What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy? Chapter 1184: The King Of Nekinumi
"Announcing the arrival of the Pri Minister! The honoured Masuyama! Accompanying him is the rcenary, Miss Aster!"
That was our cue.
I followed behind Masuyama as he led the way into what I assud was the throne room where a large number of people were seated on both sides of the room facing each other.
Most of them were dressed in quite formal clothes so I assu they were nobles or sothing.
All of them turned to look at us as we entered the hall, which was once again designed to be more practical than for the aesthetics.
It was basically a simple hall where the attendants were seated in seiza position in front of a small elevated platform where the people of higher authority would occupy.
There were only two people currently occupying said platform with one of them being a notable rugged looking but still handso middle aged man with golden brown hair. His Inugami ears were almost invisible in his hair that looked more like a golden mane.
Even without using [Screened], I could already tell he’s most likely a seasoned fighter with the scars on his arms but yet he doesn’t look beaten down by them.
His clothes were definitely the nicest in the entire hall though it seed like the sleeves were intentionally left out to show off his arms which were also quite muscular.
That should be the King I guess?
Beside him was a rather petite woman who looked almost half his size with a head of striking red hair that seed to cascade around her like a waterfall. If anyone told that she was the princess or the daughter of the King, I would have believed them, but if I’m not wrong, she was the Queen.
There was no throne aside from just cushioned seats placed on the elevated platform which two of them were being occupied by the King and Queen with the others being empty.
I’m going to guess that the empty seats were ant for either their children or the King’s concubines who were not present right now.
Oh, just in case you were wondering... I was told by Masuyama not to use [Screened] on anyone in the room earlier.
Apparently he also made an enchantnt to counter Off-Worlder’s [Screened] skill as a way to identify who were Off-Worlders and the skill wouldn’t even work anyway.
When I asked how he managed to do that, he basically told that the [Screened] skill was basically a more powerful version of the [Analyze] spell but it functioned the sa way. Which ant that there were enchantnts already in place that would counter the [Analyze] spell which would in turn counter the [Screened] skill as well.
Which ant that most people in important positions would have sothing that would block the [Analyze] spell.
In Masuyama’s case, it’s in the form of a ring that he would normally wear that he chose not to wear when he went to find that day, since he knew I would have used the skill on him to check if he was who he said he was.
Following behind the Pri Minister, we walked past the seated nobles before we stopped a short distance away from the raised platform to kneel in front of the King and Queen.
"Greetings your Majesty," Masuyama greeted with his head bowed.
"Masuyama huh? I heard you’ve done sothing outrageous again, haven’t you?" The King asked in a surprisingly lively voice.
Masuyama kept his head bowed, "I fear that this ti, it is not exactly good news, your Majesty."
"So I’ve heard. But still outrageous nevertheless. Ah, please raise your heads."
I waited for Masuyama to raise his before I did and the both of us moved to a seiza sitting position.
I almost reflexively looked at the King and Queen until I rembered that I should not do that until I was spoken to directly so I quickly directed my gaze downwards, opting to look at the edge of the platform instead.
"So tell us, Masuyama. What have you done this ti?" The King asked.
There’s no way that the King doesn’t already know this since the rewards had already been decided... So I believe that they were having this ’conversation’ simply to reveal this to the other nobles in the room who were still unaware of what happened.
"Umu... It’s not what I did... But more like what I’ve found, your Majesty," Masuyama answered.
"Yes, yes. Let’s just hear it then."
"I believe you are aware of the police force that I have made, yes?"
"That’s right. They have been quite instruntal in dealing with criminals and disorder within the city. I am aware of their exploits."
"It is with deep regret that I had caught wind that their leader had fallen to his base desires and corrupted the entire force, your Majesty."
"What?!" The King cried out in fake surprise. "What happened?!"
"They have been convicting people of false cris and took advantage of the system I have put in place for their own benefits, your Majesty."
The nobles behind us started to murmur amongst themselves, most of them wondering how sothing like that could happen under the pri minister’s watch.
There was a loud bang as the King punched the platform he was sitting on silencing the nobles, "How dare they! And you weren’t even aware of this?!"
"I was aware, your Majesty. But I needed solid proof or else I would also be guilty of the sa cri that I am accusing them of where I convict them without proper evidence. That’s why I sent soone to investigate them to look for evidence of their corruption."
The King seed to shift slightly, "Which I assu must be this lady here? Miss Aster, I presu?"
Recognising that this was my cue to look up, I lifted my head to face him, finding both the King and Queen looking at with clear interest.
"Yes, your Majesty. I am nad Aster, a rcenary that pri minister Masuyama hired to investigate the police force."
The King scratched his chin with a hand, "Hmmm~ I’m surprised you hired an outsider, Masuyama."
Masuyama bowed, "I had been tipped off that they were targeting visitors who would have no connection with anyone within the city so that it was less suspicious, your Majesty."
"Oh? In that case, your decision makes sense. Tell , Miss Aster... What happened then?"
I was already told what I should say here so I responded imdiately, "I posed as a tourist and joined a tour of the upper district which got their attention and they quickly accused of a cri I did not commit and arrested . I then tried to be as uncooperative as possible which pretty much prompted them to just admit what they were going to do to and call up even more people to reveal what they had done to people like in the past. Then all pri minister Masuyama had to do was appear and catch them all red handed."
The nobles behind started to whisper amongst themselves once again, this ti wondering just how long this incident had been going on and wondering who I really was.
The King grinned at , "How ingenious! Was this plan made by you by any chance?"
I shook my head, "I cannot claim all the credit. It was decided to go with this plan after discussing with my client, pri minister Masuyama."
"Ha ha! As expected of you, Masuyama! Your plans always surprises ! So how are you dealing with this group of traitors?!"
"Right now, they are being tortured for information as we speak, your Majesty. I need to know if they were doing this on an even bigger scale and root out any other possible traces of corruption from every group that might have been connected to this."
"And the results?"
"Three other groups have been rooted out in the past two days and I will be making sure to do a complete restructure of every single one of these groups to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I also intend to set up a new group that will oversee all of them who will directly report to to ensure this doesn’t happen again."
Oh, that explains why they needed all those days to prepare...
Also, I’m not too sure about his solution since that group might be susceptible to corruption themselves... Although I guess if it’s a short term solution, it might work for now but he’ll have to co up with sothing more effective in the long run.
The King nodded, "Very well then. I suppose since this issue is already being handled, there is no need for further deliberation then. You have always been working hard for this country, Masuyama. I will never forget that! Now, Miss Aster... I suppose I should reward you for aiding us in this matter as well. For that, I shall grant you the honour of marrying the prince!"
...
