The next second, Sheng Jianan had already grabbed the car keys on the table and was heading out. Those insignificant details that he had once ignored now resurfaced in his mind. Why hadn’t she shown up since grandpa passed away? Even if she felt guilty, she wouldn’t have stayed away for so long; that wasn’t like her.
Wait a minute, that’s not right!
She did show up, although only for a brief mont, but Sheng Jianan rembers clearly. It was during grandpa’s cremation, and it was the only ti he cried out loud in her arms.
But why hadn’t she said a word, and when he ca to his senses, she had disappeared.
So, at that ti, it wasn’t just him who was sad.
Sheng Jianan went down from the top floor to the parking lot and called Tang Yanqi, but no one answered. Sheng Jiayu said she saw her when Tang Yanqi had already left the cetery. Now, where would she go?
Back to the apartnt? Or to find her friends?
Sheng Jianan called twice more, still no answer, so he simply started the car and headed to the apartnt.
All the way, Sheng Jianan’s mind was filled with what he had just heard from Sheng Jiayu and his own speculations. He was so distracted that he didn’t even notice the traffic light changed and accelerated through it.
A car ca from the perpendicular direction, but fortunately, the person reacted quickly and turned the wheel just in ti, avoiding a direct collision between the two cars, resulting only in a scrape.
The person from the other car got out, and Sheng Jianan imdiately cald down. Damn it, how long has it been since he was this careless?
The traffic police officer walked over and knocked on his window, "Sir, please step out of the vehicle."
Sheng Jianan opened the door and paused when he saw who was in the other car. The person across from him was also montarily stunned.
Sheng Jianan didn’t reveal his identity, nor did he have soone handle the situation. The traffic officer followed the procedure, taking photos, asking questions, and issuing a ticket. Seeing that neither party was going to argue, the officer breathed a sigh of relief, quickly resolving the issue so traffic could resu promptly.
Lu Qilin and Sheng Jianan silently stared at each other for a few seconds before Lu Qilin finally spoke, "Mr. Sheng, what a coincidence."
There was no pleasant expression on Sheng Jianan’s face. Could he have a pleasant expression?
If it weren’t for him, would he have gone to the United States on a business trip in a huff? Would he have missed seeing grandpa for the last ti?
Though it couldn’t all be blad on him, Young Master Sheng still felt displeased. With a cold snort, he saw that the officer had finished handling the situation, and spoke sarcastically, "I’ll have soone take care of the follow-up."
With that, he didn’t spare Lu Qilin another glance, got into his car, and prepared to leave.
Started the car once, twice... couldn’t get it to start!
Sheng Jianan frowned, got out again to check it out, seed like sothing was wrong.
"Sir, is there still a problem?"
Making a fool of himself in front of his rival, this was a first for Sheng Jianan, his face growing darker, emitting a chilling aura even in the bright afternoon sunlight.
Lu Qilin seed to sense sothing, having almost gotten back into his car, he returned.
Sheng Jianan called soone to co handle it and walked off to the side, Lu Qilin called after him, "Mr. Sheng."
Sheng Jianan stopped, and Lu Qilin ca over, said sothing in his ear, causing Sheng Jianan’s brows to knit tightly, his thin lips pressing slightly together. He turned and got into Lu Qilin’s car.
The traffic jam at the intersection cleared up soon, and Lu Qilin and Sheng Jianan parked not far away in front of a cafe directly across the street.
