We followed her out of that hangar bay with the turtle lumbering along behind .
There were a few armoured guards who followed along but all of them were maintaining a wide distance from us, clearly unwilling to get any closer to the turtle that was behind us.
I was quite cautious as I kept an eye out on our surroundings, wondering if this woman was leading us to a trap.
Though if she was, I wondered just what kind of trap she had prepared that might help her deal with the turtle behind .
We eventually reached what looked like an industrial cargo elevator which we stepped onto with that woman.
A few of the guards also followed along, occupying the spots that were furthest away from the turtle as possible, which wasn’t really that hard to do considering the platform was big enough to fit a small ship on it.
The lift started its descent as the large doors closed shut, my stomach lurching from the sudden movent.
I decided to speak up as I turned towards the woman, "Don’t suppose you’ll tell us what’s going on?"
She gave a side eye before looking forward again, "You shall see soon enough."
Tsk...
I turned to my girls and both of them gave reassuring looks.
If it really ca down to a fight, then we would not be outgunned anyway.
I settled myself to wait as the lift continued its descent.
Just as I was wondering how deep we were going to descend, the elevator ca to a stop and the doors slid open slowly.
I believe we were not at the bottom most level of the station and it looked like this place was ant to be so kind of storage area but had been changed to so kind of zoo or sothing.
The hall was a wide open space with various large rooms ant to be warehouses but have now been turned into animal exhibits where the walls and doorway had been converted to a see-through glass.
In each of these enclosures was so kind of creature and while so of them looked familiar, most of the creatures here were completely alien to .
The interesting part was that the enclosures weren’t just solid tal but each of them seed to have been designed and decorated to feature the creature’s habitat so it was made to look both natural and also comfortable for the creature inside them.
Right now, the place seed to be empty aside from guards that were patrolling around as well as what looked to be animal handlers feeding and taking care of the creatures inside the enclosures.
I looked at her with a raised eyebrow and she stepped forward to gesture towards the hall in front of us.
"What do you think?" She asked, as if she had just finished explaining to us her entire plan.
I raised an eyebrow, "What do I think? I don’t even know who you are or what this place is. What do you think I am thinking?"
She turned to and frowned, "Hmm... That’s odd... I thought for sure if you were able to control that creature, you would be sowhat like ... Are you not a Biotar?"
I blinked at her as a new term was just thrown at that I have never heard before.
"What’s a Biotar?" I asked.
She stared at for a mont before frowning, "You don’t know? How did you manage to control that creature then? Are you not even aware of your capabilities?"
"Look lady, I’m just here to deliver it because apparently you ordered for it to be smuggled here. What are you even talking about?"
She narrowed her eyes, "Which family are you from?"
Eh? Wait... Does she already think that I’m a Psionic?
I shook my head, "I’m not a noble."
"I’m not asking if you’re a Noble. I’m asking which family are you from?"
Oh... So not a noble family but just a family na or sothing?
But even then... What am I supposed to say here?
Amber ca to my rescue, "We ca from the Outer Colonies. We aren’t from here. We’re not from any family in particular."
The teal haired roman looked even more confused before she pointed at , "You... Really never heard of a Biotar before?"
"No? This is the first ti I’m hearing that term. What the heck is that?"
She turned to the side and gestured to one of the armoured guards, "You there... Bring Seraphim here."
The guard seed to freeze up as though he was just ordered to do sothing impossible or sothing.
Nevertheless, he quickly ran off and the woman turned back to , "Is this your first ti being able to control a creature like that? Be honest with ."
Lea spoke up in my stead, "I don’t see why we need to tell you anything. Our job here is to deliver the creature, not to tell you our life story."
The woman scoffed, "Fair enough... I suppose I have been quite unreasonable so far... Let’s start again then."
She took a mont to straighten herself and sohow, it felt like the atmosphere around her changed slightly as she gestured to herself.
"Yuki Nakamura. Eldest of the Nakamura Family of Biotars. Current head of Nakamura Security and also your client for this job."
Err... Does she want to introduce myself here or sothing? I guess we’ve already co all this way at this point and they also know my ship too so might as well...
"Tera... rcenary," I answered her without going into any other details. Especially not introducing Lea and Amber to her either.
If that bothered her, the teal haired woman did not show it.
Instead, she nodded at , "Tera, I see... Interesting na."
Right then, we heard a bark from a dog which was then followed by a scream.
We turned in the direction of the scream to see the guard that had ran off earlier returning in a full sprint with what looked like a golden retriever running behind him.
I would have thought the dog was looking to play with the guard if it wasn’t for the fact that it was snarling and biting at his heels.
After everything that I have learned about dogs, I would be assuming the dog to be sothing that would make everyone panic and run for their lives.
Then again... I guess this guard was technically running for his life right now.
The Yuki woman scowled at the sight, "Seraphim... Over here."
Surprisingly, the dog actually stopped and changed its direction to run over to her, only to stop to start sniffing in my direction.
The woman seed to take offense to that and spoke in a more firm tone, "Seraphim. I said over here."
The dog took a mont to sniff again before it eventually plodded over to Yuki’s side.
Both Lea and Amber were now watching the woman closely, their hands on their weapons and their bodies tensed.
It took a mont to realise that they were like that because they were expecting the woman to command the dog to attack us.
On the other hand, I was just trying to hold myself back from going to pet it.
Yuki gestured at the dog beside her, "I assu this is the first ti you’re seeing this, right? I am able to command the dog here to do my bidding with just my words alone. That’s the power of a Biotar which I believe you possess as well."
I raised an eyebrow, "What kind of power is that?"
"It’s a power that allows us to control certain creatures. Every Biotar has specific creatures which they are able to control. Yours seem to be that creature in particular."
Hmm... Is it though?
I looked at the golden retriever that hadn’t stopped looking at the entire ti.
I reached out my hand towards it, "Over here girl~ Co here~"
She scoffed, "It’s no use, Seraphim obeys only m--"
The dog imdiately ran over to and started panting, her tail wagging excitedly.
I went ahead to start patting the dog, rubbing its cheeks and head which eventually led to the dog rolling on her back to present her belly to .
Naturally, I transitioned to giving her belly scritches, prompting the dog to let out a whine of happiness as its tail continued to wag behind it.
It even gave a happy bark as though to encourage so I scratched at it even faster, making its tail wag faster as a result.
So cute~ And it’s also really fluffy too~
I peeked at Yuki to see the woman staring at with eyes as wide as saucers, her jaw hanging open as she beheld the sight of patting her pet dog.
Sorry Yuki... But it seems like your dog likes too.
Just let pet her for a while more ok?
