The Angel herself appeared much more refined than she did two days ago, wearing a handmade white dress that perfectly suited her image, though it was hard to pinpoint exactly why. Her hair had been freshly trimd, eliminating uneven bangs, and her face bore a light touch of makeup.
However, her inner self remained unchanged. Her eyes revealed a hint of delight upon seeing the two individuals, yet she appeared sowhat reserved due to their brief separation. It wasn’t until Chen Xuan spoke first that Elorie’s expression beca lively and vibrant.
"I didn’t have that intention at all..." She quickly explained, "They just insisted on branding as the sole Angel spokesperson. Over there, I’m just an ordinary mber of the Angel Alliance."
"Don’t mind it, I was just joking. These things weren’t displayed by you anyway." Chen Xuan popped a grape into his mouth. "You suddenly wanted to et and Liu Shuyue, so you must have sothing important to say, right?"
"Exactly!" Elorie suddenly raised her voice a few notches, "I discovered a mysterious store just the night before last! You’d never believe what kind of shop it is!"
A mysterious store?
Chen Xuan’s heart thudded, "What kind of store?"
The girl moved closer to the sofa, her expression mysterious, "It’s a shop that claims to sell abilities!"
"Cough—" Chen Xuan instantly choked on the grape.
He patted his chest a few tis to catch his breath, "Huh?"
Liu Shuyue was equally baffled, "Where did you see it?"
"Right here in this palace! I checked during the day, and it was just a storage room with the door locked. But the night before last, I couldn’t sleep and was wandering around this floor when I saw a light coming from the storage room. When I went over, it had turned into a sizable shop!"
Elorie had never shared these occurrences with anyone else. Having kept it to herself for two days, she was finally able to share it joyfully now.
After all, once she ca out, the shop disappeared without a trace. Even when she returned the sa ti the following night, she couldn’t find that beam of light again.
She doubted whether it was reality or just a dream of hers.
Chen Xuan glanced at Liu Shuyue and found her looking back at him.
The Ability Store only relocates under one condition.
That is when a special custor arrives at the door.
"Then what happened?"
"Then I went inside, and a beautiful female shopkeeper greeted . She told many incredible things, making think abilities could really be bought."
"Did you get any?"
"No..." Elorie shook her head, "She said that ability transactions have prerequisites. If I wanted to trade, I had to stay with you two."
She hastily added, "I absolutely didn’t think of using you as a trade condition. According to the shopkeeper, the reasons are quite complex, and only by doing so could the transaction process begin."
The female shopkeeper... it must be Lin Qing. Chen Xuan thought.
Even when the shopkeeper isn’t in the store, the shop will attract custors. He didn’t expect Lin Qing not only recognized Elorie’s identity at first glance but also concocted a whole theory of pre-conditions for trading to keep her intrigued, eventually sending the custor to him.
Well done, Lin Qing’s maneuverings deserve a raise!
He raised his hand, gesturing to Elorie that no explanation was needed, "It’s okay, I believe you."
"Really?" Angel You doubted, "Do you also believe in the Ability Store?"
"I do." Chen Xuan answered firmly.
Elorie was deeply moved by the trust between friends—even her fellow Angel Alliance mbers likely wouldn’t believe her strange tale so easily, "That’s wonderful... I thought you’d laugh at for dreaming."
"No way." Liu Shuyue cleared her throat, "We’re Wanderers, used to encountering unbelievable scenes. Each world holds its own secrets, so a store offering abilities doesn’t sound so shocking."
Really? That’s not what you said the first ti you entered the store.
Suppressing his urge to laugh, Chen Xuan spoke seriously to Elorie, "Now that everyone is here, let’s contact the store quickly."
"Alright, I’ll try to summon it!" The girl sat cross-legged, hands clasped before her chest, muttering words under her breath.
"I didn’t expect we’d return to Jiang City this way." Liu Shuyue whispered close to his ear, "Miss Lin sure helped us a lot."
"I’m more concerned about another issue—why Elorie would beco a custor. If she wants to alter history, to prevent this world from destruction, that would be a tricky problem."
Chen Xuan couldn’t imdiately think of any ability he had that could threaten the enemies on the Moon.
It must be said, from Liu Shuyue to Elorie, custor’s requests have gotten higher and higher.
While Elorie put her effort into summoning the store, both of them began roaming the room, checking every place with a door, even the sliding door of the bathroom was not omitted.
However, after ten minutes, the store still hadn’t appeared.
Sweat dotted the Angel’s forehead, "This is strange... I called for Miss Lin in my mind and envisioned the store, so why hasn’t it appeared?"
Miss Lin specifically ntioned she didn’t need to search for the original shop location at the corridor end, the shop would manifest anywhere when the ti was right.
"Don’t worry, try a few more tis," Chen Xuan comforted, "There’s plenty of ti."
Though he was the true store manager of the Ability Store, he didn’t know how the door-opening chanism precisely worked. In the past, whenever he needed to see custors, he either opened a room on the second floor ahead of ti or sent out a visit invitation, both thods yielded quick results.
Elorie nodded, anxiously closing her eyes again.
At this mont, an earth-shattering explosion echoed in everyone’s ears!
"Boom————"
Under the impact of the sound wave, all large glass vessels in the room shattered, and the floors violently trembled, as if the earth was cracking open!
Decorations hung on the walls ca crashing down, and the fruits and pastries on the table scattered across the floor.
If ordinary people encountered this situation, even if they weren’t scared to death, their eardrums would be montarily deafened, and they might not even manage to stand for three to five minutes.
Fortunately, Chen Xuan, Liu Shuyue, and Elorie were not ordinary people, so after the explosion, they only took a few seconds to regain their balance.
"What just happened?" the Angel moaned, holding her head.
"Stay here, I’ll go take a look." Chen Xuan rushed out the door into the hallway. Through the shattered window, he saw thick smoke rising from the direction of the palace square, with the atrium left in shambles and debris scattered everywhere. A severely deford heavy truck was wedged halfway into the collapsed welcoming hall, with visible flas flickering inside the building.
A vehicle out of control crashed into the Louvre Palace’s gate?
Most vehicles in New Paris City are supposed to be self-driving now, right?
Chen Xuan expanded his Heart thod scan and imdiately realized sothing was amiss, nurous light dots were chaotically moving inside the Louvre Palace, so heading outward, others moving inward toward the palace’s heart. More unsettling was that so of the light dots were rapidly disappearing, especially when they ’collided’ with the inward-moving ones.
Within seconds, two or three light dots darted into the atrium.
Chen Xuan then got a clear view of the intruders: they were clad in matching black skintight suits and body armor, wearing compound-eye-style holographic helts. Not only were they ard with long guns, but they also carried multiple weapons on their backs and waists, downright ard to the teeth.
As he observed the intruders, they noticed him too, and almost instantly, two shots were fired at the window. The gunfire was soft, sounding like a whip slicing through the air. Under the Divine Eye Technique’s enhancent, Chen Xuan saw the bullets tracing arcs through the air, continually adjusting their path toward him!
He dropped into a crouch, simultaneously raising a Thousand Thoughts Sword over his head. The two bullets drilled inward, scrapping along the side of his Qi Sword and embedding into the wall.
The enemy clearly hadn’t precisely aid, yet the bullets remarkably hit where he had been standing. Had it not been for the Divine Eye Technique allowing him to foresee their trajectory, and the Celestial Mist Skill aiding his agile reactions, those casual shots could have cost him his life!
Anger flared within Chen Xuan’s heart.
