What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy? Chapter 942: Bandits Vs Mercenaries
"Bandits! Bandit ambush!!" Soone shouted.
"Fuck! My sword’s in my tent!"
"Healer! I need a healer!"
"Assemble on !! Form a defensiv-- Arrrrgghhh!! My arm!!"
"Get to cover! Hurry! Mages! Slow them down!"
"Mistress!"
I felt Katsuki pull on my arm, just in ti to get out of the path of an arrow that was shot at .
For now, I stuffed the wrapper containing the toasted bread in between my chest while Katsuki led to take cover using the stall as a shield.
"By the Gods! Pull yourself together! Don’t you die on , you hear?!" The other Rejmar cried, shaking his friend that had been shot by the arrow.
The swordsman and swordswoman had already run off to get their weapons that they kept in their tent while the mage had gone off to join the fight.
The stall owner had also went to hide himself behind so boxes, though it wasn’t to just cower in fear as he had a crossbow out and was already shooting it at the bandits still charging towards the clearing.
"Ugggghhhh… Sto… Stop shakin’ ya’ shit… I’m not dead yet…" The injured Rejmar groaned.
He reached up to his shirt and opened it, revealing that he was wearing chainmail underneath his shirt.
He reached up and yanked the arrow out, showing that there was no blood on the tip, though I’m pretty sure that at least gave him a bruise.
As though to confirm my suspicions, he pressed his free hand over his chest and let out a pained groan, "Owww… Who is da’ basstard dat’ shot ?! I’m gunna gut ’em like a fish!"
"I can heal you if you want?" I offered.
The Rejmar turned to to flash a grin, "Ya’ can? Dat’ be mighty kind of ye’!"
His friend however, wasn’t as enthusiastic about the idea, "Umm… How much would we owe you?"
I tilted my head, "I’m doing it for free of course. How could I be asking for money under these circumstances?"
"Ah… Please forgive . In that case, please allow to express my utmost gratitude for your help."
Not sure why they need to be this formal but ok?
I hovered my palm over his chest and chanted a quick [Heal] spell, the magic taking effect almost imdiately.
"Ah, dat’s so mighty fine healing, lady. Thank’ee very much."
"Ok, now we still have a bandit problem to take care of don’t we?" His friend reminded, pulling him back up on his feet.
Without hesitation, those two Rejmars ran out from the stall and joined the battle that was taking place at the edge of the clearing.
I peeked around the stall to check what was happening at the mont and I supposed it was as expected of veteran rcenaries hired to escort these caravans on this supposedly dangerous route.
Despite the initial surprise and the unexpected attack, pretty much all of them had already rallied together to form a defensive line against the bandits. Explore hidden tales at Freewebnovel
While most of the sword wielding mbers had to rush off to retrieve their weapons, the archers had fired a volley to slow down their advance. That bought enough ti for the mages to chant their spells and fire them at the bandits.
Walls of fire, earth and ice sprouted out from the ground to block their paths and the arrows, giving us a needed mont’s of reprieve to form up.
But it seems like the bandits have brought mages of their own as streaks of fire and lightning struck at the walls and blasted them apart, opening the way for the other bandits to continue their charge.
There were still a few rcenaries that were holding polearms and shields standing at the front so it wasn’t like we were completely defenseless without the wall.
But the number of rcenaries we have forming the shield wall was definitely fewer than the number of bandits charging at them.
"We should help, right?" I asked.
"If Mistress would like to. But I do not think it is necessary," Katsuki answered without hesitation.
I blinked at her, "Eh? Don’t need to? Why not?"
Right as that question left my lips, another warcry ca from within the camp itself and I turned to see the newly equipped swordsn and won charging into the frontlines.
I could see that so of them didn’t even bother equipping their swords properly and rely just took the blade without the sheathe with them into the fight.
The good thing was that since they ca from another direction, they were charging towards the bandit mob from the side instead of the front, causing them to be attacked from two different directions.
A number of the bandits that were charging at the front hesitated, clearly unsure of whether they should turn to et the charge or continue their attack on our weaker front line.
That hesitation cost them dearly as a volley of arrows from our side ca down on them, striking a number of them fatally.
As if that wasn’t enough, our mages also lobbed several spells over at them, blasting even more of the bandits apart.
We weren’t completely safe either as the bandits were also shooting arrows and throwing spells from within the trees at us, though it was clear we had the nurical advantage in these two departnts.
Our mages had to put up a shield to protect the backline from the bombardnt from within the trees, unable to return fire as their attackers were hidden in the darkness of the forest.
But fortunately for us, the sight of the charging swordsn and won plus the hail of arrows and magic made a number of them lose their nerves and broke away from the charge to run back into the trees.
However, there were still a few die-hards that insisted on standing their ground despite the odds, all of them letting out a warcry right before more arrows and spells blasted them away.
I watched in fascination as our frontline smashed into them, dissolving the charge into a chaotic lee.
Their front crumpled like paper as steel crashed against steel and sliced through flesh.
"[Twin Strike]!"
"[Linear Cut]!"
"[Phantom Slash]!"
"[Tremble Before Blast]!"
"[Soaring Slash]!"
You know… At first I thought it was going to look like those diaeval battles where you have the swords clashing against each other and the fighters will struggle with their sword skills to gain advantage over each other.
I forgot that this wasn’t that type of World so I got to see flashes of light all around the lee and the land around that battle zone being reshaped.
Heck, so of the skills even reached the trees and cut them down, revealing the bandit archers and mages that were hiding behind them.
And it wasn’t just simply cutting the trees down either but also blasting the fallen trees away.
Seriously, what kind of silly is that?!
Now that the bandits’ backline was exposed, our archers and mages imdiately switched their targets to them, firing a hail of arrows and magic at the bandit backline.
Their morale easily broke and they abandoned their comrades that were still locked in lee, opting to run back into the forest instead.
But just as I thought they would be able to run away, there was a whistle coming from behind and I turned to look at the source of the noise.
Turns out, both Unerolia and our escorts had mounted up on their horses and were charging directly towards the fleeing bandits.
With the trees being cut down, there was still a short distance for those fleeing bandits to cover before they can get to the safety of the trees.
The riders seed to know that as well as they did not choose to run them over from behind but went the flanking route and charged at them from the side.
From there, they split into two groups, Unerolia’s riders charged directly at the fleeing bandits while our riders moved to cut off their path of escape.
Screams rang out from those bandits as they desperately tried to shoot at the riders charging straight for them, their lances already lowered in preparation of skewering those fleeing bandits.
There must be several mages within their ranks because the spells and arrows were blocked by a shield of light that was projected in front of the riders.
All they could do was watch before the riders crashed into them, the screams turning into gurgled grunts as the riders skewered them on their lances and their horses trampled on them.
So of them were still lucky and managed to get out of it relatively unscathed but that was accounted for as our riders, who had already arranged themselves into a wedge formation standing at the edge of the trees, started their own charge.
The fleeing group was quickly decimated and our riders didn’t even stop but continued past them to smash into the back of the remaining archers and mages, completely destroying their formation.
At this stage, I’d say the battle was already concluded and I see why Katsuki said we don’t need to help now.
Not gonna lie, that was pretty cool.
