Chapter 68: Panic! Silver Radiance Descends!

At this mont, facing the small figure that had suddenly appeared before it, the Thunder Lizard flicked its forked tongue, emitting a series of fine hissing sounds.

Imdiately after, a low, guttural roar burst from its throat.

The foul, fishy gust of air directly blew most of the alcohol haze out of Fidis’s mind.

However, Rog appeared not far behind Fidis.

“Are you trying to get yourself killed? That’s a Level 3 Beastkin!” Rog lowered his voice. He had clearly seen this Thunder Lizard sowhere before and knew how dangerous this Beastkin was.

But what Rog did not expect was that Fidis ignored him completely and charged straight forward.

Fidis accelerated in a few strides, the long blade in his hand dragging across the ground and throwing off sparks. “Level 3? This knight specializes in fighting Level 3.”

Then ca a loud *bang*.

In the blink of an eye, Fidis was struck directly by the Thunder Lizard’s thick tail.

His entire body was sent flying more than ten ters away.

Fidis slamd heavily onto the ground, and this ti, his drunkenness was completely gone.

But after sending Fidis flying, the Thunder Lizard did not press the attack.

Instead, as if no one else existed, it leisurely walked toward the Back Courtyard.

The Knight’s Squires who had still been observing were now all silent as cicadas in winter. Seeing Fidis—who had just advanced to a Quasi-Knight—sent flying by a single tail strike, they finally understood the terrifying strength of this giant beast.

Instinctive fear made them begin to flee.

anwhile, so of the Knight’s Squires who had been hiding in their rooms had already jumped out through the back windows.

Faced with a monster even Fidis could not defeat, they made the safest possible choice—escape.

Even Rog began to retreat.

Inside the room, Leo was still observing.

The sudden appearance of this Thunder Lizard made him feel that sothing was very off.

He had one of the dungeon keys, and the other was with Lady Manta.

Could sothing have gone wrong on her side?

Leo looked toward the giant beast dozens of ters away and activated Hunting Mont.

As his vision zood in, Leo saw the Thunder Lizard swaying its tail, repeatedly striking the ground.

Although it looked ferocious, Leo felt that sothing about this big fellow was abnormal today.

Having spent so long in the dungeon, he naturally understood the Thunder Lizard’s temperant.

It could be said to be the worst-tempered Beastkin he had ever seen.

But today, it did not seem to display that sa level of aggression.

Within his field of vision, Fidis forced himself to his feet, gritted his teeth, and charged out again—only to be struck flying once more by a tail, this ti completely knocked unconscious.

Leo sensed sothing strange. He had personally experienced the power of this Level 3 Beastkin.

If this giant lizard were attacking with full force, Fidis likely would not have withstood even the first blow.

Sothing was wrong.

Leo’s thoughts raced as his gaze swept rapidly across the surroundings.

Suddenly, his eyes stopped on the do of the Knight Hall.

In the night, hundreds of ters away, seven figures stood atop the massive do.

With Hunting Mont active, Leo seed to understand everything.

He crawled under the bed and took down the recurve bow hanging on the underside of the bed fra—sothing he had bought from the Kingdom rchant Caravan last ti for ten silver coins.

Then Leo opened the hidden compartnt beneath the bed and took out a cloth bundle.

A gold ring, gold coins, and several small bottles and jars.

He took out a nearly empty potion bottle—leftover sedative from the last ti he had shoveled dung for the Thunder Lizard.

……

On the spherical do, seven people were holding teacups, watching the performance of the Knight’s Squires in the distance.

Anthony spoke slowly, “The little ones have indeed panicked.”

“You can’t really bla them. That’s a Level 3 Beastkin. Are you sure there won’t be any danger?” Clarsen’s face was solemn.

The Thunder Lizard had been captured by them during a hunt several months ago.

He naturally knew the strength of this Level 3 Beastkin. Even if he went alone now, he might not be able to handle it.

“That depends on Lady Manta.”

“Don’t worry. That potion was personally prepared by .” Lady Manta spoke at this mont. “I’m just curious—why are you going to such lengths to scare a bunch of little ones?”

“The greatness of a knight cos from strength and courage. Their performance last ti left very dissatisfied.” Laforin’s expression was serious. “So this is their third test. Watch carefully—anyone who runs tonight, record them all and cancel their test results.”

“Back to this knight nonsense again.” Lady Manta shook her head. What annoyed her most about Laforin was exactly this.

Courage, loyalty, the knight’s path—she had heard it so often her ears were about to grow calluses.

“Cancel their results? Including those few?” Eve asked.

She was referring to Leo, Fidis, and Rog—the three Quasi-Knights who had received rewards.

“Hmph. As Quasi-Knights, they should naturally bear more responsibility. If they cannot face danger, not only will their results be canceled, but their rewards will also be taken back.”

“What!? Take back the rewards! That’s too harsh.” Eve showed doubt.

“Exactly. This is a Level 3 Beastkin. For them, it’s absolutely unbeatable,” Ross also spoke up.

“Yeah, they’re just a bunch of kids. Scaring them a bit is enough. Don’t take it so seriously, boss,” Ray also pleaded.

“Hmph. This isn’t their first ti facing Beastkin. It’s already the second. Who knows when there will be a third?” Laforin’s face was resolute. “And beyond the dormitory area lies a town with tens of thousands of civilians. If even the knights we train are nothing but a scattered ss, what hope do those civilians have?”

It was clear Laforin had made up his mind to give these Knight’s Squires a profound lesson.

“And there will be both rewards and punishnts. Anyone who shows courage—regardless of performance—will be rewarded!” Laforin declared loudly, his gaze sweeping across the panicked Knight’s Squires.

His expression was grim. While he could understand their panic, if this were a real Beast Calamity—

Such panic would be like a breach in a riverbank, collapsing their entire line of defense.

“Unqualified, unqualified, unqualified…” On the other side, Ross’s gaze jumped from one Knight’s Squire to another.

In the end, she looked again at the stubborn Fidis. He seed to have recovered sowhat and was beginning to rise from the ground.

“This foolish kid is still not bad.” Ross still showed so appreciation.

“Not bad?” Anthony laughed. “He has so courage, but he’s nothing more than cannon fodder with bravery and no brains.”

“If he takes another hit, that little one might end up with lasting injuries,” Lady Manta said as she looked at Fidis in the distance.

At that mont, Ray drained the tea in his cup in one gulp and walked toward the edge of the roof. “Everyone, excuse for a mont.”

As he spoke, silver radiance flowed across his body. He stepped forward and leapt down from the do over twenty ters high.

In an instant, Ray transford into a streak of silver light.

With a rapid dash, within a few seconds, he arrived before Fidis.

“Kid, that’s enough.”

A recurve steel bow was slung across Ray’s shoulder. He held a slender sword in his right hand and a glass wine flask in his left, standing between Fidis and the Thunder Lizard.

Just now, Ray had been like a streak of light cutting through the night, instantly calming the panicked crowd.

“Look! An Enforcent Knight!”
