Sheng Jiayu laughed, actually Mu Ke did have a sense of humor, but it seed that his humor was reserved just for her. If it were soone else, probably no one would believe that words like "truer than pearls" could co from Mu Ke’s mouth.
Mu Ke backed up, started the car, and took Sheng Jiayu for lunch.
Jiayu leaned back against the car seat, her eyes looking out the window.
The scene she just witnessed from above, along with the feelings of descent and elation it brought her, she didn’t ntion to Mu Ke; that was her own knot to untangle, not Mu Ke’s problem.
So when she saw He Xin hugging Mu Ke, her heart twisted painfully, that overwhelming sense of betrayal almost devoured her. Sheng Jiayu was very grateful, grateful that she was completely stunned at that mont, so she could hear Mu Ke’s firm words.
He said he wouldn’t betray her, she believed him!
As for why she ca to the hospital, it started with her just arriving at the bookstore.
Perhaps it was due to just returning from a break, the bookstore was quiet all morning, and Sheng Jiayu checked the inflow and outflow accounts she hadn’t looked at in the past couple of days. Just as she finished, she heard soone was looking for her.
Jiayu thought it might be Mu Ke but felt it was unlikely since they had just parted.
Yet when she went downstairs, she was stunned. It was actually Xin Ke.
Not long had passed since the fiasco at the hospital, but Xin Ke seed like a completely different person. His eyes no longer had their previous brightness, the whole person looked utterly dejected.
Jiayu looked at him indifferently; Xin Ke had co to apologize to her.
He knew everything now, Jiayu wasn’t surprised. The evidence concerning those past matters was sent to Xin Ke by her personally.
"Why didn’t you tell before?"
When Xin Ke said this, he was dejected, without a trace of bla or resentnt, just like a person standing at the edge of a cliff, expressing his final despair.
"Back then, if I told you, would you have believed ?"
Xin Ke fell silent. In fact, back when Su Wan repeatedly used her tricks, Jiayu had explained it to him multiple tis, but it was of no use. At that ti, Xin Ke didn’t believe a single word from Jiayu.
Su Wan’s child wasn’t his. In fact, even Su Wan herself didn’t know whose child it was.
It wasn’t Jiayu who forced her to leave; she ca to Jiayu, promising with certainty that if Jiayu gave her money to study abroad, she would leave Xin Ke, because she never really liked him.
Later, things beca obvious. In front of a pile of evidence, Su Wan admitted that if it hadn’t been for squandering the money Jiayu gave her and seeing Xin Ke’s successful career, she wouldn’t have returned to him.
While abroad, Su Wan was a ss, and she remained so when she returned to entangle Xin Ke.
Later, when she beca pregnant with a child of unknown paternity, she concocted the plan to make Xin Ke play the hero.
Regarding Jiayu allegedly pushing her and almost causing her miscarriage, that was intentional. Her initial intention was to directly kill the child to fra Jiayu and also achieve her ends, but the child was far stronger than she anticipated.
Jiayu never thought there would be a day she could treat Xin Ke so coldly, the man she loved for thirteen years.
She didn’t need Xin Ke’s apology, nor had she considered forgiveness. They would be strangers from here on out, and that was just fine.
After Xin Ke left, Jiayu really wanted to see Mu Ke, so she ca to the hospital.
