Mu Ke ca to the hospital today because of the patient from yesterday’s surgery. As the attending physician, he still had so follow-up work, and because of the patient’s unique identity and physical condition, Mu Ke paid extra attention.
The postoperative condition was much better than he expected. Mu Ke stayed in the office for a while before soone knocked on the door to call him for a eting.
He Xin saw Mu Ke from afar and couldn’t help but think of the scene she witnessed yesterday. A flash of unwillingness crossed her eyes as she entered the eting room and sat closely beside Mu Ke.
The eting primarily focused on the patient’s treatnt plan following yesterday’s surgery. As the chief surgeon, Mu Ke naturally had the most authority to speak.
When the hospital leaders asked him to explain the situation, Mu Ke nodded slightly. His voice was cool, and he spoke clearly and thodically.
Everyone’s gaze was focused on him, and He Xin was no exception. But she didn’t hear a word he said; her eyes were fixed on this man, this man who seed to be glowing.
She rembered that woman she saw yesterday.
She doesn’t deserve Mu Ke!
As a doctor, Mu Ke sotis gets so busy that it’s almost beyond physical exhaustion. Such a man surely needs a virtuous wife who would prepare him the perfect dinner and provide him the most comfortable ho environnt, instead of making him take care of her after a tiring day at work.
After the eting ended, the people left in groups to have lunch. He Xin walked at the end, watching Mu Ke head back to his office. She bit her lip and followed him in.
Mu Ke had just taken off his white coat and put it in the cabinet when he saw He Xin push the door open. His handso face showed a trace of displeasure.
"What’s up?"
He Xin bit her lip tightly, tossed her notebook onto the table, and strode over to Mu Ke, quickly wrapping her arms around his waist, her red lips inching forward.
He Xin knew what she was doing. She really liked Mu Ke, really liked him a lot. Since she learned of his existence, no other man had ever caught her eye. How could she accept that he actually found soone else to be his girlfriend?
In the past, He Xin thought Mu Ke had a cold personality, so she would wait. She wasn’t unaware of Mu Ke’s other admirers, but they posed no threat to her.
She was an assistant physician, and leveraging her father’s position as the hospital director, she frequently partnered with Mu Ke. Her family background was good too; she could make Mu Ke the future director of the hospital if he wished.
In every respect, they were well-matched. She could also quit her current job for Mu Ke, focus on being his wife, manage everything for him so he wouldn’t have to worry about life, allowing him to work comfortably and happily.
He Xin firmly believed that they were the best match. She couldn’t let him go to soone else, nor could she let herself.
Just as her lips were about to touch Mu Ke’s, he pushed her away without hesitation. The force was strong, and He Xin bumped straight into the desk corner behind her, a sharp pain shooting through her waist.
Mu Ke’s eyes were cold: "Doctor He, what are you doing?"
Ignoring the pain in her waist, He Xin bit her lip: "Mu Ke, I like you. That woman doesn’t deserve you. Give a chance, and you’ll see, I’m the one who suits you best."
Mu Ke’s eyes narrowed, the chill intensifying, seeming not to want to hear any more of her nonsense. He grabbed his car keys on the table and walked out.
