When Sheng Jianan woke up, it was already close to noon. After washing up, he went downstairs. Through the glass wall, he saw a graceful figure in the distance on the beach. His lips curved into a smile, and just as he was about to push the door and go out, Tang Yanqi’s phone on the coffee table buzzed.
Instinctively turning his head to glance at it, Sheng Jianan’s brows imdiately furrowed. It was a ssage from Lu Qilin, three in a row. Sheng Jianan didn’t open them, but he could tell from the screen.
The ssages were sent around midnight last night. One wished her a happy birthday, another explained that he was out of town and couldn’t be with her on her birthday, and the last one ntioned that he had sent her birthday gift to her dorm and hoped she would like it.
Young Master Sheng raised an eyebrow. Too late, no one could outdo his gift.
Ignoring the ssages he had just seen, Sheng Jianan stepped outside. The tide had receded slightly, leaving the sand wet with a series of footprints on it. From afar, Sheng Jianan could see Tang Yanqi walking barefoot on the beach.
The slender silhouette, fair calves, and the girl in the sunlight appeared especially charming.
Sheng Jianan’s eyes twinkled with a slight curve. On a whim, he took off his shoes and followed her footprints, quickly catching up with her in just a few steps.
Hearing so movent behind her, Tang Yanqi turned her head. Sheng Jianan had already reached her. His sudden appearance startled her, causing her to instinctively step back and almost fall. Hastily, she took another step back to steady herself.
She stepped on sothing unknown, sending a wave of sharp pain. Tang Yanqi instinctively frowned, looked down, and lifted her foot to check. There was a small cut on the fair sole of her foot from a piece of glass, not deep, but faintly bleeding.
To Tang Yanqi, it wasn’t a major injury, so she wasn’t concerned. She only glanced at it and was about to put her foot down.
Sheng Jianan suddenly reached out to stop her, and then in one swift motion, he scooped her up in his arms horizontally.
"Sheng..."
Sheng Jianan’s expression turned slightly sour. He had just wanted to sneak up behind her and give her a playful scare, but her foot got cut instead. This area was his territory, and to have glass shards appear on his private beach, injuring his woman, was like a slap to Sheng Jianan’s face.
Tang Yanqi originally wanted to say sothing, but seeing his obviously displeased face, she pursed her lips and remained silent.
Sheng Jianan carried Tang Yanqi all the way back to the villa, not even bothering to put on his shoes. He placed her on the sofa, where a servant was already cleaning up the ss from yesterday.
Sheng Jianan asked soone to bring a basin of warm water, cleaned Tang Yanqi’s foot, and then prepared to disinfect it with alcohol.
"It will hurt. If you can’t bear it, pinch ."
Tang Yanqi was sowhat speechless. It was really just a minor cut, not needing disinfection, let alone pinching him from the pain. She curled her lips and softly said, "It’s fine, I’m not that delicate."
Sheng Jianan had already lowered his head and was applying alcohol. As Tang Yanqi anticipated, the wound was shallow, and the bleeding had stopped. The alcohol only caused a slight sting, which was entirely manageable for her.
After disinfecting it, Sheng Jianan applied so ointnt on her foot and leisurely said, "You can be delicate."
"Hmm? Why?"
"Because I’ll pamper you. If you don’t act spoiled, it’s a waste not to."
Tang Yanqi: "..."
While his words sounded strange, she couldn’t help but feel a smile tugging at her heart.
