The reddish-pink haze hung thick in the air, the neon lights buzzing overhead, casting flickering shadows across the concrete floor. The steel cage stood between us, its bars dented and gleaming, a silent witness to the tension crackling in the room. Lyra leaned against the far wall, her naked body relaxed but her green eyes sharp with anticipation, a proud grin on her face as she watched .

I stood just inches from the cage, my black coat with its purple seams catching the neon glow, my aura settled into a steady, dark pulse around . Alaric mirrored on the other side.

I smirked, my eyes locked on his, a knowing glint in them that I knew pissed him off.

"What happened, alien?" I said, my voice low and taunting, my smirk widening. "You don't look so confident anymore."

Alaric's jaw tightened, his red eyes narrowing beneath the shadow of his brow. He didn't smile, didn't flinch, just stood there with his arms folded, his presence heavy but no longer overwhelming. "You're nothing but an entity that pisses off with just your existence," he said, his voice serious, each word deliberate, like he was carving them into the air.

I shrugged, my coat shifting as I leaned casually against the cage, one hand resting on a bar. "Oh, is that so?" I asked, my tone light but laced with mockery. "Then you shouldn't have sent the invitation to this island in the first place."

Lyra snorted from the corner, her grin widening. "Yeah, Alaric, bad move," she called, her voice playful but cutting. "You basically handed Zero a playground."

Afa's glare flicked to Lyra, her fists clenching, but she stayed silent, her eyes darting back to Alaric, waiting for his lead.

Alaric's red eyes didn't leave mine, his voice steady but cold. "The invitation was necessary," he said. "I must kill you right here and take control of this planet."

I laughed, the sound sharp and unbothered, echoing off the walls. "You could've just barged into my house, fought there," I said, pushing off the cage and stepping closer, my boots clicking on the concrete. "But no, you invite to this beautiful island—sunny beaches, perfect waves, and let's not forget the delicious won I got to fuck." My smirk turned wicked as I glanced at Afa, letting the jab sink in. "Feels like you just dug your own grave, alien."

Alaric exhaled slowly, his red aura pulsing faintly, the neon lights flickering in response. "You'll see who dug whose grave," he said, his voice low and dangerous, each word asured. He unfolded his arms, his hands flexing at his sides as he leaned slightly toward the cage. "This is my forte. Every energy that flows through the people here—every spark, every pulse—it flows through ** now."

I tilted my head, my smirk never faltering. "Big talk for a guy who just got outdone by a human and his girl," I said, my black aura flaring briefly, tendrils of dark energy curling around the cage bars, making them hum faintly. "You think you're sucking up all the energy on this island? Newsflash, alien—Lyra just gave everything I needed to co back stronger than ever."

Lyra pushed off the wall, her grin wide and proud. "That's right!" she cheered, her voice bright. "Zero's back, baby, and he's gonna wipe the floor with you!"

I leaned closer to the bars, my voice dropping to a taunting whisper. "So, what's it gonna be, Alaric? You gonna stand there talking about your 'forte,' or you gonna make a move? 'Cause I'm right here, and I'm not the one who's scared."

Alaric's eyes glinted in the shadows, his silence heavy, his red aura flaring brighter for a mont before settling again.

"Collecting energy that flows through people, huh?" I said, my voice dripping with mockery as I tapped a finger against my chin, pretending to think. A mory flashed in my mind—glass tubes, a dark chamber, and a monster draining pleasure from captive bodies. My smirk widened as I pieced it together. "I've dealt with soone like you before," I said, my tone casual but cutting. "Wait, what was his na again?" I pressed a finger harder against my chin, dragging out the mont, then snapped my fist into my palm with a grin. "Oh, yes, yes! Lord Afro. He was collecting energy from everyone around him too, but he needed those fancy glass chambers to do it."

Alaric's red eyes narrowed, his jaw tightening as he unfolded his arms, his hands flexing at his sides. "Yeah, I know him," he said, his voice low and steady, but there was a flicker of irritation in it. "Afro ca to this island way before , bragging he'd finish the job. But nothing happened. Then I got the news you killed him."

I laughed, the sound sharp and unbothered, my teeth flashing in the neon light as I leaned closer to the cage. "Yeah, sorry about that," I said, my smirk wicked. "He was just… too weak. All that talk, those stupid tubes, and he still went down like a chump."

Alaric's red aura pulsed, tendrils curling around his legs as he stared at his open palms, his voice low and dangerous. "He was weak," he said, his tone carrying a bitter edge. He clenched his hands into fists, the red glow flaring brighter for a mont, casting a crimson light across the cage. "But I'll finish the job."

I tilted my head, my smirk never faltering. "Ohhh, that's the spirit, alien!" I said, my voice dripping with mockery as I pushed off the cage, standing tall, my black aura flaring in response, its purple accents glinting in the neon haze. "Big talk for a guy who just got shown up by and Lyra. You sure you're ready to try where Afro failed?"

Alaric's red eyes glinted in the shadows, his aura flaring brighter, the neon lights flickering wildly as his energy pushed against mine. "You talk too much, Zero," he said, his voice cold and deliberate. "This island's energy flows through . Every spark, every pulse—it's mine to command. You're just a human in the end."

I leaned closer to the cage, my smirk sharp as a blade. "You know, Alaric, Afro made the sa mistake," I said, my voice low and taunting. "Thought he could drain everyone, control everything. But he forgot one thing—power's not just about taking. It's about earning it.

Alaric's jaw twitched, his red aura flaring hotter, the neon lights buzzing louder as his energy surged. "You'll see who's on the ropes, Zero," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "This island is my domain. You're not leaving it alive."

I laughed, my black aura pulsing in response, the purple seams of my coat glowing brighter. "Big words for a guy who needed an invitation to get here," I said, my smirk unwavering. "Let's see if you've got anything to back it up, or if you're just another Afro waiting to get put down."

The room held its breath, the neon lights flickering chaotically, casting wild shadows as our auras clashed—my black storm against his red fire. The cage bars groaned under the pressure, the air electric with the promise of a fight. Alaric's shadowed eyes burned into mine, his red aura steady. The island was our battleground, and I was ready to show this alien who truly ruled.
