"So, what are we going to do about this wolf?"

"Kukuku."

Imdiately after Aphrodite spoke, the witch of sloth broke out in laughter.

"Who would’ve thought a pitiful werewolf would cause so much headache? I’m honestly a little embarrassed for you all," she mocked.

"This is a sha on you too," the witch of calamity snapped, her voice cutting through the witch of sloth’s laughter.

The witch of sloth’s eyes narrowed at her.

"Weren’t you the one who allowed the mana crystals to be stolen in the first place?"

The witch of calamity glared at her.

"Calm down, ladies. As leaders of this city, we are all to bla for what happened," Aphrodite said.

"Now the people of this city are rebelling, inciting a civil war," the witch of greed chid in.

"The common folks we can handle," this ti it was the head of the Veylmont clan that spoke. His voice sounded like a low growl. "That kitsune is the one spurring them on. All we need to do is squash them and the rest will fall in line."

"Indeed," the witch of greed agreed, nodding her head. "We need to show the others what will happen when they try to fight back."

"I suggest we let the other noble vampires handle this. This seems a job fitting for them," Cassian Veylmont said, disregarding the matter as just a minor disturbance.

To him, their main focus should be the wolf hiding in the city. The one that killed his son.

"What about that kitsune?" the witch of calamity asked. "She’s a yokai after all."

"The noble vampires will handle it," Cassian reaffird again. "It’s just a three-tailed kitsune. It’s not nearly powerful enough for us to worry about it. We should focus mainly on the wolf."

With that said, his eyes turned to Damien.

Damien Dracule sat and watched the discussion quietly. His expression was unreadable, and his eyes were not looking at anyone in particular.

Seeing Cassian looking at him, everyone also began staring at Damien.

"I’m only going to ask you this once. Do you have anything to do with that werewolf?"

For a mont, everyone’s expression froze. None of them expected such a question.

"What are you..."

Aphrodite tried to speak, but Cassian silenced her with just a wave of the hand.

Damien, on the other hand, was the only one who didn’t react to such a question.

After an awkward couple of seconds, his mouth finally opened to speak.

"What werewolf?"

"..."

Silence enveloped the entire room. Everyone was too stumped to speak. Though they should’ve expected it. They’ve known Damien for years, and he’s always been like this.

But this ti, since his son’s death was a part of the situation, Cassian couldn’t take it. His blood was boiling. Ever since he saw Damien, he’s been stopping himself from letting his rage explode.

And Damien’s cold and strange attitude only seed to infuriate him more.

"He’s not involved with the werewolf," Aphrodite quickly said. "That werewolf only ca here because of that matter with your family, rember?"

Cassian’s eyes turned sharply to her.

"Who’s to say he wasn’t the one who caused Victor’s death too? I saw him turn into a wolf during the great war. He also turned into a bat and even fog itself. That isn’t normal for vampires. You won’t sit here and tell that his pale yellow eyes aren’t the sa color as werewolves!"

Everyone understood Cassian’s point, but they also understood that the reason he was saying all this was because his son was murdered.

Though if the two killed each other it would be good, none of them wanted to see an all-out conflict between the two. The casualties would be nurous.

"I’m fairly certain that Damien doesn’t have anything to do with what happened to your son. In fact, I also happen to know where that werewolf is hiding out."

The mont Aphrodite spoke, Damien snapped his head in her direction.

"He’s hiding out in Grey Waste with the rest of the lamias and ghouls," Aphrodite spoke with a smile on her face.

She hoped the wolf could find a way to kill Cassian, lessening the vampires’ rule over the city. But that was just re hope.

If the werewolf couldn’t kill Cassian, then she would continue her life in this city like nothing happened. Plus Allucard was out of the picture so she could count everything that happened as a win.

Cassian stared deeply into Aphrodite’s eyes as if to discern whether she was lying or not.

Aphrodite didn’t look away and t his gaze confidently.

"Don’t tell you suspect too."

Cassian thought for a mont, then leaned back into his chair.

"When you find him, feel free to handle him however you please," she said.

"Wait, we have to retrieve the mana crystals before you kill him," the witch of calamity hastily said.

"Oh, I almost forgot. You should go with him, Persephone," Aphrodite suggested.

"I don’t want anyone getting in my way," Cassian grumbled.

"I just want the mana crystals. You can do whatever you want with him," Persephone said.

"OK, I’m glad that is all settled!" Aphrodite said with a clap of her hands. She was using her beauty and her cheerful deanor to lighten the mood.

"That kitsune is planning a large-scale attack about two days from now. Get the noble vampires ready to face her and make sure they kill everyone who even tried to stand against us," the witch of greed said.

Everyone seed satisfied by this plan. Their goal was to get their people in line and kill the werewolf that had been causing trouble.

"As for you, Cassian, when do you plan on attacking that werewolf?" Aphrodite asked. "I suggest you do it at the sa ti the noble vampires are dealing with the kitsune. It’s best to get them all in one fell swoop, or else they may offer each other a helping hand."

"Fine, whatever," Cassian grumbled as he climbed from his seat.

Without sparing them another glance, he stord out.

SLAM!

"Hmm? I’ve never seen him so emotional before. He’s usually calm and collected," Persephone comnted, adjusting her glasses.

"He’s a vampire. They’re emotional beings. The loss of his son is getting to him."

Just then, the witch of sloth got up from her chair, yawning. She had dozed off sowhere in between the discussions.

"I assu it’s all been settled. I’ll take my leave. Co, Yun-Yun."

With that, she and her brother left, and the witch of calamity followed soon after.

Soon it was only Aphrodite and her sister remaining. The two stared at each other, then cracked a smile.
