Sheng Jianan led her inside, and just as they reached the doorway, they saw Shen Yao coming out. Tang Yanqi was slightly startled; she hadn’t expected Shen Yao to be here.
Opposite her, the person was quite poised, nodding slightly in greeting.
Tang Yanqi sighed inwardly. After their unpleasant conversation, Shen Yao could still act as if nothing happened and greet her. Should she admire her ntal resilience? Or her acting skills?
However, Tang Yanqi was not one to be underestimated either. After so many years in the Tang Family, she was well-practiced in maintaining her composure.
If the other acted as if nothing was wrong, she naturally wouldn’t back down either, smiling and nodding in return.
Inside the house, before they even turned the corner of the entrance, Tang Yanqi heard Mr. Sheng’s laughter, mixed with a couple of coughs.
Tang Yanqi turned and saw the old man’s weathered face brimming with smiles, though it couldn’t fully mask his illness.
The pain caused by cancer was becoming increasingly evident on this old man, but seeing her, Mr. Sheng beca even happier, waving her over eagerly.
"Co, Yanqi, co over here."
Tang Yanqi obediently walked over and politely called out, "Grandpa."
Mr. Sheng pulled Tang Yanqi to sit down and smilingly introduced her to the equally dazzling man in the living room, no less striking than Sheng Jianan: "Ji Yan, let introduce you to my grandson’s wife, Tang Yanqi."
Afterwards, he looked at Tang Yanqi and said, "Yanqi, this is Uncle Shen’s son you t before, Yaoyao’s cousin, Shen Jiyan."
Tang Yanqi gracefully smiled, "Mr. Shen, pleased to et you."
Shen Jiyan also wore a smile on his face, "Miss Tang, I’ve heard a lot about you."
Tang Yanqi had heard so things about Mr. Shen before.
But she had never been the type to gossip, so she didn’t pay much attention. Now, seeing him in person, Tang Yanqi had an instinctive feeling that this person was in the sa league as Sheng Jianan.
They were both the types who stood at the pinnacle of the pyramid.
Perhaps he had foreign lineage, Shen Jiyan’s features were even more profound than Sheng Jianan’s. His eyes were beautiful yet intimidating, as if possessing the power to see directly into other people’s inner worlds.
The fundantal difference between him and Sheng Jianan was that Sheng Jianan always had a few wild streaks in his expression, giving one the impression of youthful recklessness, arrogance, an immature lack of stability.
But Shen Jiyan would never give people that feeling. On the contrary, his first impression was that of steadiness and maturity, even to the point of being overly so, exerting an invisible pressure.
It was best to keep a respectful distance from such a person else you might end up being used and even help count the money you were sold for.
As Tang Yanqi was imrsed in her logical deductions and thoughts, she suddenly felt a light pinch on her waist. Turning her head, she t a face that clearly said, "Young Master is not happy."
Sheng Jianan leaned in, his chin resting on Tang Yanqi’s shoulder, speaking in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Tang Yanqi, do you seriously think I’m dead?"
Young Master is still sitting right here, yet you dare to blatantly ogle another man?
Sheng Jianan didn’t say the latter part out loud, but Miss Tang clearly got the hint, reaching out to pinch Sheng Jianan’s hand.
She murmured, "There are so many n, I want to look at all of them."
Her waist was pinched again, this ti with much more force than before; it wasn’t painful but ticklish, causing waves of tingling sensations to make her feel quite uncomfortable.
