Seeing the mysterious figure bridging the distance between them in one step, and the stele about to smash down on the helpless Bu'Er, Li Xiu gritted his teeth. This power was almost endless, yet it wasn't at all turbulent. It was like a quiet void, seemingly capable of encompassing everything.
"Bu'Er, what are you doing?" Li Xiu didn't understand why Bu'Er was suddenly infusing her light energy into his body.
"Uncle... living is really too hard... I'm soone who was never ant to live... If I'm alive, I only bring too much misfortune to this world. Maybe only in my death can everyone find happiness..." Bu'Er murmured.
"What foolishness are you talking about? No one gains happiness from another's death. Only by living can you create happiness for others..." Li Xiu found himself bereft of strength, realizing Bu'Er's body was vanishing.
As Bu'Er's light energy flooded into Li Xiu's body, her body, once indistinguishable from a real person's, gradually beca ghostly and ethereal.
"Uncle, you're right. Only living can create happiness for others. But I was never a living person; I'm just soone else's fantasy. How could soone who's never really lived create happiness for others?" Bu'Er's voice trembled, as if she was holding back tears.
Li Xiu's body shook as he listened to Bu'Er's words, suddenly understanding everything.
Originally, Li Xiu thought that the City of Love and little Bu'Er were created from Bu'Er's imagination, but now he understood that this wasn't the case at all.
Bu'Er, too, was a fantasy construct, a part of the City of Love, though sohow brought out by soone else from the City of Love.
"So... the little Bu'Er from Black Death City is the real little Bu'Er... Only this can explain why the City of Love exists, and why Bu'Er exists... But if the little Bu'Er from Black Death City died, and then soone reached the City of Love and took Bu'Er out, why does the City of Love still have a little Bu'Er, and why does the little Bu'Er from the City of Love affect the dead little Bu'Er's spirit in Black Death City?"
Li Xiu imdiately realized that there was one possibility which could explain everything.
If the little Bu'Er from Black Death City never experienced the slaughter of the City of Love, she actually wasn't dead, but because soone entered the City of Love—much like how Li Xiu entered Happiness Holand—and killed the little Bu'Er from the City of Love, it in turn affected the death of the little Bu'Er in Black Death City, then everything made sense.
It was like soone went back in ti to change history, causing the living to die. The spirit of the little Bu'Er from Black Death City should be that kind of existence.
Whether Happiness Holand could be considered as returning to the past was sothing even Li Xiu found hard to determine, even though the sister from there was fake. However, the barbeque and such had real energy, which Li Xiu couldn't quite fathom.
Now, Li Xiu could only speculate that soone entered an earlier Black Death City, which was the City of Love, took a little Bu'Er away—specifically the Bu'Er from Celestial Sea Palace—and killed another little Bu'Er. This turned the City of Love into Black Death City. As for why they took away one little Bu'Er, Li Xiu had a rough idea of why, but he couldn't understand why another little Bu'Er had to be killed.
"As long as you believe you're alive, then you're truly alive." Li Xiu said firmly, "Bu'Er, listen to , don't do anything foolish."
Bu'Er's body trembled, but a small smile appeared on her tear-streaked face. "Uncle, you're right. Just believing I'm alive ans I'm truly alive. But Uncle, my life is so tiring, I don't want to go on anymore. Uncle, please bear a little more, let walk no further..."
Li Xiu sensed sothing was wrong. Ignoring the pressure from the mysterious figure, he forcefully turned to look at Bu'Er behind him, only to see her smiling face instantly shattered, transforming into countless shimring gemstone specks that surged into Li Xiu's body.
