Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse Chapter 87: Argument
After our hunt, Selthia, Isabella, and I went back ho. We had found a few malgechos wandering around in the forest so our hunt was successful. As we approached the lodge where we all stayed, I heard shouting coming from the inside.
I imdiately recognized who the voices belonged to.
"Don’t be an idiot! Dad wouldn’t want you to be so reckless!"
"No, he wouldn’t want us to sit around and die."
The shouting was coming from Kaelen and Lyanna. The two of them saw us enter the lodge, but they didn’t even stop their argunt to pay us any mind. The only person who bothered to glance in our direction was Allison. She and Kaela seed to be trying to calm the two while their mother sat with her legs crossed, enjoying another bottle of wine.
"Liam!" she shouted. At first, she looked like she was in distress, but the mont she saw , her face lit up into a beautiful smile. She ran towards , and before she even got to , tears were streaming down her face. She looked like a little girl running to her papa after a long day apart.
"I knew you were alright, I just knew it," she said while hugging tightly with her face pressed up against my chest.
"You’re going to get snot all over my clothes."
"I missed you so much; it was torture here without you."
She continued crying without listening to a word I was saying.
"I heard you ca looking for ."
"Hmm?" Hearing that, she imdiately lifted up her face, which was covered in tears. Seeing the wide grin on my face, her cheeks grew puffy as she began to pout. "Did Derrick tell you that?"
"He also told you were getting married."
Hearing that, she began blushing uncontrollably.
"Of course not! Soone like could never get married. Besides, I hardly know anyone..."
I bet the real reason was because she was scared of her suitors. She was the sa way when we were little too. If a boy tried to confess to her, she would co running to to hide. Even when she was in high school and I was in middle school, she had turn down the boys who were brave enough to confess to her.
"Oh! Isabella, you’re back!" Just then, she finally noticed Isabella and Selthia standing behind .
Before Isabella could respond, Allison jumped at her, almost causing the two of them to fall over.
"Little sis Isa!" She squealed as she hugged Isabella tightly. Isabella tried to play it off, but I could see that she was happy to be greeted by such a warm welco.
Next, her eyes turned to Selthia, who was watching the two interact with a slight frown on her face.
"Who is she?" Allison asked, looking at Selthia with sparkling eyes. No doubt she was captivated by the beauty who stood in front of her.
"She’s your new sister," I said.
"It’s a pleasure to et you—" Selthia tried to appear polite, but before the words could even escape her mouth, Allison jumped at her, and this ti, the two did collapse to the ground.
"Get off !"
"Oh my god, you’re so pretty. How did you get your hair so silky smooth?" Allison questioned, but her bosom was pressed against Selthia’s face, reducing everything she was trying to say to re muffles.
"And your skin is so soft, what’s your routine?!"
"By the way, why are Kaelen and Lyanna arguing?" I asked, interrupting the two.
"Oh!" Allison released Selthia imdiately and jumped to her feet. Selthia was left sprawled on the ground, breathing heavily. It looked like she really was suffocating.
"Kaelen thinks we should attack the Nyx pack before the full moon," Allison explained. "While Lyanna doesn’t think that’s a good idea."
"I see."
Such an aggressive approach was just like Kaelen. I didn’t expect any better from him.
"Kaela and I have been trying to calm them both down, but neither of them are listening. We tried to get Aunt Eira to help, but she doesn’t seem to care. Maybe you can try, Liam."
"That’s enough! With Dad gone, I’m the one who’s going to be the alpha of the pack. You have no say in the matter!" Kaelen roared.
"It doesn’t matter if you’re going to be the alpha. Grandpa would never let you do sothing so reckless. You’ll only get yourself killed," Lyanna said.
"Sitting around doing nothing is what will get us killed. Dad would want us to fight back. Liam told how bravely he fought. How many werewolves he killed before that snake Danzo stabbed him in the back. He would want us to carry on fighting in his place. As his son, I have to avenge his death, and that ans facing the one who killed him head on."
"All you’ll be doing is getting yourself killed. Dad wouldn’t want that. He would want us to follow Grandpa’s orders."
"You don’t know anything about what Dad would want!" Kaelen roared, his eyes glowing red. "I was the one he entrusted with the pack. He told so right before he died."
From the way things were going, it looked as if Kaelen was going to lose control of himself again. If that happens, he could end up hurting his sisters. That was why I decided to put a stop to it.
"I think that’s enough," I said. "This conversation here won’t change anything."
Lyanna glared at .
"Stay out of this; it has nothing to do with you," she snapped.
"Kaelen is going to be the alpha now. I only take orders from him," I replied. "That’s what Roran would want us to do, to follow his lead."
"Don’t speak as if you know him!"
"I was with him when he died, rember?"
Lyanna clenched her fist tightly. It looked as if my words had struck a nerve.
"You... You don’t... You don’t know anything!" she shouted and then stord off upstairs.
Kaelen didn’t waste a second after that and left too, looking as if he was about to punch sobody.
"Thank you for your help, Liam," Kaela said in a soft, sweet voice that almost sounded lodic. She bowed her head gracefully before rushing off upstairs after Lyanna.
The room fell quiet now that the two weren’t here shouting at each other.
"So that’s how you get them to shut up," Eira mumbled while swirling the bottle of wine in her hand. Her face was flushed red. She then drunkenly staggered to her feet and made her way toward the stairs too.
"You should’ve helped us, Aunt Eira," Allison said, trying to sound polite as always.
"I never wanted kids," she grumbled as she stomped up the stairs.
Soon, it was just Allison, Isabella, Selthia, and I.
"Where’s Liora?" I asked, noticing her lack of presence.
"Umm... She’s been training with Grandpa Veyron a lot recently. I doubt she will co ho tonight," Allison answered.
Interesting... I was glad to know she was improving herself.
"As for Mom and Dad, they are out for the night with Lily."
With nothing else to do, the four of us descended to go to bed in preparation for what was to co tomorrow.
