"Stop with the nonsense, speak."
"OK, the first ti I saw her was at the foot of the cetery hill, on the day of the old man’s funeral. She had a car accident."
She had a car accident.
Shen Jiyan said these five words lightly, but Sheng Jianan’s eyes narrowed while hearing them—car accident?
How could he not have found out about such a serious matter?
"I rescued her and later called you, but you didn’t answer. Her injuries weren’t severe and when she woke up, she asked not to contact you, not to contact the Sheng Family, and above all, not to ntion her car accident to anyone."
Sheng Jianan vaguely rembered—yes, when he checked his phone, Shen Jiyan did indeed call him, but it went unanswered.
At the ti, there were too many missed calls in his phone, and he didn’t bother with any of them.
But this is different, she was his woman. How could he only make one phone call about such a significant event?
Sheng Jianan suddenly lunged forward to stand in front of Shen Jiyan, grabbing his collar without a word, nearly landing a punch.

"So you did as she asked?"
Sheng Jianan’s anger seed to rise another notch.
What does "make sure that the car accident would never cross your path" an?
Did that woman’s brain get damaged, or Shen Jiyan’s?
Shen Jiyan chuckled: "I respected her wishes, but..."
"But what?"
"But by the ti I sent people to deal with the matter, it seed it was already resolved. Not just resolved, I couldn’t even investigate it."
Sheng Jianan’s grip loosened slightly, Shen Jiyan’s words seed casual, but the implication was significant. He took out a cigarette from his pocket, smoking under the streetlight.
Why couldn’t it be investigated?
Because soone deliberately covered it up, destroyed the evidence—why go to such lengths?
Clearly, it wasn’t just an ordinary car accident.
Sheng Jianan took a couple of hard drags, feeling the smoke painfully swell in his chest, before throwing the cigarette to the ground and stomped on it, unconcerned about the pollution.
Just as Sheng Jianan was about to get into the car, Shen Jiyan quickly grabbed him: "If you confront her about this, she’ll only push you away."
Strangely, Sheng Jianan cald down because of Shen Jiyan’s action—yes, now wasn’t the ti to bring this up. He didn’t even know why she got into a car accident, what right did he have to appear before her?
Hand relaxing off the car door’s handle, Shen Jiyan shrugged and spoke: "Alright, now onto my matter."
He took out his phone and showed Sheng Jianan a photo: "Help find her."
Sheng Jianan glanced at it, then looked at Shen Jiyan—the two n who had just been in a heated confrontation suddenly laughed in unison.
They were indeed similar; all their irrational behavior was because of that person in their hearts.
To outsiders, they might seem unreachable, able to have anyone they desired, but ultimately, they both yearned for just one person.
