I looked around at the Anomalies surrounding , all of them clearly intent on doing the sa thing to as what they did to those three guys they just ripped apart.
And to think all I have right now are my fists...
The thought that I was most likely going to die here ca to .
Guess I’m quite screwed here...
I had thought that if I were to die, it’s probably during one of the expeditions where so strong Anomaly cos along and wipes out the entire expedition force... Not because I ended up being teleported into a rift on my own.
At least I told my family to eat without waiting for so the food doesn’t get cold for them.
Fuck this.
I cracked my knuckles, "You want to kill ? Then work for it!!"
Instead of waiting for them to attack , I leapt at the closest Anomaly, punching it in the head where I already knew it was a weak spot.
The head literally exploded into gore as I sent the Anomaly flying back, using it as a step stool to jump towards the next Anomaly beside it.
I kicked it across the snout, decapitating the entire head before I landed on my feet.
One of them lunged towards and I raised my hands to catch it, my hands pushing back against its shoulders as it snapped its jaws just a few inches away from my face.
I threw it over my head, smashing it into another Anomaly that tried to jump from behind as I turned to deal with another one that was running towards from the side.
It swiped its claws at and I had to raise up my arms in defense, allowing it to score three claw marks across my left arm.
I grit through the pain and kicked at its leg, forcing it down to a knee so that I can punch it in the face and kill it.
Blood splattered over and so of it got onto my face, forcing to shut my eyes.
That was a mistake as sothing smacked from the side and I found myself flying through the air as the world spun around .
I fell back onto the ground and pain erupted from all over my body as I tucked myself into a ball to absorb the montum.
I got up on a knee, feeling like every bone in my body was broken. Thank fuck that I also had a more durable body than normal to accommodate the super strength but this still hurts like a bitch.
A thump ca directly in front of and I reacted instinctively by punching forward, my fist making contact with the Anomaly that had tried to bite down on in its snout.
Once again, the head of that Anomaly exploded into a fountain of gore as it died.
I could already hear more of them rushing up to from behind the Anomaly so I picked the Anomaly up and used it as a shield to rush towards the horde.
I felt the first impact after taking a few steps and an Anomaly got sent spinning away after I ramd into it. Then another was also sent flying until the third one grabbed onto the corpse and tried to stop in my tracks.
In return, I lifted up my foot and kicked the corpse with as much force as I could muster, smashing both the corpse and the Anomaly behind it through another pair of the creatures.
One of them took the opportunity to leap at from the side, latching its jaws on my left arm and biting down on my elbow.
A scream escaped from my mouth as it tore my arm off, leaving with an ugly stump at the elbow.
I retaliated by punching him with my one good arm, smashing his head in before grabbing my arm back from its jaws.
Another Anomaly thought this was the best ti to try and jump at from my other side so I swung back, using my torn off arm as an improvised club to smash it in the head.
With the extended reach my new weapon gave , I went to club another Anomaly on its head as it tried to swipe with its class, missing by an inch.
One of them managed to sneak behind and jumped at from behind, pushing down on my stomach.
I flailed my arm back, trying to use my torn off arm to smack it away which only succeeded in annoying it as it smacked my amputated limb out from my hand.
I then felt pain explode on my left shoulder as it bit down on it, as if it was trying to tear the rest of my arm off.
"Fuck you!!!" I roared, jamming, my fingers into where its eyes were before I quite literally tore its head off its body.
I then rolled over so that the corpse was now underneath before kicking my legs up, slamming my feet into the abdon of another Anomaly to send it flying up into the air.
I rolled back on my feet and one of them tried to punch so I t it fist for fist.
Our punch collided in the air and my body scread in pain from the impact before the shockwave made skid a few feet back.
My strength was mostly on par with these creatures and if it wasn’t for their extrely vulnerable heads, I would think that I’d already be dead within the first second.
The creature charged at again and I side stepped it before punching it under its snout with my remaining good hand, exploding the head and bathing with even more blood.
I then grabbed onto its arm and swung it around , smacking the next three Anomalies that leapt at away like they were pinatas.
With the corpse still in my hand, I raised it overhead and smashed it down on top of another Anomaly.
One managed to claw across the back so I returned a kick to its face and switched out my half destroyed corpse club for the newer corpse club.
With another yell, I jumped back into the fray and started smacking Anomalies left and right.
I wasn’t sure how long had passed but I was eventually standing on a literal mound of Anomaly corpses, the few remaining Anomalies all growling at from below.
In that ti, I’ve had even more claw marks across my chest and my arm and I’m pretty sure a few of my ribs were broken as well.
I huffed at them, "Heh... Heh... Told you... I’ll make you... Work for it..."
In my remaining hand, I was holding the dangling remains of another Anomaly where only the top half of its body remained.
The last few Anomalies crawled up the mound of corpses, clearly intent on finishing off together so I scrounged up the last of my strength and swung my corpse club one last ti.
It smashed into the first two in front of before the third grabbed onto it and wrenched it out of my hand.
A fourth leapt on my back and pushed down but I managed to roll onto my back as I fell, giving the chance to punch it in the face before kicking its corpse away.
The third Anomaly returned to try and bite while I was down and got a kick in the face for its efforts.
I tried to push myself back on my feet but my strength finally ran out and I fell face first onto the corpse mound, my entire body refusing to respond to .
I grit my teeth and looked up, finding one final Anomaly slowly advancing towards on all fours.
As though it sensed that I was finally on my last legs, it ran over and pounced on , rolling onto my back.
It then opened its mouth and I got to see its razor sharp teeth for a mont before it shot forward to latch its teeth around my neck.
My vision clouded over with red spots and I knew there was no coming back from this.
As a last act of defiance, I willed the very last of my strength and lifted my arm, my hand landing on top of its head while the monster continued to chew on my neck.
The creature felt my fingers curl around its cranium and I wasn’t sure if it knew what I was trying to do but decided it didn’t matter.
Then I squeezed.
There was a distinct pop and blood splattered all over again.
Then... All was silent.
The battlefield that had been rife with sounds of battle had suddenly grown tranquil.
Without any strength left in , I was just stuck looking up at the crimson sky.
Now I kind of understand why so people say that they would like to see the skies of their ho before they die... Because it sure sucks looking up at a sky you don’t recognise when you’re on your final monts.
I let out a pained breath, aware that I was most likely drawing my last as my vision slowly darkened.
I guess this is it huh...
I suppose now I wait for the cold embrace of death...
