"I’m not sure if there are many beautiful won."
Sheng Jiayu rolled her eyes. "If you’re not that experienced, then Doctor Mu must be a genius to know what size clothes a woman he’s unfamiliar with would wear."
Normally, such words would never co from Sheng Jiayu’s mouth, but she had been at a disadvantage with this man all the way here, and not countering now would be a waste.
Mu Ke suddenly shifted his gaze, his dark eyes calm and unruffled as he looked at Sheng Jiayu.
He didn’t speak, just quietly stared, and Sheng Jiayu felt uneasy under his gaze, so she simply turned her head to avoid eye contact.
At this mont, she finally heard the man’s cool voice: "Miss Sheng, I am a surgeon, very familiar with human anatomy. Besides, your size was already told to by your mother."
Sheng Jiayu: "..."
"If you ever have any misunderstandings in the future, please co directly to ask . Don’t let your imagination run wild. I’ve only bought clothes for you."
"..."
For so reason, even though Mu Ke only said one sentence, Sheng Jiayu felt like it contained a lot of information, as if it explained everything.
For instance, how he guessed she misunderstood him because of the clothes, or how he knew what her misunderstanding was...
Sheng Jiayu instinctively wanted to refute but as soon as she saw the man’s eyes, she imdiately chose to keep quiet. This man was a psychologist; otherwise, he’d use his expertise to crush her again.
Sheng Jiayu said no more, quietly watching the shimring surface of the lake.
This wasn’t her first ti by the Rhine River with a man.
She had once co with Xin Ke. At that ti, Xin Ke had received a scholarship from a university here, so after the college entrance exam, he ca here, and she followed him here.
From ho to abroad, from B City to London.
Back then, all of Sheng Jiayu’s heart was set on him alone.
It was here that she finally mustered the courage to confess to him, revealing her deeply hidden crush.
What she received, however, was just Xin Ke’s response: "I’m sorry, I already like soone else."
It was the first defeat in Sheng Jiayu’s life. She forgot how beautiful the scenery was here, forgot how nice the weather was that day.
All she could hear ringing in her ears was Xin Ke’s words "I already like soone else."
Later, because Xin Ke’s grades didn’t et the standard, he lost his scholarship eligibility, decisively giving up his studies here and returning ho.
At the ti, she found it strange. With the Xin Family’s capability, supporting a student in the United Kingdom shouldn’t have been impossible, not to ntion she was there too.
Only when she followed him back ho did she find out that the scholarship was just a pretext; he returned for a girl.
Pulling her thoughts back from the mory, Sheng Jiayu suddenly stood up: "Let’s go. I don’t want to be here anymore."
Mu Ke looked at her aningfully. From her eyes, he saw pain and fear.
But Mu Ke said nothing, continuing to follow behind Sheng Jiayu.
They stayed outside for a long ti before returning to the hotel. Sheng Jiayu hadn’t brought her phone, and she only realized her phone had been blown up with calls once back at the hotel, mostly from Tang Yanqi and Sheng Jianan, and a few from her friends.
Sheng Jiayu replied to them one by one, telling them she was fine, just out for a walk.
Once she finished replying and looked up, she saw Mu Ke standing by the door fra with a glass of milk.
Seeing her put down her phone, Mu Ke stepped in.
