Mu Ke’s voice is as cold and irresistible as ever. Sheng Jiayu pursed her lips, then withdrew her hand, allowing the man to feed her water and then feed her porridge.
The morning sunlight shone in from behind Mu Ke, and Sheng Jiayu could see a halo of light around his black hair in the sunlight.
The man’s eyelashes aren’t particularly long, but they’re quite curled, as if they had been clipped, and there’s a seriousness in his eyes.
It seed as if he wasn’t feeding her porridge but performing a major surgery.
Serious n are the most charming, and Sheng Jiayu had to admit that Mu Ke’s masculine charm was overwhelming now, making it impossible not to be captivated by him.
Sheng Jiayu looked away, her gaze falling on the porridge, a vegetable and fish fillet porridge, with the fresh aroma of fish and the delicate sweetness of vegetables. The saltiness was faint but it tasted great, warming her stomach.
Sheng Jiayu is the eldest daughter of the Sheng Family, yet no one has ever fed her porridge like this before.
Perhaps due to following her mother from a young age, although they were never short of money, Sheng Jiayu still saw the unspeakable hardships her mother endured. Later, she started to revolve around Xin Ke, facing even more grievances, but she found them sweet in the end. Now, thinking back, she realizes how foolish she was back then.
After finishing a bowl of porridge, Mu Ke put the bowl down and went to the bathroom. Before long, he returned with a warm towel, gently wiping Sheng Jiayu’s face: "Lie down flat, let’s see if the dizziness is gone."
Sheng Jiayu obediently lay back down; she felt much better compared to when she first got up.
"I’m not dizzy anymore, thank you."
"I’ll co in to give you dicine in half an hour, now lie down and close your eyes to rest."
Mu Ke finished speaking, took the bowl and glass of water out, and indeed returned half an hour later with dicine and warm water.
No one likes injections or dicine, but Sheng Jiayu was fine about it, not overly sensitive, allowing Mu Ke to put the dicine in her mouth, drink so water, swallow, and then be ordered to lie down and rest again.
Whenever she took cold dicine, she felt sleepy soon after, and Sheng Jiayu fell asleep again before long.
While she was asleep, Mu Ke took the opportunity to change the dressing on the wound on her forehead, then quietly closed the door and left.
Walking to the living room and sitting down, his gaze fell on the hand he had just used to feed dicine to Sheng Jiayu.
His palm still felt a little warm, where Sheng Jiayu’s lips had lightly touched.

Sheng Jiayu had almost slept the entire day. Apart from her forehead which still hurt a bit, she felt much more energized.
When she was with Xin Ke in the past, not wanting to affect her because of herself, Sheng Jiayu always worked out, and she had good physical fitness and rarely fell ill. This ti was quite unexpected.
After a day’s rest, she recovered quite a bit and slled the fragrance of food outside; her stomach began to growl after having only eaten a little plain porridge.
Mu Ke placed a bowl of rice in front of her and served a bowl of fish soup: "Drink the soup first."
The warm fish soup felt comforting in her stomach, and Sheng Jiayu lowered her head to eat.
The dining room was very quiet, with only the sound of chopsticks clinking against porcelain bowls.
