This was actually my first ti flying at full speed using my powers but it wasn’t really any different from my usual levitation aside from just needing to use a little bit more force than normal.
To the people below, I was probably just a black blur that sped past in the sky above so I doubt anyone could even see what it was.
The location that Eleanor had given seed to be on the rooftop of a particular building which suited just fine as that ant I could just fly there directly.
As I was reaching the place, I idly wondered why they wanted to stop this particular deal from happening.
From my short ti interacting with Barak, it seems like their company does have ambitious plans but their ideas weren’t exactly solid.
If it was , I would have labelled them as drears and while it was nice to hear that they were willing to customise an Exo-Knight model according to our specifications, this could have been done by anyone else as well.
Could they have sothing that normal people didn’t know about and the Nobles wanted to nab them up before others could get a hold of them?
I should probably ask Elearnor later before--

I was driven out of my thoughts by an explosion at the exact place where the eting was supposed to happen.
No way... Did the guy get assassinated or sothing? Maybe I wasn’t the only one who was sent to deal with them and there’s other Nobles who were also trying to get that guy as well?
I shot through the air and hovered right above the roof of the building.
Looking down from above, I could see Barak hiding in a corner behind what looks like an AC unit while a group of people were gathered on the other side.
Judging by what they were wearing and their equipnt, it seems like there were at least four different groups down there.
One group was the one I was supposed to intercept since the other person in the picture that Eleanor had sent was standing amongst them. These people were wearing the standard suit and tie and looked like they were definitely here to conduct a business deal.
The second group facing them directly looked like so kind of elite rcenary group with their Power Armour and weapons, each of them equipped like they were prepared to take on a tank by themselves with the ordnance they had brought along.
The third group was a bunch of people wearing punk clothes with spikes around them and riding what appeared to be hover bikes with guns attached to them. These guys had the most numbers and looked like a swarm of mosquitoes surrounding the roof.
The final group was inside so kind of armoured vehicle that was also hovering in the air. It looked like a drop ship of sorts and the side of the vehicle had slid open to reveal several ard n manning heavy turrets that were pointed at the bikers and the roof.
They also seed to be the cause of the explosion as one of the turret barrels was still smoking and there was a small crater on the roof where the explosion must have occurred.
What the heck is this? I literally just ca to stop a single business deal and I’m t with so xican stand off between four different groups of people...
Well what am I supposed to do here?
Hmm? Wait a minute... The whole plan was to stop the business deal from happening right? So technically I’ve already completed it haven’t I?
I don’t actually need to do anything about this, right?
My gaze then went towards Barak who was still hiding behind the AC unit. If those guys co to blows, I don’t think he’s going to survive either.
If all of them decide to back off... There’s the possibility that they might attempt another negotiation with him, this ti maybe even getting it from him forcefully.
Now I’m confused why there’s so many people after him? Weren’t they supposed to be a small Outer Colony Exo-Knight company? Why is their sales representative being targeted here?
Ok, now I’m pretty sure there’s sothing about that company that I am not aware of... And if there’s multiple Noble Families targeting them, I have a feeling that I don’t want them to get their hands on him either.
Fuck it, I’m going in.

I felt sothing change on my back and I turned around to see that Renata had created so kind of bump with ports that look like thrusters on my back.
From just a glance, it would look like this was a kind of jetpack or sothing.
You’re a genius, Renata!
Alright, let’s do this!
I dove straight down towards the cowering sales rep, flaring my arms to slow myself down before I crashed into him and landed without a sound.
Unfortunately, with such a big open space, everyone quite literally saw flying there and their attention was turned towards my direction.
I didn’t have ti to say anything so I went ahead to grab the panicking sales rep by his arm and pulled him up before leaping back up into the sky.
As soon as I was airborne, a laser blasted against my shield and it shattered imdiately.
I spun around to see one of those rcs in the Power Armour pointing an especially large rifle up at , already taking aim for his second shot.
As though that was the cue, everyone else also started shooting and I wondered if they actually wanted Barak dead or alive.
Pretty sure if they wanted him alive, they would not be shooting right now so I can only assu that they were sent here to kill him.
I had to dodge through the hail of bullets being fired at and also keep the guy below safe, since he wouldn’t be able to tell why everyone was after him if he’s dead.
Figuring that him being below would make it easier for him to get hit, I did a spin in midair and flung him into a princess carry while avoiding several stray bullets that whizzed past .
Right then, I saw the guy with the giant laser gun taking aim again and I imdiately redirected my flight path towards the side.
The sniper must not have expected such a movent since a jetpack probably wouldn’t have allowed for such an instantaneous side movent like that.
That’s why his shot flew past and I quickly dove down to the city streets below, using the buildings around for cover.
While I was out of range for the two groups that were stuck on the roof, the bikers and that flying armoured car imdiately took off after .
I would have thought they would try to keep civilian casualties down but... Even as I was flying above the crowded streets, both the bikers and the armoured car continued firing at , their bullets shredding through the air around .
Though most of the bullets ended up embedding themselves harmlessly in the buildings, there were a few stray rounds that landed on the streets below and I could hear so cries of pain as I flew past.
Damnit... These people are fucking crazy...
I could have just destroyed them but that would reveal myself as a Psionic and their debris would also land on the streets below so I should just focus on evading them first.
Thankfully, I already figured out a way since all of them needed a vehicle to fly while I did not.
I dove down to the streets until I was skimming along the ground, moving through a part of the city where the streets were narrower.
The armoured vehicle imdiately pulled away before it crashed into a building, its gunners firing a last hail of bullets at which missed completely as I turned into an alley.
The narrow streets also prevented the bikers from swarming after and only a few could stay on my heels lest they crashed into each other.
I dodged and weaved through the narrow streets and I heard a crash behind as one of them couldn’t turn in ti and ended up smashing into the wall.
There were still a few more on my tail and I saw the opportunity to give them the slip by flying through the open doors of a building, their bikes being too big to fit through.
They did try to shoot at again but my shield had already recovered and it protected us from being hit so I managed to fly out of sight before leaving through a side door, using the alley to move even further before landing in the shadows nearby.
Alright... Now I need to figure out how to get the both of us out of here without being spotted...
