Hundreds of monsters poured out of the dark waves like a flood of teeth and claws. Goblins first—short, green-skinned, with hooked noses and yellow eyes—splashed ashore carrying rusty swords, spiked clubs, and chains. Behind them ca taller beasts: hulking figures with horns curling from their heads, skin like cracked leather, eyes burning red. Flying creatures circled above—bat-winged things with long tails and talons, screeching as they dove low over the sand. Weapons glinted in the moonlight: curved blades, jagged spears, hamrs with spiked heads. The air filled with growls, hisses, and the wet slap of feet on wet sand.

One goblin at the front, with a crooked scar across his face, licked his lips and grinned wide.

"Hahaha, there seems to be lots of delicious food here!"

Another goblin beside him, shorter and fatter, chuckled as he hefted a spiked club.

"Once Alaric had taken control of the island and its people, he was going to call us to eat off the rest of the human bodies. But I guess he died way too early."

I stood on the wet sand, black coat still torn and dusted from the fight, sword gone but aura humming low around . My body ached—every muscle burned, my chest tight from the drain of the last clash. I was tired. Bone-deep tired. I needed rest. I needed... sothing more than rest. I looked up at him, eyes steady. "Yeah, I am. So what?"

The beast laughed, wings beating slow. "Let’s see how good you really are."

The goblins and beasts started forward, weapons raised, grins widening, hungry.

I cracked my neck once, aura flickering purple-black around my fists.

The crowd behind backed up farther, whispers turning to panicked murmurs.

"Too many..." "We’re dead..." "Zero can’t fight all of them..."

I glanced over my shoulder at them—faces pale, hands clutching each other, so already turning to run toward the villas.

Then I looked back at the army of monsters marching out of the sea.

My mind raced.

*Lyra and Afa are gone.*

*One mistake and these people die.*

But I wasn’t running. I wasn’t hiding. The monsters slowed, sensing the shift. I cracked my knuckles.

The goblin with the scar laughed again. "Kill him first! Fresh at!"

The crowd had backed up so far they were pressed against the dunes and villas. So people were crying quietly. Others stood frozen, hands over mouths, staring at the army that had just walked out of the sea.

A flying monster with long wings and a barbed tail hovered above the front line. It opened its mouth and released a single blade—thin, silver, glowing red at the edges. The weapon shot toward like lightning.

*Fwoosh!* *BANG*

I summoned my black sword in a flash of purple-black light. The blade appeared in my hand just in ti.

*THUD!*

I deflected the flying sword with a hard swing. The impact rang out like a bell. My arms shook from the force. I landed heavy, boots digging into wet sand, breathing hard through my nose.

The flying monster tilted its head, red eyes narrowing.

"Ohhh... he is indeed strong," it hissed.

A goblin at the front cackled, licking its lips.

"Well yeah, obviously. He killed Alaric just like that."

A snake-like monster slithered up beside the goblin, tongue flicking.

"But no point. He looks drained out completely. He’s hardly holding himself up."

It was true. My legs felt like lead. My chest burned with every breath. Sweat ran into my eyes. The fight with Alaric had taken everything—every drop of aura, every bit of strength. I needed rest. I needed... more than rest. Lyra and Afa were gone, taken to safety, and the thought flashed through my head again: *I need to fuck soone right away. I need it now. I can take any woman from here but I can’t in front of these monsters swarming up on . Without it, this army was going to roll right over and everyone else.

I looked at the goblin, then at the flying monster, then at the hundreds of eyes glowing red behind them.

"I’m not the one who’s gonna protect them," I said, voice low and steady, "and I’m definitely not the one who’s gonna destroy all of you."

The goblin blinked, confused. "What? What do you an? You’re already dead tired. Who else can stand against us?"

I raised my right hand high above my head. A small, wicked smile spread across my face.

"Hahahaha..."

"He’s doing sothing. Brace yourselves, everyone!"

The crowd behind sucked in a breath.

The goblin’s grin faltered. "What... what the hell is he doing?"
