe.

They may underestimate the size and threat of Aeryon forces and perceive the problems faced by the Duhai tribe as inconsequential to their own interests.

In fact, they might even seek to exploit the situation by encroaching on the eastern grazing areas of the Duhai tribe.

In this era, communication and access to information were scarce commodities.

The Zlata tribe, like many others, lacked detailed knowledge of Aeryon true strength and intentions.

Aeryon recognized the stark contrast with his own world, where information flowed freely and events from distant corners of the globe could be known within minutes.

This lack of information created an asymtry that Aeryon could leverage to his advantage.

It allowed him to exploit the gaps in his adversaries’ knowledge and make strategic moves that caught them off guard.

The absence of real-ti information dissemination provided Aeryon with an edge in this complex ga Aeryon rides outside of his war camps Mounted atop his steed, Aeryon surveyed the vast expanse of the Steppe that stretched out before him.

Accompanying him were his fifty loyal personal guards The sun in the sky indicated that afternoon was approaching, and with it ca the mont of decision.

“I have issued my ultimatum,” Aeryon murmured to himself, his gaze fixed on the horizon.

“If the Duhai tribe does not surrender by afternoon, we will be left with no choice but to comnce the attack.” Aeryon understood the gravity of his words.

Once the battle began, rcy would have no place on the battlefield.

In the Great Steppe, kindness at the wrong mont could be perceived as a weakness, a fatal flaw that could cost a chief his honour and his people their lives.

Aeryon was keenly aware that as a leader, misplaced kindness toward an enemy could prove calamitous.

He had witnessed the consequences first-hand—when a chief’s compassion was mistaken for vulnerability, the result was often a swift and ruthless counterattack.

This is what happens to his father.

Too much compassion, to little deterrent power Then as he was riding his horse, he could see around fifty horse riders from the Duhai tribe settlent is approaching his war camp.

“Chief!” All of the fifty personal guards around him either unsheathe their sword, readied their spears and bring out their bows, pointing it toward the direction of that force.

Aeryon however is very calm, sitting on his horse, rubbing the back of the neck of his horse.

With a gentle stroke on the back of his horse’s neck, he emanated an air of calm confidence.

In one glance he could tell that this force did not co to attack .

Fifty n fighting against a thousand people is only a feat that one could do if there is a person with innate strength among them And like Aeryon had investigated, there is no such person in this tribe.

The force is coming closer and closer and right when they are at the safe distance, they stopped What is a safe distance between the Steppe warriors?

It is a distance where arrows from both forces could reach each other but close enough that if both force stakes a few steps forward, they could shoot at each other As long as the other did not take a step forward, they could talk.

It is like a common thod of etiquette before a war.

a space where arrows could be exchanged but close enough for a conversation to be held.

It was a customary form of etiquette observed before the storm of battle.

Aeryon remained composed, his focus honed on the towering figure that had caught his attention from the mont he spotted them.

He could see that there is soone who is taller than everybody else.

This person caught his attention from the mont he noticed them This figure stood at an impressive height of six feet, a giant among the people of the Steppe.

Broad shoulders accentuated his imposing stature, exuding an aura of intimidation that dwarfed those around him.

Cascading down his shoulders, a mane of lustrous blonde hair frad his face, intricately tied in an elflock style.

Piercing blue eyes reflected both determination and resolve, while his war armor glead brightly in the sunlight.

In his hands, he wielded a formidable halberd, its presence seems to signalling his prowess on the battlefield.

Even in repose upon his horse, his body exuded an undeniable strength, his well-defined muscles visible beneath the protective armor.

“You must be Chief Durka” Aeryon said with a smile on his face.
