Li Xiu was a bit hesitant. Though the Evil Luo King's thod seed quite unreliable, there was still so room for maneuver.
The hesitation wasn't about whether the thod was feasible but rather the consequences of using this thod and the purpose of the Yellow Springs Worm.
Why did the Yellow Springs Worm keep pursuing him? Li Xiu suspected it might be linked to the demon spirit larva inside him, but the larva had shown no reaction so far.
Was it that the demon spirit larva simply didn't care about the Yellow Springs Worm, or was the worm completely unrelated to the larva? Li Xiu couldn't be sure.
"The place where the demon spirit larva was first discovered was near the Sea Heaven Trial Gate. There's a high possibility its parents originated from the Sea Heaven Trial Gate, theoretically having a higher likelihood of ties to the Celestial Sea. After much thought, Li Xiu decided it was best to give it a try. Luckily, having Old Jia's experience as a reference helped, Li Xiu knew that short-term contact with the Yellow Springs Worm wouldn't cause imdiate problems, as long as he could promptly and firmly remove the skin that ca into contact to prevent the cold force from spreading.
Although he could also find soone else to test it out for him, Li Xiu had other ideas and decided not to do so.
With his mind made up, Li Xiu no longer hesitated. He summoned the Forbidden Spear and ford the Flower Armor, the Red-Blue Dual Cast Spirit simultaneously taking possession. Then he squatted down and reached out a finger, touching the approaching Yellow Springs Worm.
Protected by the Forbidden Flower Armor, along with the Red-Blue Dual Cast Spirit on him, if anything went wrong, Li Xiu wasn't aiming for success, just no regrets. He would imdiately sever the contact point with the Yellow Springs Worm.
Li Xiu's fingertip touched the Yellow Springs Worm, feeling like he was touching jelly, the springy texture was rather pleasant.
The cold aura from the Yellow Springs Worm was indeed strong, or rather it wasn't cold like usual, but rather a sort of sinister chill, not a simple cold.
Strangely, Li Xiu didn't feel any damage to the Flower Armor, nor did he sense any invasion of cold aura.
What surprised Li Xiu even more was that when his finger touched the Yellow Springs Worm, it actually stopped, just like a little dog being petted on the head, rubbing Li Xiu's fingertip with its body, seeming quite pleased.
"Why is it acting like this?" the Evil Luo King exclaid in surprise.
Even though he had only heard about the terror of the Yellow Springs Worm, it was certainly not exaggerated to the extent of behaving like this, like a lapdog.
Li Xiu himself was sowhat unexpected, increasingly suspecting that the Yellow Springs Worm's behavior might be linked to the demon spirit larva.
As Li Xiu was contemplating, the Yellow Springs Worm moved again, but this ti, instead of climbing onto Li Xiu's body, it circled around him.
Li Xiu watched, puzzled. Previously, the places the Yellow Springs Worm crawled over left behind so frost, and it was no different this ti, except the frost was distinct.
The Yellow Springs Worm's body was transparent like crystal, openly visible without any blood or bone inside. Yet, this ti, it left behind a frost the color of fresh blood where it crawled.
The blood frost drew a circle around Li Xiu, and with every short distance it covered, its body shrank a bit smaller, until when it completed the circle, it had shrunk to less than half its original size.
"What is this? Could it be so kind of imprisoning skill?" Li Xiu pondered, remaining still.
After drawing a complete blood circle, the Yellow Springs Worm stopped in front of Li Xiu, its large silkworm-like body standing upright, twisting in a peculiar manner.
"Old Luo, what's going on here?" Li Xiu asked the Evil Luo King.
The Evil Luo King was clearly also at a loss, responding with so suspicion, "From its appearance, it doesn't seem to be using a skill. Instead, that blood frost seems to be its own energy essence. It looks like so kind of sacrificial ritual."
"Sacrificial ritual? I'm not its parent, why would it be worshiping ?" Li Xiu watched as the Yellow Springs Worm repeatedly lowered and raised its body, performing these actions several tis, really resembling a worshiping ritual.
"How would I know? I've never seen a Yellow Springs Worm before, all I know is just hearsay," the Evil Luo King muttered before adding, "I'm beginning to suspect now that the stories I've heard might not be entirely accurate. Maybe this Yellow Springs Worm isn't a fragnt of the Unparalleled Demon Spirit, otherwise, for such a proud existence, how could it let its fragnt do such a thing."
"That was as good as saying nothing," Li Xiu frowned.
While they were talking, it seed the Yellow Springs Worm had finished its ritual, its body ceasing those strange motions.
Li Xiu kept a wary eye on the Yellow Springs Worm, trying to see what it would do next when he suddenly noticed a speck of red light within the worm's body.
At the mont the red light appeared, the blood circle it had drawn before also illuminated simultaneously, surrounding Li Xiu with a blood-red glow.
The Yellow Springs Worm's body rapidly shrank, disappearing in the blink of an eye, seemingly rging into the scarlet halo.
Simultaneously with the disappearance of the Yellow Springs Worm, the scarlet halo rose from the ground, moving with incredible speed.
Li Xiu instantly unleashed all his light energy, leaping into the air like a flash of lightning.
