I manoeuvred the ship into the hangar, slowly managing the speed of the ship to pass through the shield that separated the hangar bay from the void of space.
I could already see a whole crowd of people gathered in the hangar, all of them looking up at my ship as I flew into their view.
All of them were crowding around a specific docking bay that was also conveniently lit up so I knew which one I was expected to dock the ship at, prompting to shift my ship in that direction as I brought it down for a landing.
I then powered it down before stepping out of the cockpit to leave the ship, finding myself being surrounded by an entire mob of people that crowded around the docking bay.
They weren’t here for of course. They were all here to look at my ship, as evident from the fact that none of them actually paid any attention but were looking at my ship instead.
If it weren’t for the barrier surrounding the docking bay, I would think these people would have tried to climb on top of the ship or do sothing equally stupid.
Walking away from my ship, I found Theresa standing nearby, the dragon girl also marvelling at my ship and completely missing .
I had to walk up and wave my hand in front of her face before she actually noticed .
"Ah! Miss Tera!! Th... Thank you for this opportunity!! I will never forget this!!"
I shrugged, "That’s fine and all but what would you guys actually be doing here? With my ship, I an."
She tilted her head, "What do you an, miss Tera?"
"I an... What are you guys planning on doing with my ship? Are you really just going to stand there and look at it?"
Theresa gasped, "Are you... Offering to let us fly the ship?"
I imdiately shook my head, "No, no, no. That’s definitely not happening. I was just wondering if you guys really are satisfied with looking at it just like that?"
She clasped her hands together, "Of course, miss Tera! I would have never thought that I would have a chance to even see a Verlandi up close! Especially when it’s one of the original variants and not just a modded variant or even one of the lookalikes! This is the best day of my life!!"
Really? All this from a ship?
I an... I know people who are obsessed with trains, planes and even trucks but... The obsession with this ship seed to be universal in this universe for so reason to the point of absurdity...
And all of this for a single specific ship as well...
I cleared my throat, "Well... What I’m trying to get at is... If all you want is just to look at it from a distance, then I don’t mind just leaving the ship here so people can just co along and look at it when they want to."
After all... The initial plan was that I just fly the ship here, let them look at it for so ti, then I fly it back to my ship.
Which honestly felt really pointless if you ask .
She gasped and I also noticed several of the others around her also swivelled their heads to and gaped when they heard that.
Theresa grabbed my hands, "Truly?! You... You would trust us this much?"
I raised an eyebrow, "I’m literally working here as your colleague right now aren’t I? If I didn’t actually trust you guys I wouldn’t even be here. But like I said, only looking, no touch."
"Yes, yes! Don’t worry, miss Tera! Your ship will be in safe hands!! We will take perfect care of your ship and make sure no harm befalls on such a fine ship!!"
Well... You don’t really need to do anything special... Just make sure that people don’t climb on it or try to steal it or whatever... Though I doubt anyone’s going to steal it since they’re all living on this station so where are they going to run off to?
Anyway, putting the ship here will also allow to respond faster to threats as well since I can just fly out from here instead of going back to the Iridescence first.
That is... Assuming they don’t lend an Exo-Knight to pilot for patrolling of course.
As I prepared to leave the hangar to let these people marvel at my ship, shouts ca from the side and I turned to see a group of people literally sprinting towards us.
Leading the group at the very front was a bunny girl and a goat girl, both of them pushing and shoving against each other to try and get in front of the other.
"You stupid goat!! If it wasn’t because of you being so slow, we would have been here five minutes ago!!"
"You’re in no position to bla when you were the one who neglected checking your ssages you stupid rabbit!!"
The both of them slapped at each other and didn’t even stop until they crashed into the back of the crowd, both of them falling onto their haunches.
They looked up to glare at the person they bumped into but that also ant my ship ca into their view and their glares quickly turned into awe.
They stood up on their feet slowly and approached the ship, squeezing their way towards the front of the crowd.
Surprisingly, the people around them didn’t really care that they were pushing their way there and simply stepped aside to let them pass.
When they finally reached the front of the crowd, they gaped up at the ship, their faces almost exactly the sa as their colleagues surrounding them.
Incidentally, they had also picked the spot that was directly beside to stand so I was getting front row seats to their reactions.
Rosalia gulped, "That’s... That’s really a Verlandi... And it’s an original..."
"How are you sure it’s an original variant?" Friederike asked without looking at her.
Rosalia gestured at the ship, "First thing is the size... Most of the modded variants and reproductions don’t make them in this size because of the cost. Then there’s the swept back wings design which doesn’t actually give the ship any practical benefits when flying in space... They were designed with atmospheric flight in mind at that ti since they were made and launched from a planet instead of in space like how most ships are made now... That’s actually the biggest evidence to know that it’s an original."
Well... That’s news to because I didn’t know about that either.
Also, I’m questioning if I got stuck in so subliminal space right now because it is a little eerie to see a whole bunch of people gathered around and just staring up at a ship without moving much.
Sure, there were a few people taking photos and recording it with their personal terminals but most of them were just standing there and staring at it.
I’m pretty sure even people would at least move around when admiring a painting but all of them were just looking at the ship like they were hypnotised.
Rosalia suddenly recovered and looked around before spotting , prompting her to rush towards and start shaking my shoulders.
"Miss Tera!! Miss Tera!! Could I ask if we are allowed to board the ship?!"
Well, I was kind of expecting that to begin with so I’m surprised that it took this long for soone to suggest that.
I raised my hand, "First of all... Calm down a little Rosalia..."
She gasped and quickly released , "Sorry! Sorry!! I got too excited!"
I crossed my arms, "Second of all... I don’t mind opening it up for people to look inside it as long as they don’t touch or take anything."
It really wasn’t a problem since I’ve pretty much taken out everything personal from within the ship.
The only things that were left inside were supplies, ammunition and energy cells in case I found myself on the ship and needed to spend several days out in space in it.
Rosalia quickly nodded her head, "Don’t worry!! We will make sure no one does anything to your ship! We just want to admire it!!"
"I also heard that you would be helping with making personal Exo-Knights for and my companions?"
"Yes!! We can discuss the details later and I will spare no effort in making the best Exo-Knight in return for this opportunity!"
"Also... I’m not going to be here to supervise people looking around the ship so I’m expecting you guys to manage the crowd. If anything happens I expect compensation for any damages."
"We will definitely bear the full cost of anything that might happen to it! You can trust us!"
Alright, I got that all on record so...
I tapped on my personal terminal and the boarding ramp of my ship lowered onto the ground.
There you go~ Knock yourselves out.
