The magic spirit tethered by the Jade Linked Rings turned out to be a giant white dog.
This dog’s physique was larger than a human’s, covered in thick white curly fur. Even more bizarre, it wasn’t squatting or lying on all fours, but was sitting with its hind legs crossed, front paws as if forming a spell, looking more like a ditating monk than a dog, which was extrely peculiar.
At this mont, the white-haired dog was staring intently at Li Xiu, its eyes as dark as ink, fixed on him.
Li Xiu moved a bit to the left, and the dog’s gaze shifted left as well; Li Xiu moved a bit to the right, and the dog’s gaze followed to the right.
"So the magic spirit is bound and can’t move, that makes things easier," Li Xiu realized, noting that while the dog was watching him, it showed no intention of pouncing, presumably because the Jade Linked Rings were still restraining it.
"What are you staring at?" the dog suddenly spoke, startling Li Xiu slightly.
"How would I know I’m looking at you if you weren’t looking at ?" Li Xiu said to the dog.
"Looking at you is doing you a favor; you looking at is asking for death," the dog said arrogantly.
"You’re a prisoner here, where does your big attitude co from?" Li Xiu laughed.
"Even imprisoned, killing you would be but a mont’s thought," the dog said.
"Those words sound familiar. There was once soone called the Unparalleled King who told the sa thing, and now it obediently listens to my commands," Li Xiu said with a squinting smile.
"Unparalleled King? Which Unparalleled King?" the dog asked in a slightly surprised and peculiar tone.
Seeing a spark of hope, Li Xiu feigned disdain and said, "That self-proclaid supre...whatever Unparalleled King...just like you."
"Nonsense, don’t compare with that idiot," the dog said, scrutinizing Li Xiu with disbelief, "Although that idiot lacks brains, killing a tiny carbon-based being like you is effortless. Are you spouting nonsense and thinking I won’t dare to kill you?"
Li Xiu observed and knew the dog had so fear of the Unparalleled King, so he laughed, "No matter how powerful it is, it still has to obey my commands and dare not show the slightest disrespect."
"Impossible, with your little ability, you are not even close to those outside; how could you have the authority to command the Unparalleled King?" the dog refused to believe Li Xiu’s bluff.
"What skills I have don’t matter; what matters is it insists on obeying , what can I do?" Li Xiu glanced at the dog and asked, "And who might you be?"
"I am the Great Celestial King, ever heard of from the Unparalleled King?" the dog asked.
"Your nas are impressive, but I haven’t seen any real skills," Li Xiu laughed.
"No skills? If it wasn’t for you knowing the na of the Unparalleled King, you would already be dead. Tell , how do you know the Unparalleled King, and if I detect any lies, I’ll swallow you alive," the Great Celestial King snorted.
"Are you all brothers? You even talk alike. That Unparalleled King had a similar tone, but after seeing a dallion on , it got scared and insisted on becoming sworn brothers," Li Xiu blurted with nonsense.
"dallion? What dallion?" the Great Celestial King suspiciously asked.
"Nothing much, just a dallion I picked up by chance, with the Godslayer Shrine written on it," Li Xiu said looking at the Great Celestial King.
"Godslayer Shrine...where did you find it...let see..." the Great Celestial King suddenly leaped up, standing on all fours like a real dog, with wide eyes fixed on Li Xiu.
"Just lying around at ho, why would I carry it with , it’s quite inauspicious," Li Xiu laughed.
The Great Celestial King’s eyes rolled, and after a mont it cracked a smile at Li Xiu, "Since you’re a brother of the Unparalleled King, that makes us friends too. Could you take to your ho to see that dallion?"
"It’s just a lousy dallion. If you want it, take it. I thought it was sothing good, but when I gave it to the Unparalleled King, it refused to accept it," Li Xiu said.
"Heh, it wouldn’t dare take it...ahem...how should I address you, brother?" The Great Celestial King asked with a full smile.
"Li Xiu," Li Xiu continued, "I’d be willing to take you, but as you see, there are enemies blocking outside, and I can’t go back right now."
"That’s no problem. Once I’m free, I’ll swallow your enemy whole; they’re nothing," the Great Celestial King arrogantly said.
"Sounds great, when can you be freed?" Li Xiu asked.
"That’s simple too. I see you have sothing that can break jade. Use it to smash this Jade Linked Ring, and I can break free to help you defeat your enemies," the Great Celestial King said.
"That sounds like a good idea," Li Xiu said, moving a couple of steps toward the Great Celestial King as if to free it, but then stopped, standing there with furrowed brows, looking at the Great Celestial King without speaking.
"Brother, what’s wrong? Is there any concern? Don’t worry, once I’m free, I’ll swallow your enemy as easily as a snack," the Great Celestial King hurriedly said.
"I’m not worried about that; I just fear that if I free you now, and you decide to turn your back on , what should I do? I don’t have the dallion with ; I can’t fight you," Li Xiu pretended to struggle.
