Tang Yanqi nodded to Mrs. Zhang: "Hmm, let’s eat."
"Yes, I’ll go prepare it now."
Su Weiyi was painting upstairs, and when she saw Tang Yanqi co in, she quickly held up a piece of paper and bounced in front of Tang Yanqi: "Mom, the teacher praised today."
Tang Yanqi looked at the little girl’s painting, which was of the Eiffel Tower, quite naïve in strokes, but already very good for a child.
Tang Yanqi smiled and patted her hair. Su Weiyi’s gaze then fell on Tang Yanqi’s belly: "Mom, Dad said there’s a little brother here. Why can’t Xiao Yi see him?"
"Wait a little longer, and Xiao Yi will be able to see him."
The little girl nodded, half-understanding, and Tang Yanqi led her down to eat.
After dinner, they took a walk in the yard for a while, then Tang Yanqi coaxed Su Weiyi to sleep and returned to her room to rest, but Sheng Jianan hadn’t co back.
Tang Yanqi didn’t rember when she fell asleep; when she woke up in the morning, the bed beside her was still empty, neat and tidy, without any sign of soone having been there.
So did Sheng Jianan not co back all night?
She took her phone but there were no ssages. Tang Yanqi lowered her eyelids and got up to freshen up.
The weather outside was terrible today; you could feel the muggy heat inside the house, the sky was grey, with no trace of blue, resembling Sheng Jianan’s manner yesterday.
"Young Madam, make sure to take a coat with you today. I think this weather is going to rain, and it won’t be a small one."
Tang Yanqi nodded and before stepping out, she looked back at Mrs. Zhang: "If Jianan returns, please send a ssage."
Mrs. Zhang nodded and then rembered sothing: "Young Madam, are you and Young Master having a spat?"
Tang Yanqi didn’t answer, just smiled and said: "I’m heading out."
Today was Friday, and everyone in the office seed particularly energetic. The morning was busy; although many colleagues shared Tang Yanqi’s workload, she, being pregnant, couldn’t keep up physically and felt a bit tired by noon.
While others spent their first three months dealing with various morning sickness, Tang Yanqi was fine, apart from not being able to keep up physically, often feeling fatigued.
In the afternoon, things started to slow down. Near closing ti, several people in the office held cups of coffee, leaning against tables and chatting.
"Jana, did you get a new bag again?"
People here have high salaries, but they’re not quite rich, so occasionally buying a luxury bag for tens of thousands often becos a topic of gossip.
The person called "Jana," in her thirties, with sharp features but a friendly deanor, had strong translation and business skills, showing a little bit of a powerful woman vibe.
At this mont, the powerful woman blushed slightly: "My guy bought it."
"Oh... what a display of affection, perfect score! People say, after all, a man who doesn’t buy bags for his wife isn’t a good man."
There was no malice, just casual teasing. Jana blushed and quickly explained: "Didn’t we have a little spat recently, neither of us would back down, but I realized it was my fault, so I bought him a tie to apologize. Then yesterday he brought back a bag."
"Oh, what a show of affection, I won’t need dinner tonight."
A young intern girl suddenly spoke: "Why did Jana have to apologize? Isn’t it the man’s job to comfort his lover?"
