Mu Ke returned to the apartnt while Jiayu was taking a shower, the sound of water splashing in the bathroom. Mu Ke glanced at the door for a mont, then turned around, washed his hands in the kitchen, and opened the fridge to start preparing lunch ingredients.
Jiayu erged from the bathroom wearing a plush coral fleece loungewear, a towel draped over her shoulder, with her long hair damp and loose.
Hearing the noise in the kitchen, Jiayu walked straight out, without even wearing shoes.
Mu Ke’s tall silhouette stood busy at the stove, with the afternoon sun streaming in through the window, more intense, especially from the side window, lighting him up with a beam of gold, making him look even taller and lean.
Jiayu pursed her lips, carefully stepped over, and suddenly hugged Mu Ke’s slim waist: "Hey, did I scare you?"
The man’s hand paused while making a cold salad, slightly tilted his head, his clear brows and eyes showing a hint of indulgence, deeply ingrained.
"Hmm, scared ."
Uh...
Saying it with his usual cool voice, yet so seriously, was too incongruous, instantly dispelling any thought of joking.
Jiayu pouted and withdrew her hand, and Mu Ke turned around, looking down at Jiayu’s bare feet, frowned handsoly, and imdiately lifted her up horizontally.
Placing her on the sofa in the living room, Mu Ke found Jiayu’s slippers, gently enveloping her already cold feet in his embrace, warming them up before putting on her shoes: "The floor is cold."
Jiayu laughed, silly laughter, Mu Ke really pampered her to his heart’s core.
Clearly she was slapped today, clearly was laughed at inexplicably, clearly splashed with dirt, yet Jiayu’s mood soared.
She never had the intention to "act spoiled", yet now she just wanted to cling to Mu Ke and act cute.
As the thought flashed through her mind, Jiayu implented it, wrapping her arms around Mu Ke’s neck, using her damp hair to rub against Mu Ke’s face.
The towel on her shoulder sohow had already fallen on the ground, now her plush clothes also got sprinkled with water drops. Within seconds, Mu Ke’s shirt was marked with patches of wet spots.
But Mu Ke didn’t mind, letting her play around. When Jiayu had enough, Mu Ke reached out and tidied up her ssy, damp long hair, his fingertips accidentally poking Jiayu’s face, causing her to take a sharp breath.
Mu Ke’s eyes darkened; clearly, he hadn’t yet overco the mood of Jiayu being hit today.
When Xin Ke and Su Wan left, they looked quite embarrassed, but what use was it? The person close to his heart was still hurt.
Jiayu couldn’t miss Mu Ke’s displeasure, but she was in high spirits, quickly tugged on his collar, her voice soft: "Dry my hair."
Though Mu Ke’s face showed a hint of gloom, how could he withstand her acting spoiled like this? He took Jiayu into the bedroom, placed her on the bed, then grabbed the hairdryer to start blow drying her hair.
Lunch was simple, shrimp fried rice with a small cold dish and soup.
In the afternoon, Mu Ke initially planned to stay ho with Jiayu, but received an urgent call from the hospital, forcing him to go.
After he left, Jiayu grabbed her phone and called Xue Lu: "Lu Lu, co out for clothes shopping."
Upon receiving Jiayu’s call, Xue Lu was surprised, and even more surprised hearing what she said!
