Mu Ke stepped forward and raised the bag in his hand: "I ca to deliver dication to Aunt."

Jiayu nodded, turned around, and led Mu Ke inside.
"My mom is already resting, you can give the dicine."
Jiayu poured Mu Ke a glass of water, placed it in front of him, and spoke.
Mu Ke nodded and took out the dicine one by one from the bag: "Bring the dicine Aunt is currently taking; I’ll tell you how to use them."
Jiayu turned to fetch them. It was only when she laid out the bottles one by one did she realize how many pills her mother had to take in a day.
She had never noticed before; she really hadn’t been a dutiful daughter.
"This one replaces these two, this one stops, don’t take it anymore, this one replaces this one..."
As Mu Ke spoke, he took a pen and marked the dosages on the outer packaging.
"These are new dications, but the side effects are smaller and better for Aunt."
Jiayu listened intently, nodded, and smiled at Mu Ke: "Thank you."
Mu Ke was montarily dazzled by her smile, his thin lips pursed slightly, he stood up: "Alright, it’s late; I’ll be heading back."
"I’ll walk you out."
Jiayu escorted Mu Ke to the door, near his car. Mu Ke opened the car door with one graceful and composed motion, stepping one foot inside, and suddenly paused. He turned around to look at Jiayu: "I’ve been attending a conference abroad these past few days and couldn’t use my phone."
Huh?
Jiayu hadn’t reacted in ti; only after Mu Ke’s car had driven far away did she co to, had he just explained himself to her?
Explaining why he hadn’t appeared, explaining why he hadn’t contacted her in this period?
But there’s no need for that.
Why he was away and why he disappeared had nothing to do with her.
Jiayu felt a twinge of discomfort in her heart. In the past, when Xin Ke suddenly disappeared, she had to frantically call everywhere just to find out from his secretary or assistant where he had gone.
The man who owed her an explanation had never said a word, yet the man who didn’t owe her one briefly explained.
Jiayu sneered at herself, how truly ironic.
The next day, Xu Qingru looked at the unfamiliar dicine, puzzled, and asked Jiayu: "These weren’t the ones I used to take."
Jiayu paused and straightforwardly explained: "Last night Xue Li ca to pick up Lu Lu, and Doctor Mu also ca. He brought these, saying they are new dications with fewer side effects."
Xu Qingru smiled gently: "Oh, that’s thoughtful of him."
Jiayu poured warm water for her mom, Xu Qingru slowly swallowed the various dications, then sighed: "Ah, my body, it’s kept alive by dicine."
