I flew away from the remains of the ship and turned back to look at Ries who was looking up at me with wide eyes.
"You... You did it Boss... You really did it..." She muttered.
"Just to make sure... That was really the guy right?" I asked, jerking my thumb in the direction of where the remains of his ship were still floating off into space.
She nodded, "I checked the stream just now... And it showed that he was fighting you so that was definitely him."
"Good. Would be dumb if that wasn’t him and just some random guy that just so happened to be here."
Since I got confirmation that that was indeed the guy we’re after, I manoeuvred the ship over to the ship’s remains and started looting it.
Hey, just because I only came here for this, I wasn’t going to just leave free loot lying around either.
Also, the looting functioned quite similarly to the game where you can just get the stuff with a window popup instead of physically going into the ship to loot it, so I could just grab all of this guy’s stuff even if his ship was torn into pieces.
I made sure to empty all of his stuff before flying away, boosting off to a safe zone where I could safely log out of the game.
Right on time as well, since I spotted a whole bunch of ships warping in at that exact moment, no doubt other players who have seen the stream of me managing to defeat this SonicSlayer guy and probably hoping to take me out to get bragging rights or the loot.
My ship disappeared from the game and I felt myself return back to the real world, the VR Capsule powering down with a low whine.
I blinked as the area around me shifted to show the interior of the VR Capsule and I pulled up the headpiece to detach it from my head, right as the capsule opened up to allow me to step out.
I was instantly met with Ries lunging towards me and hugging me tightly, my Maochatte lover burying her face in my boobs.
"Booooosssssss!!! That was the coolest thing ever!!! Did you see? Did you see?!"
I patted her head, "Calm down, Ries. See what?"
She pulled back to show me her personal terminal and I realised it was the stream from that SonicSlayer guy.
She rolled back the video to show the exact moment I defeated them and the chat box exploding with ments, all of them showing shock and disbelief that their streamer had been defeated.
Almost all of them were wondering who I was and whether I was also a streamer and I could see Ries had infiltrated the chat and sent them links to our own video channel.
She then swiped to our channel where she had just uploaded the video of our fight with that guy and I was already looking at a viewership count of more than a million.
The video was literally only uploaded just a few minutes ago... This is insane...
As a parison, the other videos that Ries had uploaded for us barely got a few thousand views despite being up for a period of time.
And even as I watched, the number on that video we posted jumped up to two million, then four million, before it suddenly exploded to fifteen million and just kept climbing higher and higher.
Ries was grinning at me proudly, "You’re viral now, Boss!! We can make use of this! I already have recordings of our earlier battles ready to be uploaded! We can ride this trend all the way and hit the top spots!!"
I blinked at her for a moment before speaking, "Will it actually work though?"
Ries made a peace sign with her hand, "Leave it to me, Boss! I know what to do with it!"
Without waiting for my response, she ran out of the room to god knows where, leaving me alone inside the recreation room.
As if waiting for that moment, a blob formed on my chest and popped out to splatter onto the ground, transforming into Renata with her normal purple hair.
"Daddy~ Are you going to play any other games? That was fun!"
"Which part? The hacking of the game part?" I asked.
She giggled, "Ehehehe~ Exactly! I got to see how the system worked! I want to try hacking another game!"
I made a face at her, "You’re basically connected to the GalaNet at all times, right?"
"That’s right, Daddy!"
"Then... You could technically just jump into any game you want and hack it right now, can’t you? Not that I’m encouraging you to do so, though..."
"Mmmm!! It’s not just the hacking! I’ve found out that being inside that space actually feels nice to be in! It’s all warm and fuzzy!"
Hmm? Maybe she feels that way because she’s originally an AI so being inside cyberspace might be forting to her rather than being in the physical world?
I tapped the side of my cheek, "Same thing right? You can just stay inside the cyberspace as well without needing to be out here either. And you don’t need me to be there with you to do it?"
She pouted at me, "But without Daddy there, it’s boring! I only want to be with Daddy!!"
I scratched my cheek, "Well... I honestly think this life is already a big game for me at this point and it would feel weird for me to be spending time playing other games..."
Renata came up to me and hugged me tightly, bringing her face up to my boobs and quite literally melting herself so that she could fuse the front part of her body with my clothes to get closer to me.
"Mmm... It doesn’t have to be all the time, Daddy! You know how you hang out with everyone else throughout the day from time to time? Just spend some time with me there!"
Hmm... I guess I can do that... I mean... We did get all these VR Capsules after all... It would be a waste to not use them at all.
And I am kind of curious what other things you could do with the VR Capsules of this universe so I might as well try them out anyway.
I shrugged, "Alright, alright. I can do that. But don’t get me into any games that require me to sink a large portion of my time to be any good, ok? I’m afraid I’ll get addicted and then start neglecting my life outside of the game."
I know how exactly that might destroy a person’s life and I have no intent to let myself be subjected to that at all.
It’s also kind of related to my tendency to want to excel at whatever game I play and if I won’t be satisfied if I don’t at least be one of the top few in the game.
That’s why I managed to get all the skills I have right now, after all... And also why I kind of agreed to Ries’s plan because I could test it out in this universe as well.
As though reading my mind, Renata slid herself up so that her face was directly in front of mine while she was attached to me like some kind of slime, her lower half merging back with the clothes I was wearing.
"Don’t worry, Daddy! We don’t even need to do that! We can just hang out in cyberspace and just not do anything! In fact, let’s go right now! I want to show you something!"
She was already pulling me back towards the VR Capsule so I didn’t try to fight it and let her settle me back down inside the modded VR Capsule that Ries had made specifically for me.
She melted back into my clothes and I moved the headpiece back down on my head before starting up the machine again.
My vision swam and I found myself back inside the dark space that was within the GalaNet.
A tear opened in space and instead of a full sized Renata, it was a small, palm sized Renata wearing a maid uniform and floating along on fairy wings.
"Look, look, Daddy! Aren’t I cute?" She giggled, spinning around me excitedly.
Ok, yeah, that’s really cute.
I looked around the empty space, "So... What are we doing here?"
"Ehehehe~ That’s the fun thing, Daddy! We can do anything! I just want to be with Daddy so Daddy can tell me whatever you want to do and I can make it happen! This is my space! I can even do something like this!"
She then did another spin around me and the black void started to change as things popped out from the ground and appeared out of thin air to assemble themselves.
I watched as the various things slotted themselves into place and then it formed into what looked like a room.
A very familiar room.
My old room.
...
Renata... How did you know what my old room looked like?
