Chapter 89: Suppressing the Dungeon! Centaur Chieftain!

At the edge of the town, the several-ter-high earthen wall had been smashed into ruins.

At the breach, the ground looked as if it had been plowed countless tis by herds of oxen.

Hundreds upon thousands of massive hoofprints rged into a savage torrent, pointing straight toward Blackstone Castle at the center of the town.

In the distance, dozens of Centaurs wielding long spears and stone axes let out thunderous growls.

They were launching their final charge toward the deepest part of Blackstone City—Blackstone Castle.

These giants had rushed all the way from the frozen Centaur Plateau, carrying boiling fury as they stord directly into Blackstone City.

Along the way, any civilians who failed to escape beca tools for venting their rage.

At the very front of the charge—

Was their leader.

A massive Centaur nearly ten ters tall.

Tree-trunk-like lower legs, rock-like rough skin, wall-like dense muscles, and a mountain-like body that inspired fear even from afar.

Even standing ten ters away, one could hear the thunderous heartbeat within his enormous body.

At this mont, he held a gigantic stone pillar in his hand. The bloodstone pendant on his forehead symbolized his supre status within the tribe.

He was the leader of this group.

A Level 4 Centaur Chieftain.

Boom!

With a grinding-stone-thick pillar smashing heavily onto the ground, the Centaur Chieftain halted his steps and stared at the sword-wielding man blocking his path.

From his experience, he could tell this was a formidable human knight.

At the sa ti he saw his opponent, he tightened his grip on the stone pillar—it was the instinctive recognition between powerful beings.

“If you don’t want to die, stop right there!” Laforin shouted violently, his nearly two-ter-long greatsword held horizontally before him.

His expression was solemn—he hadn’t faced such a powerful opponent in a long ti.

He hadn’t expected so many Centaurs this ti.

These inherently violent Beastkin were extrely difficult to deal with. Once enraged, every living being in the city might fall beneath their iron hooves.

Seeing the bloodstains on their bodies, anger surged within Laforin’s chest.

Many civilians had likely already died under these beasts’ hooves.

“Hiss—ROAR!” The Centaur Chieftain exhaled a burst of hot air, pointing his stone pillar straight at Laforin.

This was his signal to charge.

At the sa ti, Laforin also let out a furious roar.

In an instant, as hot breath burst from his mouth and nose—

The Breathing Technique activated, and a silver fla-like aura surged from his body.

The silver radiance rapidly covered him. At this mont, Laforin, alone with his sword, carried the might to stand against an army.

He could not let these beasts advance even a single step further.

The conviction in Laforin’s heart burned fiercely. His steps bood like thunder, his greatsword dragging a streak of silver light as he charged toward the Centaur formation.

Accompanied by pained neighs—

Silver Radiance Charge!

With a violent clash and furious roars—

The Centaur formation’s first charge was forcefully halted by Laforin’s greatsword.

Blood sprayed as five Centaurs fell instantly.

Gripping his sword with both hands, the blade now drenched in scorching beast blood, Laforin stood firm.

Behind him were his people and his kin.

At this mont, he stood like a hen guarding its nest.

As a knight, he enjoyed the support of the entire Blackstone City in peaceti.

At this mont, he could not retreat even half a step—this was the honor of a knight.

“ROAR!”

The Centaur Chieftain snorted, nostrils flaring like kettles.

Though he had sacrificed several subordinates, he had already gauged the strength of this human knight.

His massive hands tightened around the stone pillar as he roared furiously.

At the sa ti, beneath his enormous body, millstone-sized front hooves lifted high.

Boom!

The sound was like thunder.

The ground within nearly a hundred ters trembled.

Cracks several ters long spread instantly across the ground, forming a giant web.

War Stomp!

This was both a command—and a declaration of war.

All the Centaurs were invigorated by the trendous shock.

They understood the command from their chieftain.

Almost simultaneously, dozens of Centaurs charged in all directions.

Slaughter!

There was only one knight ahead.

That knight would be dealt with by their strongest chieftain.

Their task was slaughter—slaughter every living being they encountered in the city.

