Such words, coming from anyone, might carry a hint of shalessness, but when spoken by the person in front of , they sohow beco irrefutable.
Jiayu stared blankly at Mu Ke, this... this isn’t right.
Mu Ke didn’t continue the topic but looked down at the dical records in his hand. Jiayu sat for a while, then slowly stood up; she needed so quiet.
Just as she stood up and turned around, a voice suddenly ca from behind: "You asked what I like about you? If I said it was love at first sight, would you believe ?"
Jiayu froze, didn’t turn back, and headed straight for the rest room.
Mu Ke watched her back, and his eyes darkened.
The first ti I got to know "Jiayu" was in the first year of high school, when the school Mu Ke attended was sharing a stadium with a nearby private high school due to renovations.
That day, during PE class, Mu Ke, as usual, didn’t join in any group activities and tucked himself into a corner of the playground, engrossed in a book.
Surrounding the sports ground were tiered seats, and unexpectedly, soone appeared in the row in front of him.
That person was wearing a school uniform and sneakers, clearly there for PE class but instead of participating, she was working on a test paper.
Mu Ke didn’t notice at first, only heard the person say in a mont of frustration, "Damn, is the teacher trying to kill with this crazy question?"
It was obviously a very quiet girl, yet the first thing she did was curse, which led Mu Ke to finally glance at her, only to find out she was working on Olympiad math problems.
Mu Ke raised an eyebrow; he was also an Olympiad math candidate, and there weren’t many people walking this path, especially girls, and he unexpectedly encountered one.
Thanks to his 5.2 vision, Mu Ke clearly saw the na on the test paper—Jiayu.
Later, I heard from sowhere that her background was extraordinary, a young lady from a wealthy family, beautiful and gifted in studying, practically a winner at life.
When I t her again, it was still in PE class; Jiayu was, as usual, curled up in a corner working on problems, while Mu Ke was several rows behind her. Both seed out of place on the sports ground, yet there wasn’t a single exchange between them.
But that day, Jiayu didn’t look well; soon she was clutching her stomach and ignoring the paper that fell to the ground.
Mu Ke watched her and suddenly saw her collapse onto the seats. In that instant, Mu Ke tossed his book aside and hurried forward: "Classmate?"
Holding her, he rushed straight to the school infirmary. For a mont, the sunlight shone on the girl’s pale face, her hair beca ssy, yet inexplicably, it sohow pierced right into his heart.
Mu Ke doesn’t deny it; love at first sight is often all about appearances.
If Jiayu weren’t so beautiful, perhaps her figure wouldn’t have haunted him for years.
Returning from his thoughts, Mu Ke reached out to massage his temples.
He was always more mature than his peers; he always knew what he liked and what to do. Mu Ke believed there was nothing he would regret in this world.
But after eting Jiayu, there was.
Two things he regrets to this day.
First, he should have introduced himself that afternoon, saying, "Hello, I’m Mu Ke."
Second, he shouldn’t have let go so easily, letting her pursue love—what a load of crap!
Mu Ke has always thought that if he hadn’t backed down so easily, perhaps she wouldn’t be hurt as she is today.
