So... We pretty much learned that I was pretty weird even as a Psionic.
But Amber, Mara and Renata just chalked it up to "As expected of Tera/Daddy" and moved on.
At least Mara had an explanation that it was most likely due to my perks that I chose from the character creation.
I had no other explanations for it so I just accepted it.
After that, I just tried to use powers as much as possible like Mara had suggested.
The first thing I tried to do was learn how to levitate and apparently that was actually supposed to be a pretty advanced skill.
The reason it was considered more difficult to make yourself levitate than making inorganic objects levitate was because you can’t exactly see yourself to control your levitation.
You would need to have a good sense of your own body and your own size to be able to move yourself around or else you might risk tearing your own body apart.
But well... I only knew about its difficulty after I already succeeded in levitating myself the mont Mara suggested it.
It didn’t even take a minute as I imdiately tried to make myself float up from the ground when I heard that this would help improve my control over my powers.
I just thought about floating off the ground and it worked.
I didn’t even experience anything like flinging myself into the wall or even falling on my face.
Mara and Amber just gave up trying to tell what was possible and what shouldn’t be possible and just let do whatever I wanted after that.
To be honest... This is so cool!! I’m surprised that Mara and Amber weren’t just doing this all the ti and still walk around like normal!
Like look! I don’t even need to walk around anymore! I can just float around and not worry about tiring my legs out!
Not that I was ever tired walking around the ship to begin with anyway, but it just felt really cool that I was floating around the ship like there was no gravity.
Both Mara and Amber also gave odd looks after they learned that I could practically keep this up as long as I wanted to for so reason and I assud that it was because they are used to hiding their powers so having flaunt mine was weird.
It’s not like we have anyone on the crew who didn’t know that I was basically a Psionic at this point.
I also decided that this wasn’t challenging enough so I decided to increase the difficulty by trying to improve my concentration.
Like what Mara had told , I just needed to practice more to increase my control over my powers.
That’s why I decided to make it even more challenging for myself by finding random objects to keep them floating around as I went along my day.
I realised my limit was revolving two things around while I floated around and if I added another object, one of them would inevitably fall onto the ground.
So I kept a third object around my palm which I would try to keep splitting a part of my attention to try and lift it up.
It’s a slow process but I think I’m getting there~
And yes, both Mara and Amber saw my thod of training as weird.
I also got to see their ’ritual’ in using the Psionic Crystals to strengthen themselves and I have to say that it looks like I was watching so kind of occult practice.
The ritual involved them placing the Psionic Crystals around in a circle and then having one of them sit in the centre of the circle to absorb the energy from the crystals or sothing.
The only thing that was missing that would really make it look like so kind of occult ritual was having them draw a pentagram on the ground.
From their description of the feeling, they ntioned that it was like they were sucking in so kind of energy from the crystals themselves.
Even with that, I wasn’t really sure what to expect as I took my own place in the middle of the crystals.
"Just relax, Captain. Reach out with your senses and you should be able to feel the crystals themselves. Then absorb the power within them into yourself," Mara assured .
Amber chuckled, "Ehehehe~ I think Tera can just do whatever she wants at this point~"
Co on, Amber... Don’t make it sound like I’m a freak...
Still, I took position in the centre of the circle surrounded by five Psionic Crystals and took a seat with my legs crossed.
We were specifically using one of the empty bedrooms for this as well since, according to them, there might be explosions which might ruin the room.
Despite giving them a pointed look when they said that, they assured that it would be safe.
I sucked in a breath and closed my eyes, reaching out my senses and trying to feel out the crystals that were surrounding .
I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I did feel so objects surrounding .
And since there were five of them, these objects I was feeling must be the Psionic Crystals.
Now... How do I absorb them? Do I just try to pull them towards or sothing? But would that just pull the crystals themselves to instead of the Psionic energy inside the crystals?
Wait... There seems to be sothing else there... Sothing like a jelly substance within the crystals... Is that the energy that the two were talking about?
Whatever, let just try it out first.
I imagined the jelly-like substance being pulled towards from one of the crystals, the substance entering my body.
Once again, I really didn’t know what to expect to happen here. Maybe it was nothing or even or just a rush of power or sothing.
But what I definitely did not expect to happen was the feeling of falling suddenly washing over like a hole had opened underneath and I was falling into it.
I really thought that I was falling and tried to reach out my hands and legs to straighten myself to stop myself from falling, only to realise that I could not move.
I also could not open my eyes and I realised why when a single eye opened up in the darkness to stare at .
The eye did not really looked human since there were black dots around the sclera and the iris looked like it was made of different galaxies mashed together with no discerning pupil in the centre.
For so reason, I did not feel threatened or even frightened by the eye. And no, it wasn’t because I felt a sense of safety from it either.
The only thing I can say I felt from it was just neutrality, like the eye was just looking at a random speck of dust.
The galaxies around the eye seed to shift a little and a pupil ford in the centre of the iris, turning it into a multicoloured pupil that gave off light.
The feeling of neutrality suddenly changed and a great pressure seed to press down on and my chest felt tight, my breath catching in my lungs.
I had to force myself to breathe before I could expel the air in my lungs and that seed to break the feeling and the eye suddenly snapped closed.
The feeling of falling washed over again and dropped into the void once more.
As suddenly as it started, I snapped back into focus and my eyes opened, finding myself in the exact sa place as before where I was seated in the middle of the circle of Psionic Crystals.
I sucked in a lungful of air and gasped, "Did... Did anything happen to ?"
Amber blinked, "Sothing happened? What happened, Tera?"
"Was I doing anything weird? Did a giant eye suddenly appear or sothing?" I asked.
Mara and Amber looked at each other and seed to share a silent conversation before turning back to .
"Ermm.... Nothing happened, Tera. Did you see sothing?"
"Captain, what happened?"
"I... I felt myself falling... Then there was a giant eye appearing in the void and I felt pressure pushing down on ... Is that normal?"
"N... No... Definitely not."
I looked down at my chest, "Renata? What was that? Did you see it?"
"Uuu... Not at all. Daddy. I think whatever you saw was only limited to your own mind."
"But... Any idea what that eye might be? The iris looked like it was made of galaxies and the iris was like... Multicoloured and even shining."
All three of them had no idea what it could be.
The fact that even Renata didn’t know about it was quite concerning.
But I guess all of them arrived at the sa conclusion...
I should probably not absorb Psionic energy from Psionic Crystals for now...
