Now reading: Chapter 166: Making Plans from What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?, a Action novel by Draekai.

I let out a sigh as I slumped back on my couch inside of the penthouse.

Spread out in front of was a whole pile of books that I had been searching through to see if there might be any clues as to what divine figure I might have awakened as.

Unfortunately, none of what I’ve found closely matches with what abilities I’ve awakened so far so I’m still not close to finding out who I was.

The good news was that I’ve at least ruled out close to a hundred different deities related to the Chinese pantheon by now... Which ans I probably have about a few thousand more possibilities to go...

I let out another sigh, wondering if there was an easier way for to figure out this Mortal God stuff without needing to reference all these texts and information.

Why can’t that halo form of mine just tell the truth? Shouldn’t I instinctively know what it is since the mont I figure it out, I would ’awaken’ anyway?

Well... As much as I wanted to complain, it’s not like the skill would just decide to agree with after I whined about it...

I turned my gaze towards the pile of books in front of , the thought that I needed to return all these books back to where they belonged felt daunting to and a wave of laziness spread over my body.

I wonder if I could just leave this for soone else to do instead?

Right as I thought of that, the notification ca from my phone and I picked it up to see what it was about.

Swiping up on my screen, I realised it was a request from Olivia to use the lift to co up to the penthouse.

They made it such that if anyone wanted to co up to my penthouse, they would need to grant them access through my phone first.

I’m not sure if this was necessary but I guess it was more secure than just giving them access cards or sothing.

Ironically, there’s a balcony just outside the living room so if anyone could fly, they could still just gain entry to this place via that route.

Well... I know they just want to make sure I was safe so I didn’t protest against it.

I tapped on the icon to grant her access to this floor before leaning back in my seat.

It only took a mont before the lift doors opened and a familiar red skinned Oni stepped out with several folders in her hands.

I raised an eyebrow at her, "I don’t rember any etings scheduled today?"

She shook her head, "There’s no etings, my Lord. I am rely here to check up on you."

Her eyes then drifted over to the pile of books that were piled up in front of before she gave a pointed look.

I shook my head, "Nothing... I’ve gone through at least a hundred of them at this point and none of them match."

"I see... Should I prepare more reference materials?"

I sighed and massaged my head, "I don’t even know if the god I’m personifying is even written in these books at all. For all I know, they might just be a really obscure deity."

She tilted her head, "With all the abilities you’ve shown so far? I do not believe they could be soone obscure, my Lord."

I shrugged, "For all I know... They might just have abilities that are compatible with our current World which makes it stronger than what is seen in the myths. If that’s the case, the god I’m supposed to be might actually be soone that is obscure."

"Should we try another way, my Lord?"

I raised an eyebrow, "Another way? Like what?"

She tapped the side of her cheek, "You did say that your God belongs to the eastern culture, right? Maybe if you were to visit the People’s Central Republic territories?"

I raised an eyebrow, "You do realise that place is huge, right? I an... Where do we even start? And would they even want to go there and let find out my God?"

"We could always just go there incognito, my Lord. There’s no need for us to announce ourselves."

"That’s true... But it still doesn’t change the fact that we won’t even know where to start... And I think the other Mortal Gods might not be happy that I went to their territory."

Olivia bowed, "If that is what you wish, my Lord. Shall I help you put these books away?"

I gave her a wry smile, "I think you are overqualified to be cleaning up after , don’t you think? Perhaps we should get so people to work primarily as cleaners here?"

She took out her phone with one hand and started tapping on the screen, "I will keep a note on that, my Lord. I’m not sure if there are Bunarfs who would be happy to take that role but--"

"I don’t think they should as well," I interrupted her. "They’re already working so hard on keeping this place up and running. I’d rather not give them sothing additional to worry about."

"Mmm... I doubt I would be able to just source a third party to help keep this place clean either so... I’m afraid I would have to ask the other Guardians to deal with this first."

I waved my hand and summoned one of the extra hands to start picking up the books, "It’s fine... I can just pick this up after myself. You can just focus on what we need to get this place running at full capacity first. The other Guardians are already stretched thin as it is. Do we have other plans coming up?"

Olivia flipped open the folder that she was carrying, "That’s what I wanted to talk to you about, my Lord. There is going to be a summit involving the Mortal Gods in this region coming up. The other two Mortal Gods within the South Asian Conglorate will be in attendance so I wanted to know if you want to go as well?"

"I have a choice?"

"Of course, my Lord. The summit was planned before you awakened as a Mortal God so they did not account for you. If you would like to attend, I can send them a request and get them to prepare for you."

"Hmm... It wouldn’t look good for us if I were to be the only Mortal God here who did not attend the summit, would it?"

"... I’m afraid so, my Lord."

"Then I suppose I might as well just go and take a look and also greet my fellow Mortal Gods at the sa ti. Where will it be held?"

"They plan to hold it in Sydney, Australia, my Lord. But there’s no need to hurry as it is scheduled to happen a few months from now."

"Huh... That’s an interesting choice..."

"It is considered neutral territory amongst the conglorate considering it is far from everyone else and they don’t have any Mortal Gods of their own as well."

"Make the arrangents to go there then."

"It will be done, my Lord. Also... If it’s not too much to ask, my Lord..."

I tilted my head at her, "What is it?"

"We will be holding the next test for the prospective Guardians in a few days. Could I ask you to participate as well?"

"Oh, is that it? Of course. I’m pretty sure I got a lot of attention from the last test I participated in so it would be weird of them not to see there, right?"

"If my Lord does not wish to participate, I will be able to figure sothing out, you do not need to worry."

"It’s fine. I can attend it. Erm... You don’t mind, right? Because if it will make your job easier if I don’t, then please don’t force yourself."

"It’s alright, my Lord. I would just need to make a few adjustnts to the schedule and everything should be prepared."

"Hmm... Speaking of which, how are the others settling into their new living arrangents?"

She smiled at , "They’re doing fine, my Lord. Though I will admit that a number of them were already looking forward to the next challenge date where they could pry my rights to stay near you away from . But... I think it would be better if you were to visit them and take a look at them yourself, my Lord."

Hmm? Why does it feel like she knows sothing about the Guardians that I don’t?

Are they having troubles in their own rooms that I don’t know about?

Maybe the Guardians did not want to say sothing aloud so if I were to visit them on my own to talk to them... They might actually listen?

Well... Seeing that I was going nowhere with these pile of books anyway... I might as well just go downstairs and take a look at what these people are doing...
