anwhile, in the Dracule mansion, Damian Dracule was making preparations of his own. He descended a flight of stairs that led all the way down to the cellar. This cellar was a very important place for him, and he ordered that no one should even go near his special place.

The reason this cellar was so special to him was because it was where he kept all the items he had auctioned off throughout the years. When it ca to his collections, he was like a little boy protecting his toys.

He continued to walk down the stairs until he ca upon a large reinforced tal door. In the center of this door was a bat with two large fangs in its mouth.

Standing in front of the statue, Damian bit into his hand until a soft crunch could be heard. Damian could hardly feel pain, so sotis he overdid it and ended up biting through his bones. Still, his pale yellow eyes had no reaction as he dripped the blood from his hand into the mouth section of the statue.

The eyes on the bat statue glowed red, before the sound of chanics could be heard. A split second later, the tal door slowly began to open, and the mont it did, the lights to the room also turned on.

The room that sprawled before him was reminiscent of a museum. Supernatural items of different types and eras were on full display, so hanging on the walls while others were behind glass displays.

All these items were very important to him. There were even mythical creatures that he had also bought at auctions. As he walked through the room, a monkey with wings on its back began screaming at him through its cage. This alerted the other creatures who were also kept captive, and at the sa ti, a pair of sandals which had bird-like wings flew over his head.

Damian didn’t pay these different magical items and creatures any mind as he made his way to the back of the room. At the back of the room, there was one special item that was being covered by a piece of cloth. He removed the cloth to reveal a small aquarium built into the wall.

Inside the aquarium was a creature with the lower body of a fish and the upper body of a human, a human woman. This creature was a rmaid, and it was one that Damian had acquired a while ago.

The mont their eyes t, the rmaid tried to hide, but it was too late. Damian imdiately activated his mind control, freezing the creature in place. A yellow ring appeared around the rmaid’s irises before it disappeared.

"I need you to go see the sea witch. Tell her that one of her daughters is here in Purgatory and ask her if she would like to capture her. Those are your orders; return to after it’s done."

This was Damian’s plan. He wanted to figure out what was going on before he made any moves. Getting involved with the sea witch’s daughter without knowing what was going on was too risky.

He planned to use this rmaid as a ssenger.

...

"So, I’ll need you to tell a bit more about your mother," I said. As Selthia and I settled into my room. She sat snugly on my bed with sitting next to her, but the mont I asked about her mother, her expression changed.

Seeing the way Damian reacted, I was eager to figure out more about this sea witch.

"Umm, okay, I’ll tell you all you need to know. My mother has been around for centuries, so it makes sense that they would know her. There are a few tis in history where my mother has been angry enough to co to the human world. Whenever she did, it would always lead to mass destruction. If you’re lucky, maybe a city or two would be sunk. If you’re not so lucky, then an entire continent would be lost."

"Would coming after one of her runaway daughters be counted as a good reason for her to co to the surface?" I asked to which Selthia shook her head adamantly.

"No, it wouldn’t. At most, she would send one of my sisters after . You don’t have to worry, darling. If anything happens, I’ll handle it."

I smiled and patted her on the head to assure her.

"If it cos down to it, I’ll help you face her, but I’ll need to know a bit more about her power."

"Well, my mother is the only person apart from that owns a trident. It’s her main weapon," she said.

"Your trident is a result of your sea goddess bloodline. Could your mother possess the sa bloodline as you?"

"I’m not sure. I don’t talk to my mother much unless she’s hungry or needs sothing... But the last ti my sister ca, she said she wanted to return ho within a year. It’s for the ceremony our mother has been grooming us for?"

A ceremony? Selthia shifted uncomfortably in her seat. It looked as if she didn’t like talking about her mother.

"Yes, it’s to decide who will take over as the leader of Atlantis."

"What are the chances that the leader will be the daughter that just so happened to awaken the sa bloodline as her?" I asked.

The way I see it is that Selthia is more likely to be selected than her sisters.

"No, I won’t. My sisters are as good as . Maybe I had a chance before, but not anymore now that I ran away. But don’t worry, if it cos down to that, I’ll just tell my mother that I have no intention of being the leader of Atlantis and that she should give one of my sisters the role instead."

"Yes, you’re right," I said, assuring her with a pat on the head. "I have a feeling it’s dangerous to stay in Purgatory any longer."

"Huh, are you planning to leave?" she asked, looking puzzled.

"Soon enough. I have a few things I need to take care of before then."