In this battle, regardless of whether the chieftain won or lost—

They had already won.

Because after today, this would beco a city of the dead.

“Despicable.” Laforin clearly saw through their intent. “I regret not killing more of you during Deep Winter!”

His aura surged to its peak, fury almost bursting from his chest.

The greatsword traced a streak of silver light before him.

Earth Anchor.

Laforin assud a defensive stance, preparing to charge at the Centaur Chieftain.

The only solution now—

Was to kill this monster in front of him as quickly as possible.

As for the other civilians…

There was no choice.

But at that mont, Laforin seed to hear the sound of galloping hooves behind him.

“Quick! Charge!”

“Sir Laforin, we’re here!”

The sound of hooves approached as dozens of Quasi-Knights arrived.

“Perfect timing—stop those beasts!” Laforin’s lips curled into a faint smile.

He glanced back—Eve Sova, Clarsen, and dozens of Quasi-Knights had arrived.

With them holding off the others, he could focus on dealing with the giant beast before him.

The Knight Hall’s response had been swift.

Anthony’s logistical command was, as always, reliable.

According to the ergency plan, the stables were being guarded by Anthony—there would be no worries there.

“Knights! Defend Blackstone City! Kill!”

“Kill!”

Laforin swung his greatsword, the Earth Anchor stance instantly shifting—

Mountain-Cleaving Blade!

“Zoro, watch my back.”

Laforin called out instinctively—but there was no response.

As his knight attendant, Zoro was nowhere to be seen.

This made him sowhat uneasy.

Laforin knew Zoro was sowhere in the city.

But at this mont, there was no ti to think about it.

“Scum—prepare to face a knight’s wrath!” With a furious roar, Laforin charged forward like a raging beast.

……

“I didn’t expect things to escalate this badly.”

Inside the dim dungeon, Leo held his sword in one hand, the blade pressed firmly against a Centaur’s throat.

He was receiving information from the Dragon-Elephant.

After hearing the summons earlier, he hadn’t rushed out imdiately.

Because the many Beastkin imprisoned in the dungeon could also beco a problem if left unchecked.

Moreover, sothing felt off—so Leo decided to first send the Dragon-Elephant outside to scout.

anwhile, he would suppress the unrest among these Beastkin.

At this mont, Leo looked at the Centaur before him, which still seed unwilling to submit.

He suddenly leapt up—

Bang!

Leo slamd the sword hilt heavily onto its forehead.

This was the last troublemaker in the dungeon. Once this one was subdued, the dungeon should stabilize.

During these ten-plus minutes, Leo had also taken the opportunity to train his Mountain-Cleaving Cross Sword to Level 5.

【Mountain-Cleaving Cross Sword (Green) Level 5 3/100】

This Green-tier sword technique wasn’t particularly difficult for Leo.

The progress ca quickly, and its practical combat effectiveness was quite useful.

At this mont, combining the Mountain-Cleaving Cross Sword with the Tide Cross Sword, dealing with this Tier 3 Centaur felt effortless.

Leo glanced at the now subdued and silent Centaur, shot it a glare, and slamd the cell door shut.

“The dungeon is finally quiet again.”

This underground domain was now his territory.

If Lady Manta was the queen here, then he was the king beneath her.

While he couldn’t decide the life or death of these Beastkin, disciplining any disobedient ones was well within his capability.

“Ahem.” Realizing he was starting to resemble those brutal prison guards from movies, Leo adjusted his expression slightly.

That seed sowhat contrary to the Knight’s Code.

He quickly composed himself.

Then he took his bow and arrows, preparing to head toward the stables—there had been quite a disturbance there.

Ever since the last Beast Calamity, Leo had kept Starfall, his bow, and so ergency potions on him at all tis.

Now they would co in handy.

He quickly climbed the stairs, but just as he reached out to open the dungeon door—

He suddenly stopped.

At that exact mont, the Dragon-Elephant had just returned from scouting and arrived at the dungeon entrance.

But at the dungeon entrance—

Stood a person.

A Quasi-Knight holding a longsword.
