Mu Ke went to the kitchen to warm a cup of milk for Jiayu and handed it to her. Jiayu had already cald down, reached out to take it, and took a small sip. The milk was rich and fragrant, warm, just right.
"It’s getting late, get a good rest, I’ll wake you up in the morning, don’t worry."
"Mm."
Although Mu Ke’s apartnt is bigger than Jiayu’s, it doesn’t have an extra guest room. While Jiayu was taking a shower, Mu Ke had already replaced the bedding in the bedroom.
Jiayu lay down on the big bed, which, being a man’s bed, was even larger than hers. Jiayu thought this big bed could fit four people lying down without touching each other.
However, the headboard was dark solid wood, and the sheets were striped in alternating dark blue and light blue, giving a cold, unwelcoming feel.
Jiayu lay on the bed for a while, not feeling very sleepy. She didn’t know if it was because of concern for her mother’s condition or the previous intimate outburst with Mu Ke, making Jiayu feel as though a small fla was burning in her heart.
Through the crack in the door, the light from the living room outside stread in.
Mu Ke must be sleeping on the sofa outside. His sofa was larger than hers, enough to accommodate Mu Ke comfortably, but...
Jiayu tossed and turned for a few minutes. Just as the light outside was about to go out, she decisively stood up, walked to the door, and opened it.
Mu Ke, in his cotton pajamas, was about to press the light switch when he suddenly saw Jiayu opening the door. His elegant brow furrowed slightly. He walked over quickly: "What’s wrong?"
There was evident concern in his tone, which softened Jiayu’s heart. She looked down and glanced at her fluffy, youthful slippers, then steeled herself: "Why don’t you co in and sleep? Sleeping on the sofa isn’t really good."
After speaking, as if to cover up her embarrassnt, she added as a last-ditch effort: "Anyway, it’s not good for to take over your nest either."
Jiayu didn’t lift her head, her cheeks burning brightly.
She really had forgotten how to write the word "shy" for many years, but in front of Mu Ke, she always felt the embarrassnt and timidness only young girls experience.
Mu Ke said nothing, and Jiayu buried her head even lower.
Ti seed to be silent at this mont, and after several seconds, Jiayu felt soone take her hand, then walked a few steps outside, pressed the switch, plunging the living room into darkness, and then that hand led her back to the bedroom.
Mu Ke lay down on the other side of the big bed, just as Jiayu had imagined. Even with the two of them lying down, there was still room for two more in between.
Mu Ke turned off the bedside lamp, and the room instantly beca dark. After a brief adaptation, Jiayu saw Mu Ke’s bright, deep black eyes in the darkness.
"Good night."
The man’s thin lips parted slightly, his cool voice sowhat deep, possessing a calming feel, and the heart which Jiayu’s had been "thumping" suddenly quieted.
She also curled her lips: "Good night."
A good night’s sleep ...
This sleep, Jiayu slept very well, very deeply, not even knowing when the person beside her got up.
Mu Ke quietly walked out. Today’s sunlight was great, shining through the white gauze in the living room. Facing the morning light, Mu Ke wiped his face, his shoulders sagged heavily, exhaling a long breath, then turned into the kitchen.
He took bread and eggs out of the fridge and began to bustle, montarily lost in thought while frying the eggs.
