After rummaging through the files, Tang Yanqi reached out to take the book. It was in a transparent box with a lock, the title clearly visible inside.
Tang Yanqi felt a tightness in her heart, looked at the small lock, and began searching the set of keys she had just brought for the matching one.
She found it and unlocked the box. The book was sowhat old, with worn corners, as if it had been read many tis.
She took it out and opened to the first page. It was written in standard, beautiful calligraphy, with words she knew well.
Isn’t this... isn’t this the book she left for Sheng Jianan when she ran away from him all those years ago?
Back then, she hadn’t left a na or any personal details. The day before Sheng Jianan’s surgery, he had once grasped her wrist and asked, "Who exactly are you? What’s your na?"
Tang Yanqi rembered she hadn’t answered then; she just couldn’t help but take out this book from her bag and carefully place it in his room before leaving that day.

Sheng Jiayu had co over at so point, glimpsed the book in Tang Yanqi’s hands, and smiled slightly: "This, this used to be Jianan’s treasure; he wouldn’t let anyone touch it."
"Treasure?"

Sheng Jiayu changed the subject: "It’s all in the past, don’t worry about it. Anyway, now Jianan only has eyes for you. Mrs. Zhang has already prepared the al, let’s go and eat."
Sheng Jiayu pulled the book from Tang Yanqi’s hands, placed it back on the table, and led her downstairs for dinner.
Tang Yanqi was still imrsed in what Sheng Jiayu had just said, feeling sothing indescribable inside her, excitent and unease bubbling forth.
Did she once make such a deep impression on Sheng Jianan?
Could she then infer that he also had feelings for her back then?
Such thoughts wouldn’t have crossed Tang Yanqi’s mind before, but now... Maybe she was spoilt by that man into having self-confidence; this thought lingered in her mind.
Once the excitent had passed, Tang Yanqi felt sothing was amiss.
Since her divorce, Sheng Jiayu had changed entirely. Although she still had the aura of a strong businesswoman, she wasn’t working and planned to take a break. She seed to love children, often visiting Su Weiyi and Little Tangdou, and when Sheng Jianan wasn’t around, she’d simply stay at the villa.
Night fell, and Sheng Jiayu erged from her bath, only to see Tang Yanqi standing in her room, holding a pillow.
"Yanqi?"
Tang Yanqi tossed the pillow onto the bed and smiled, "Mind if I sleep here with you?"
